The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Yeah. Game Freak might not want it, but Nintendo are the ones responsible for the hardware...

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Game Freak could certainly get away with the B2W2 situation all over again. What they should do is a cross-platform release because that would be a win-win for everyone. And Nintendo could help with the porting if needed.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

It's simple: If they want to release a Switch game in this generation, they will ensure wireless/online compatibility with SM for battling purposes. If they don't want a Switch game, then whatever. It isn't due to the lack of communication potential.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Bolt, you're making less sense these days than you did in 2015, and that's saying something. You do expect the next game to be a 3DS one, right? So cut the crap about the GBA comparison. It isn't just PR when their software projections for the 3DS are 40 million, which is higher than 35 million...

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Nintendo has said that the 3DS will be supported until 2018, lol. They didn't say that about the DS, and yet B2W2 were released over a year after the 3DS. And the GB and N64 were released 7 years apart... Your argument is incredibly weak.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

The N64 wasn't designed to interact with the Game Boy, lol. They had no idea of how well Pokemon would be received back during the N64's development. Luckily, the Transfer Pak wasn't a complicated accessory. Also, saying that the N64 and Game Boy are part of the same generation is a stretch...

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

There is simply no need to communicate right now.

Geez. He wasn't necessarily referring to Game Freak. Lighten up.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Can we not assume that they're making a dumb decision when nothing at all has been announced for this year yet? Give it time.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

I am sorry, but a huge LOL is in order here. Why on earth would you compare a straightforward re-release of 20-year old games to the regular main series games? Almost zero effort is required for them. The only relevant comparison is to other eShop games. Guess what? RGBY are the highest-selling...

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

It isn't too late. My bet is that they're waiting for the next game announcement to coincide with a surprise VC release.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Geez. A VC release of GSC would be easy to pull off and would generate a generous profit. Why overthink it?

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

They did, but why would you hope for that? It's all so gimmicky and cash grabbing.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

I don't think it is a weak argument at all.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

I am not an oracle, but if ever there was a time for it... it would be now.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

Actually, Fire Emblem Warriors is a cross-platform release (N3DS and Switch).

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

The GBA Micro was a commercial failure and the DSi was released 2.5 years prior to the 3DS. Even the XL variant preceded the 3DS by a year. So no, it is not obvious why they're optimistic about the N2DS XL unless they have at least one big title planned, which hasn't been announced yet.

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

No doubt you can (somehow, lol). Without the Joy Cons the difference is minor (certainly length-wise, but the Switch is wider).

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

The bottom line is that the only "recent" handheld systems that fit a pocket are the original 3DS and standard New 3DS (which is hard to find in the US).
  20. Silktree

The 3DS Successor and its effects on Pokemon

The Switch is comparable to the 3DS XL if you remove the Joycons. So I have no idea what Serebii is on about. But even the 3DS XL is arguably too big for kids. Then again, the 2DS was made for kids and yet isn't very portable... At the end of the day, pricing is the most important factor...
