It's was confirmed that we can't back when the games were announced.
Though I do wonder about male Original Cap Pikachu, since that one is actually in the main games.
EDIT: Maybe they plan to give the starters all the hats the ones in Go have?
Starter Eevee has more detail than the regular Eevee. It's also lighter while the regular one is darker. Starter Pikachu's is hard to tell at first, but the stripes seems to be darker when being compared to the others.
While the starters being coded as different forms isn't a surprise, here's an interesting thing: Their models are also different compared to regular Eevee/Pikachu.
Here's Eevee's for example.
I can't find good pictures comparing starter and regular Pikachu aside from the overworld GO Park...
Those would be literal translations, though, so they wouldn't really count. The first two in Japanese are Zabuzabu Surf and Meramera Burn.
In that case, it's not even the translators' fault.
Both starter Pikachu and Eevee have higher stats compared to normal Pikachu and Eevee. Eevee learns Double Kick just like Pikachu does. Both recently got special moves revealed (Pikachu gets Splash Surf which can paralyze and Eevee gets Flare Burn which has a 100% chance of burning the opposing...
So it was originally reported that Shininess wasn't shown on wild Pokemon, but just the sparkles in the overworld. That seems to have changed now.

In that case, it'd be considered a Gen 7 spin-off like how every other spin-offs are handled, though that's irrelevant since it is considered part of the main series.
Why does LGPE even need Z-Moves to be considered Gen 7? How is it not considered Gen 7 when it's being released during then? Gen 1 has been over with ever since GS released, so it shouldn't be considered as part of that. Heck, LGPE has Dark/Steel/Fairy typing, various moves introduced between...
Since there was discussion a while back about if the Shininess will be shown on following Pokemon or not, I figure it'd be worth posting this.

Considering Shininess is shown on Pokemon in Go Park, it'll likely be the same case for...
Mystery Gift is a thing in LGPE, though. The option itself is shown in the Treehouse demo.
They can easily give out events that aren't Mew or a possible second Mythical (not counting the teased one).
I imagine the Pokemon that can follow us/can be ridden on would show up as Shiny, especially since HGSS had that. The Shininess not appearing in the overworld will likely be for wild Pokemon only.
Also speaking of amiibo, it'd be nice if the Detective Pikachu amiibo gave the hat + cape as...
It's worth noting that the Japanese site already specified that only the partner Eevee has the special female design while normal Eevee don't. This pretty much confirms the Pikachu & Eevee starters are being coded as separate forms at least.
I do think they should be allowed to be transferred...
So a thought just occurred to me. If they decide to give the LGPE Pokemon their own origin marker and if they actually use the origin marker for Go for the Pokemon originating from there, then that should mean the games would connect to Bank.
Maybe we'll see the summary screen next week?
