Super-Effective Mafia II.
Hosted by BUOY.
The seasons passed interminably in the Vale, as seasons tend to do. Spring burst into hot, bright summers, summer faded gently into crisp autumns, and autumn shed all for winter, while winter bloomed into spring again. The inhabitants’ lives went on after they had discovered and eradicated the evils of years gone by. With time, most of the living heroes faded into the background and died, yet their legacies and their deeds became an integral part of the Vale’s history. All was well for a long time after the conflict, and all who came to the Vale were welcomed with open arms -- for the inhabitants grew to realise that some of the creatures had turned against them because they had been rejected, neglected, ignored or insulted.
Of course, things couldn’t stay like that forever. Society within the Vale was not as kind as one might have liked to believe, and not all were treated with utmost courtesy and respect. Once more, some were being outcast or mistreated -- largely due to their own behaviours. Not everyone was nice -- that would be a little too much to ask -- but, inexorably, some had turned against the Vale once more, and they were determined this time not to fail like their criminal predecessors had. The important thing this time was that there was no member who wasn’t originally willing to plot against the Vale -- everyone was against them to start with, rather than a single creature tricking others to follow his ways, like Sudowoodo had.
The other creatures in the Vale suspected nothing. It was early summer, and they all were preparing for their anniversary celebration of the founding of the Vale once more. The mayor at that time was a sleek, youthful Gardevoir, who had recently been elected to lead the Vale. She was a little bashful to start out with, but soon enough she grew from that and transformed into a very influential and powerful leader -- one of the best since Mayor Breloom, they said. Her consort, one Gallade, was standing to the side as she herself stood in front of the traditional ribbon on the dawn of the day’s celebration. Most inhabitants gathered at the town’s centre to kick off the day’s activities with the cutting of the ribbon.
“Welcome, all,” Mayor Gardevoir said in that gentle but vibrant voice of hers, ringing through the silence. “I greet you all on this day with a great deal of enthusiasm. This is my first anniversary celebration with you as Mayor, so do bear with me. It’s been one hundred and sixty-three years since the Vale was founded, and in that time much has happened to our simple, yet profound, settlement. It is interesting to note that evil has only arisen once here, and it was stamped out quickly. Let that be a warning to anyone who plots against the Vale -- you will be found out and brought down. After all, I am psychic. Moving on from darker things, I really hope you all have a most fantastic day -- fine weather for it, am I right?”
The town, who hung on her every word, positively screeched their encouragements.
“I’m glad you agree! Gallade,” she began, turning to her partner, “if you’d be so kind as to-- Gallade?!”
She gave a loud gasp.
Her love, the most important thing in her life, was crumpled on the floor. Nobody had noticed; who was he compared to the main attraction of that day? She sent a probing thought out to him, but detected no life in his mind.
He was dead, dead, dead.
Burly Machamp that acted as security climbed up to the platform on which she and her partner were, and, as one escorted Mayor Gardevoir from the scene, another carried the dead body of Gallade in a different direction. The ruler of the Vale knew then that it would be the last time she ever saw him. Her insides screamed against remaining composed, but composed was the way she stayed. Her face fell, her eyes as unreadable as the weather.
Upon a distant rooftop perched a bird Pokémon. He watched as inhabitants fled the town’s centre, only barely put into some sort of order by security. This was to be the start of his conquest, and nobody would stop him.
With a sharp hooting noise, he took off into the sky.
(yes the death of gallade was sudden and all but i was feeling uninspired ok)

MECHANICS:
Of course! What would Super-Effective Mafia be without its special mechanics?
As it was last time, the roles within this game are based on Pokémon species, and thus each role assumes the type of the Pokémon they receive. When voting, how much your vote counts for against another person is determined by both your type and their type. If their role’s Pokémon type resists yours, then your vote will count half as much; if yours is super-effective against theirs, your vote will count twice against them. It’s also possible that your vote might not count at all due to an immunity, or counts four times due to a 4x weakness to your type. For example, we have Player A (Piplup), Player B (Chimchar) and Player C (Turtwig). Player A’s vote against Player B counts twice, but only half as much against Player C.
If you are dual-typed, only the primary type counts when voting other people, but both types count when receiving votes. For example, take Player D (Empoleon), Player E (Infernape) and Player F (Torterra). Player E’s vote counts normally against Player D, as Fire vs Water/Steel is a neutral attack. YA.
To make the game EXTRA special, there’s another wonderful mechanic brought in! The abilities of a lot of roles will be based on Pokémon Moves this time, which means that effectiveness is also brought into play here, and every role has a Pokémon Ability, too -- like Torrent or Limber or something. That means, people, that if you have a role ability that’s based on a Pokémon Move, depending on the type or ability of another Pokémon, it might not work. The Pokémon Ability also has an effect on the mafia game other than granting immunities and the like, as well, but they’re specific for each role.

RULES:
Pilfered from the last game I hosted, with some changes.
1. I will modkill for two things:
-- If you share your Role PM in its entirety. You MAY claim your role’s ability (or abilities) and your type (Water, Grass, Fire, etc). Nothing else, however, is allowed to be claimed. You cannot even hint at your role’s name (Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, etc.). Screenshots may not be taken, and you cannot forward your Role PM. An exception to this is the mafia members in their QT.
-- Unacceptable conduct towards other players: while things may get heated, I’m going to ask you all to keep your cool. If you get excessively rude or if you try to flame/bait, then you will be promptly replaced and, if necessary, other appropriate action will be taken.
2. Please notify me of inactivity. It helps me and the game as a whole if I can neatly slot in a substitute in your place, instead of having to ask around on short notice. If I see you haven't been active for three or more phases, you're automatically going to be replaced. Warnings won't be issued.
3. Once you're dead, you're dead. You're only allowed a few inconsequential posts, and these must not include speculation or information. Two or three maximum, please. For mafia members, you can still continue to post in the QT, as long as you don't give out advice, suspicions or information that you haven’t already disclosed to the remaining members. If you don’t follow this rule, it’s likely that you won’t be permitted to play in the next mafia game I host depending on the severity of the infringement. A QT will be set aside for all dead players, however. Use that to talk.
4. Both night phases and day phases will last approximately 24 hours each, although it is subject to delay and extension. Each phase change will be around 8/9PM GMT.
5. When voting, post Vote: [USER] in order to make your vote count. Likewise, if you want to remove your vote, then it's Unvote: [USER]. Voting for a no lynch is an option, but in the case of a tie, a lynch will win over a no lynch.
6. Any kind of outside communication is fine, except VMs, as long as I get notified of it one way or another. If you're using PMs, then add me [Buoy] as a recipient, and you must provide a log or a summary of your conversation if you use services such as AIM or Skype to hold your private conversations. The mafia's QT will be set up by myself and shared with the mafia members -- who must not under any circumstances share it with any non-mafia player or anyone who is not participating in the game.
7. During the game, I have the right to, and may/will edit or add rules in. As such, you should probably keep checking, but I’ll more than likely make an announcement that the rules have been changed, and state the change/addition.
8. sourcandy is banned for being psychic
(p.s. that is a joke ok)
