Niantic has announced full details of the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 that will be held on June 4th and June 5th. A Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale event will also be held on August 27th. Tickets for the event are available now. This year's event is all about Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon, which will be available to ticket holders only as a reward for completing special research.

For all Trainers

A Pikachu wearing a special Shaymin-inspired Gracidea flower costume will make its Pokémon GO debut in the wild and in one-star raids. The Shiny variant will also be able to be encountered. A certain Pokémon will appear when snapshots are taken, and some snapshots will be featured in the Today View.

For ticket holders only
  • Ticket holders can spin Photo Discs at Gyms to earn up to nine free Raid Passes. These can be used only for in-person raids.
  • Ticket holders can collect special event stickers from Gifts and PokéStops.
  • Ticket holders can receive a surprise gift for taking up to five snapshots during event hours on Saturday and Sunday.

For ticket holders only
Trainers will be tasked with conducting Special Research to learn more about the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin, and will encounter Land Forme Shaymin along the way. Other rewards will include an event-exclusive avatar item and a special avatar pose.

Trainers will be faced with two important decisions while conducting their Special Research; these selections cannot be changed after choosing:
  • Choose between Relaxed, Standard, and Master difficulty levels for your Special Research. This will affect the sticker you will receive as a reward.
  • Choose between Catch, Explore, or Battle. This will affect the Special Research tasks that will be available.
Four Collection Challenges will be available, each themed after a habitat hour. Complete them to earn towards the Elite Collector medal. The Global Challenge Arena will be back. Ticket holders will be able to work together to complete a collaborative challenge each hour. If they succeed, they'll earn a bonus for the remainder of the hour. Check the Today View to keep track of global progress and the contributions of friends.

During event hours, Shiny Pokémon have an increased chance of being encountered. They will appear more on Saturday than on Sunday.

The Global Challenge Arena will now be available for all Trainers. A short Special Research story can be received upon logging on the second day. All Pokémon that can be encountered in the wild for all Trainers on Saturday, will appear all day on Sunday during the event hours.

    • Pikachu wearing a Gracidea flower costume ⁂

  • Five-Star Raids
    • A certain Pokémon will be making its Pokémon GO debut
For ticket holders only
  • An additional Special Research story will be available after completing the short Special Research story available to all Trainers; complete with rewards and special Pokémon encounters.
  • Every Pokémon attracted to Incense on Saturday will be attracted to Incense once again on Sunday during event hours.
  • Team GO Rocket balloons will appear more frequently, and Trainers will earn twice the Mysterious Components when Team GO Rocket Grunts are defeated.
Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale
A special one-day finale event will be held on August 27th, and will feature a new Special Research story, exciting Pokémon encounters, and more. Trainers who purchase a ticket for the global Pokémon GO Fest event in June will be granted a ticket for the finale event at no extra charge. Stand-alone finale tickets will be available at a later date for US$10.99.

How to buy a ticket?
Pokémon GO Fest 2022 tickets are now available in the in-game shop for US$14.99. The ticket will be on sale until June 5, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. local time.
  1. In the in-game shop, tap the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 image.
  2. Tap the Buy button.
  3. A pop-up will appear indicating that a ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2022 has been received.
  4. The ticket will later appear in the Item Bag.
A few days before the event, a medal will be received. Once the game are log-in during event hours on both days, the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 experience will begin. The game has to be logged in during event hours on both Saturday and Sunday to claim each days Special Research story. After claiming each Special Research story, it can be completed at any time.
