Pokémon Air Adventures launches new Pikachu Jet TR with Singapore's Scoot, Pikachu Weekend in Singapore event announced for November 18th-20th

The Pokémon Company has announced that it will be launching a special Pokémon-themed plane this September in collaboration with the Singapore-based airline Scoot. The Pikachu Jet TR is scheduled for its inaugural flight from Singapore to Tokyo, Japan this September 9th. It will operate mainly on routes between destinations in Asia, including flights between Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul.

The Pikachu Jet TR is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with a capacity of 375 seats. The outer design inspired by flower scents, is unique to this aircraft and features depictions of Pikachu, Pichu, Shaymin, Psyduck, Lapras, Celebi, and Meganium across the length of the fuselage, on top of a white background with fluttering yellow petals and leaves. There are also Pokémon hiding on both sides of the wings, and Poké Balls on the engines.

The "TR" in the name is not a reference to Team Rocket frequently being sent flying by Pikachu, but rather is simply the airline code used by Scoot.

Pokémon Air Adventures, or the "Soratobu Pikachu Project" (そらとぶピカチュウプロジェクト - Flying Pikachu Project) as it is being called in Japan, is a collaborative initiative from The Pokémon Company, which aims to connect the world through Pokémon, helping to bring joy and wonderful memories through a shared enjoyment of travel. Other partner airlines for this project include the Pikachu Jet BC with Japan's Skymark Airlines, and the Pikachu Jet CI with China Airlines.

Alongside the unveiling of the Pikachu Jet TR came the announcement of the Pikachu Weekend in Singapore. Running across November 18th to 20th, this special event will incorporate several activities, including a night show to be held at Marina Bay, and the Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Singapore event, which will be held at Gardens By The Bay. More details on these two events will be announced at a later date.

Pikachu Jet TR Onboard experience
Pikachu Jet TR Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner includes a range of features and onboard amenities to give passengers an immersive Pokémon-themed experience onboard, starting with Pikachu featuring as part of inflight announcements. Complementing the outside of the Jet, unique Pokémon character prints can also be seen overhead inside the cabin, as well as on the seat rest covers.

Meals onboard will feature a range of Japanese-inspired dishes, including Chicken Yakitori and Ginger Teriyaki Chicken with Rice. Passengers looking for a snack can also treat themselves to Pokémon-themed box of cookies. All meals will also be drinks will also be served with specially designed Pikachu Jet themed cups and serviettes.

The airline also promises to bring its unique "Scootitude" experience to each flight, with events and activities specially prepared for the Pikachu Jet TR by the "Scootees" cabin crew members.

Scoot X Pokémon Air Adventures Original Merchandise
A selection of Pokémon merchandise will be available for purchase during website bookings for flights within six months from the date of booking, and up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight. Every passenger is allowed to purchase one of each of the following types of Pokémon merchandise per flight.

• Adventurer's Lanyard - This lanyard features a subtle plane print on the strap, a soft Pikachu-themed case, and a mini hanging charm of the Pikachu Jet TR.
• Fly Away Tote Bag - A colourful tote bag featuring a flying Pikachu and the Pikachu Jet TR on the outside.
• Pikachu Bucket Hat - A reversible yellow and black bucket hat with Pikachu themed accents on each side.
