Ball Guy
In what seems like the culmination of Pokémon Masters EX's 3.5 year anniversary celebrations, Galar's own Ball Guy is making his debut today in Pokémon Masters EX in a Variety Scout together with his partner Pokémon Amoonguss. Alongside this scout, Ball Guy will also be taking center stage in a variety of in-game events, including brand new Story and Expedition events.

Ball Guy in Great Ball outfit
Ball Guy Variety Scout

This Variety scout offers players to scout the Ball Guy, who is making their Pokémon Masters EX debut in a sync pair together with Amoonguss. This new sync pair has an expanded sync grid, and the ability to be raised to 6★ EX. Raising the Sync Pair to a 6★ EX will change their outfit to a Great Ball based design.

Ball Guy & Amoonguss are a Poison-type Support Sync Pair, with a variety of moves and skills based around status conditions. Their On the Ball! Status move allows them to remove status conditions from their allies, while also improving their critical-hit rate. Their Destructive Touch 9 Passive Skill meanwhile will inflict either poison, paralyze or sleep on any opponent that attacks them.

In addition to the regular Variety Scout, Trainers can also take advantage of a Variety Scout + Present! Limit 3!, a special Sync Pair Scout requiring paid gems, that, as the name implies, can be used up to 3 times. Players will receive a 50% discount on their first Sync Pair Scout x11 for this special Spotlight Scout, making it 1,500 Gems rather than the usual 3,000. As an added bonus, players will also receive bonus items every time they do a Sync Pair Scout x11 for this special Spotlight Scout. The bonuses that are received are as follows.

1st Time (50% off)
  • Custom ★ Power Up for Ball Guy & Amoongus x5
  • Custom Sync Orb for Ball Guy & Amoongus x200
2nd Time
  • Custom ★ Power Up for Ball Guy & Amoongus x5

The 5★ Master Scout Ticket S allows Trainers to use the Ball Guy Guarenteed Ticket Scout, ensuring they scout this ever-popular Galar Mascot.

Both the Variety Scout and Variety Scout + Present! Limit 3! will be available until April 6th, at 10:59pm (PDT). The associated Ticket Scout will be available until April 13th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Galar's Poké Ball Enthusiast Medals

These upgrade items can be obtained by exchanging associated 1★-3★ gear. More upgrade items will be received for gear with more ★s, higher levels, or more level caps unlocked.

After this event is over, the new gear will continue to be obtainable from the General tab of the Exchange Items menu, starting from April 13th, at 11:00pm (PDT).

Players wanting to participate in this event should note the following:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Interlude 1: Let the Tournament Begin! in single-player. This interlude can be completed after players complete Main Story: Chapter 10 in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those which can actually be obtained by players.
  • Players cannot take on this event area with 3 teams comprised of only their own Sync Pairs.
  • The number of plays available for Daily Bonus Battle 1 are reset every day at 10:00pm (PST)
  • When the exchange period for the vouchers obtained in this event ends, leftover vouchers will be converted into coins (10 coins per voucher) and sent to each player's Present Box.
Voltorb and Exeggcute
Do You Want an Egg?

In this somewhat unusual variant of the typical egg event, players will be able to receive Eggs from Professor Bellis that will hatch into Voltorb and Exeggcute. This event is available in-game now, and will continue through to April 6th at 10:59pm (PDT). During this time, players will only receive eggs by completing missions from this Do You Want an Egg? event, and will not receive Eggs for completing other areas. Both Voltorb and Exeggcute have a chance of hatching as a Shiny Pokémon.

One limited-time incubator will also be added to Bellis's Lab for the duration of this event. If an Egg is still in the limited-time incubator when the event ends, the limited-time incubator will remain active until that Egg hatches. This incubator will assist Players in unlocking rewards from event missions to hatch certain numbers of eggs.

As usual for events of this type, several special missions will be available during the event period. Players will have an increased chance of receiving Eggs if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs are placed in the lineup, the higher the Egg reward rate will be. The applicable Sync Pairs and Egg reward rates are as follows:
  • Ball Guy & Amoonguss: +80% (×1.8) Egg Reward Rate
  • Electric and Psychic-type Main Character sync pairs: +80% (×1.8) Egg Reward Rate
  • Main Character sync pairs: +40% (×1.4) Egg Reward Rate
  • Other Electric and Psychic-type-type sync pairs: +20% Egg Reward Rate (×1.2)
These bonuses stack additively, so having Ball Guy & Amoonguss, a Main Character Electric or Psychic-type sync pair, and another Electric or Psychic-type sync pair would give a combined bonus of +200% (x3.0)

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Players cannot receive Eggs from Professor Bellis by completing areas outside of this event during this event period.
