Recently, a topic appeared in this forum dealing with a topic that, even as an hypothetical discussion, asked users to contemplate and debate ideas that stand in complete opposition to what we have tried, in recent years, to stand for. The thread was handled with remarkable civility and maturity (to our user's credit!); but creating a thread like that gave an unacceptable degree of legitimacy to some of the vilest ideas in human history.
This topic was posted by a staff member, and as such, I'd like to apologize to everyone (whether they were offended or not) for the fact that it went through and was posted. It should never have been posted, and this will be discussed at length with the parties involved in the posting.
