Simple, but nicely done, Gate. Though part of me is can't help but to wonder exactly what the scene is.
May-for-Pikachu hostage crisis: Ash would definitely be outraged, then torn if he couldn't immediately rectify the situation. Eventually he'd try to rescue her *somehow*...
First Date: Definitely something simple that they could both enjoy. Dinner at a nice restaurant immediately comes to mind.
May-minus-Ash: It probably would have been quite a bit less pleasant for May than it was with Ash watching her back. He's a large part of why she began liking pokemon again after her Tentacool trauma way back when, and Ash has been there for her when she needed aid and comfort on more than one occasion. It's even a remote possibility that May might have eventually given up completely like some less-fortunate trainers have been known to do had she not had the support of others, and Ash in particular. So yes, it's safe to say that Ash was a major positive influence in May's life.
