What fairy tale does Advanceshipping remind you most of and why?

Alladin for obvious reason oxo...And Cinderella because of the evil step sisters *cough*

On an unrelated note: I'll do my best to find AdvanceShippy pics on Japanese sites!

You do know that Alladin is a Chinese story, right? Unless you're referring to the Disney movie...

ALADDIN IS A CHINESE STORY?! *SLAPS FOREHEAD* WHY DO I STILL BELIEVE DISNEY STORIES ARE THE REAL STORIES?!! :eek:hdear:

yay princess is back :D lol

i think advanceshipping is more of an "aladdin" story. like, the whole "ash showed may the world of pokemon" corresponds with "aladdin showing jasmine a whole new world" and how may was the "arabian princess" for the wallace cup and in some episode, ash was dressed like a sultan...
I totally agreed with you :)

...speaking about fairy tales & movies, the 9th movie reminded me of Titanic o.o with the whole water flooding and Ash (Jack) saving May (Rose) by sacrificing himself. That was so cute ^.^

Hmm...following the fairy tale idea...I'd have to say...yeah, I agree with DarkDreams on Aladdin.

For the record, May wanted to see the world all her life but was stuck in her house...and then Ash comes and wants to take her all over Hoenn so she can enjoy herself. So pretty close to Aladdin.

Aladdin in a Middle East story, isn't it? I'm Chinese, and I swear I've never heard Aladdin as a folk talk before...

This is probably going to seem really out of place but... what is shipping? Lol? I've been trying to figure it out and well.... no luck.

The romantic relationship between two people. Ship comes from RelationSHIP.

...Just check out the Shipper's FAQ

Shipping is the belief that 2 or more fictional characters are in a romantic relationship. For example: AdvanceShipping is the belief that Ash and May are in a romantic relationship. You don't necessarily have to believe that the two or more characters love each other (Ex: crackships, ships that make no sense whatsoever). You can just think they're cute together. Hope that helps.

It reminds me of cinderella mostly because of Endless-Summer 181's fanart of Advance. Here's the link: http://fav.me/d28n8v1

New topic?

Quick! Give a scene in the show where Ash/May could kiss each other without making the situation awkward.

The 9th movie, when Ash lays May down in the capsule, he could just linger for a few seconds and then kiss her (Lips or cheek, either I don't mind). Then he'll pull away and they go on like they did in the actual scene. Except when May prays, she'll say something along the lines of "I love you" And THAT gives him to the strength to swim and stuff...

Wait. Maybe the writers were planning on doing that before they edited it? I WANT THE OLD VERSION THEN DAMMIT

In Date Expectations after Ash reassures May. That would have been the perfect time.

If only Dawn,Brock & Pikachu weren't in the scene, I would've said A Full Course Tag Battle! when they put their ribbons back together, it would of look so lovely if they were alone but no Dawn Brock & pikachu ruined it xDD

*ponders topic* i'd have to agree that the scene in the manaphy movie would have been the perfect place for a kiss....

-----------

Fear.

The water was gaining on us – streaming rapidly though the open hallway in ever-increasing amounts, threatening to drown us in its wake. I turned slightly, glancing at Ash.

Heartbeat.

The floor beneath us was unstable, quaking in the presence of the torrents that chased after us. But we never stopped, never thought about the possibility of drowning. Our breathing came and went at the same rapid pace- shallow, straining, hoping.

Run faster.

A loud, crashing noise suddenly rumbled past the soles of our feet. I did not dare turn to see what it was. Clutching Manaphy closer to my chest, I frantically searched the room for a way to escape. There was none.

Wait…

A stairway straight ahead suddenly materialized into view. I didn’t need to turn to Ash to see that his expression was suddenly filled with the same relief that filled mine. We barreled toward them, running past the fear, the water.

“Pika, pikachu!”

I stopped, one foot positioned on the second landing. Ash had paused, reaching over to grab something shiny –

The missing part of the Sea Crown.

His auburn eyes were bright with triumph. “Got it!” He held the bright, blue crystal with both hands, examining it for any breaks. “But how did it get here?”

“I’m not surprised with all the flooding going on,” I surmised breathlessly.

Ash smiled brightly; even in our current, life-threatening situation, his smile didn’t fail to make my heart beat even faster than it already was. “So, all we do now is put it back!”

I suddenly cut him off, my eyes widening in fear. “Look out!”

The water flooded into the room with immaculate speed, drowning the spot that we had been standing just moments ago. Ash gasped, and we both turned quickly to run out of the way. But then I stopped, feeling as though a rock had just plummeted into my stomach.

Dead end.

There was nothing but more water on the other side. Surrounded.

Ash suddenly gasped, pointing at something. He placed the crystal on the ground and stepped toward a large, green capsule, half-submerged in the water.

“It’s the Phantom’s!”

Before I could reply, there was a sudden, loud crash from behind us. My eyes flickered toward the sound, and I heard myself gasp in alarm.

More water.

Ash’s eyes hardened in determination. He leaned down and hauled the safety capsule toward us. I wanted to reach out and help him, but fear froze me on the spot.

“May! Get in here!” Ash’s voice suddenly pierced through my wildly racing thoughts. “It’s Phantom’s – come on, you got to!” He extended a hand toward me.

Confusion took the place of fear. I reached to take his hand, my eyes asking him what it was that he wanted. He didn’t respond, grasping my fingers tightly and pulling me toward him, laying me into the open capsule. I followed his motions numbly, suddenly unable to move due to the fact that his hands were protectively wrapped around my shoulders.

He suddenly released me. Reaching up toward his shoulder, he then placed Pikachu into the capsule next to me. Ice locked around my heart as I suddenly realized what he was doing.

“Pikachu, you take care of the two of them,” he said calmly, picking up the Sea Crown crystal and slinging it over his shoulder. His hand clasped around the lid of the capsule.

The ice turned to splinters, piercing me. “No!” I gasped in protest, but my voice made no sound.

Ash suddenly leaned toward me, closer than I had been anticipating. His eyes held mine, and for a brief second, I could not breathe. My heart was drowning out all other sounds.

Carefully, gently, he pressed his lips to mine, silencing my voice.
“Be safe,” he whispered.

Then, the capsule lid locked into the place.

My hand felt the place where Ash’s lips had touched mine, still frozen from shock and amazement. Then, reality hit so hard that it left me dizzy.

“No! ASH!”

He was gone.

Absolutely a beautiful fanfic Princess, I couln't stop reading. It seems your talent still remains intact if not even stronger than before when it comes to details, the fic kept me on my seat, exciting and cute all at the same time.

Hmm...on the topic everyone else is on...

I'd have to say...the 8th movie. If Ash had gotten a little more dramatic with himself after he was pulled out of the water after the fight with Lucario and May was lecturing him. Ash could've reminded May how lonely he was without Pikachu by his side, and May could've told him that with her around he's never alone. Then...well, *insert Advanceshippy kiss here*

BTW, Awesome story, Princess.
