This story takes place in a distant future, one where Pokémon rule the land, and humanity is but a fading memory. Though traditions can't preserve memories, one child still remembers the heroes of old, and she aspires to become just like them.
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. Yet dawn always follows dusk, even if some nights are longer than others.
This is not what you'd call a PMD story, yet I'm sure some things will be familiar.
Nor is this an uplifting story, yet I'd like to think there is still hope.
Will you come along and hear this child's tale?
(Algol... he's a bit of a "book wyrm." More character art to come eventually!)
Hello!
This is something I've started... geez, it's been a year, hasn't it? I originally posted the first chapter, but after that I decided to draft the rest of the story in private. Good thing, too! It's given me a lot of time to figure out characters, the plot, etc. I couldn't have rewritten the beginning without knowing the ending, for example. This also got much longer than I initially predicted, but I don't think there's much fluff to cut. Anyway, I've had a ton of fun writing this, and I hope you enjoy reading it!
This is my first time doing something like this, so I'm no expert. I do really appreciate feedback, but I might be a little slow to incorporate some of it.
Finally, huge thanks to my friends. Several of them at read through the draft version opening, and one of them even stuck through to the end of the draft. (And was very encouraging, might I add! Without her encouragement, the draft probably would have taken much longer to finish.) Also huge thanks to my other friend, who patiently listened as I bounced various ideas off her. I hope the end result has been worth all of their time.
Updates will happen every Thursday! Since I'm editing drafts, I shouldn't have much of a problem keeping up with this pace. I may need to take breaks from time to time, but I'd like to stick to weekly updates. (Updates paused for now.)
Last update (3/25): P2.08 has been posted!

I do not assume very much. Basically, if you are familiar with major Pokemon from first generation and the Eeveelutions, you're good to go. I make an attempt to at least briefly describe what everything else looks like.
Some chapters contain
- Violence, blood, and death (As someone who's excessively squeamish, I avoid specifics.)
- Loose depictions of PTSD (Again, specifics are avoided, but in this case because my research can only get things so accurate.)
- Occasional language (I personally avoid language, but there are characters who may get a little more vulgar from time to time, and it would sometimes feel weird to tone them down, sooo...)
Table of Contents
- Act I – Sow
- Act II – Sprout
- Act III – Reap
- P3.01 – Fighting the Friction
- P3.02 – Staining Words
- P3.03 – Water Pressure
- P3.04 – Killing Lies
- P3.05 – The Unown Verdict
- P3.06 – Second Hand
- P3.07 – By the Sword
- P3.08 – Dawn of Time
- P3.09 – Black and White
- P3.10 – A Fugitive’s Farewell
- Epilogue
- SIDE A ~ AIN/IM
- SIDE B ~ RI/MEM
See next post for old things. I originally had them in this post but it was making the post very long and a pain to edit.
