So... Ash is met at the Pike by figures who are clearly James, Meowth and Wobbuffet. They then tell him that Pikachu must do the battle in a box Team Rocket has used before... and he isn't suspicious at all? Ash is stupider than I thought!

Meh, the actual battle didn't interest me much. The pre-battle interactions were much more interesting. I would also like to know what problem those girls had, though it seems to be linked to how much they like Lucy.

I can't believe how much the Brock/Lucy thing was actually pushed. Brock gets pulled by the ear four times in this episode, and one of them wasn't even from Max. He even seemed to help Ash win by making her lose her concenration. Though the actual explanation by Enshida was interesting. I'm guessing it isn't entirely a repeat of before (though I won't know until Toonami Uk starts showing new episodes that are actually new) since Volt Tackle was involved.
