Hey, that reminds me, I rember alot of people, including me, had a feeling Squirtle would learn lik Ice Punch from the Jynx! Good thing it didn't happen!

You don't die from freezing in the Pokemon world. Remember Pryce's Piloswine? Yeah I know it's an Ice type, but still...

Maybe you don't die from freezing, but you can die from suffocation. You think they were nice enough to leave them a little breathing hole we can't see or something? (Not that they would show either one anyway [unless you want to count how people "get sleepy" in the cold]....)

The problem was that the Jynx were overprotective. And that was only solved through Smoochum evolving.
