Contest Alakazam vs Gardevoir

Alakazam- we must not let the furries win! VOTE ALAKAZAM 2011  Also, there are 2 spoons.

Alakazam, because I don't have to worry about looking up images of it.
Oh, and there aren't any spoons, there are only forks.

1. Alakazam WAS the monster back then. I remember the popular and over rated elemental punch move set it has. Despite being nerfed, it can still be beastly in many battles. It can outspeed MANY pokemons.

2. Gardevoir. It looks elegant, classy, aristocratic, HIGH FASHUNN and Gardevoir is a mainstay in many *coughs*pokeporn*coughs* Alakazam is a joke, design wise.

3. Gardevoir. It has the easy evolution advantage over Alakazam's trade evo. Seriously, most of players who only has 1 gameboy gets stuck with Kadabra.

4. Gardevoir. We all know how popular "effeminate" men is to Japanese pop culture. We have those JPOP boy bands that look like 16 year old girls and JROCK visual kei bands that dresses up as goth girls (An Cafe). So Gardevoir portrays both sexes greatly. Although male Gardevoir is creepy and drag queen-ish.

5. Alakazam. Eventhough it's popularity has drastically fallen, it's still a great pick in UU tier.

Bonus: Yes there is. I just spooned your mum.

I voted neither since I am TEAM UXIE.

Who is the best battler?
Probably Alakazam, although Garedvoir served me well in XD. I really wouldn't know.
Who has the dashing looks?
Gardevoir. Unfortunately, those dashing looks are frequently abused... no, I'm not explaining any further. If you don't know by now, good for you. You are a beautifully pure individual. Keep it that way.
Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type?
I'm not sure how to answer this...
Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize?
...I'm scared to answer this question
Who is the best, overall?
I'd say Gardevoir. I like the design better, plus I've actually used it before.

BONUS QUESTION: Is there a spoon?
Realize that there is no spoon. (Yes, I typed that before I saw the picture ;))

1. Alakazam

2. Alakazam

3. Gardevoir (poor Abra only learns Teleport)

4. Gardevoir

5. Alakazam (Thank you, Magic Guard)

Bonus: Yes.

•Who is the best battler? Well, I love Psychic types, but I always use Gardevoir. She's amazing in battle! On Platinum, I made Gardevoir learn three key moves- One for evasion of attacks, one to put a Pokmon to sleep, and one to damage the Pokemon when it's asleep. The combo worked out well.
•Who has the dashing looks? Gardevoir again!
•Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type? Probably Alakazam, although Gardevoir could be just as strong as a pre-evolution......
•Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize? Gardevoirs, even though they are made fun of because they can be males XD
•Who is the best, overall? Gardevoir. Always.

Gijinka Gardevoir is awesome!

~MP, MK, HSF1, and Liz

Alakazam, hands down. Gardevoir looks way too humanoid for me to like it very much, and Alakazam is an OG.

Alakazam destroys all of the competition.
He is just too epic with the spoons and stuff.

Who is the best battler? I'd say Gardevoir. She has more balanced stats than Alakazam, who lacks greatly in the defense area. I think it would be wise to use Gardevoir in battles that last for a long time. She'll be able to withstand more attacks.

Who has the dashing looks? Gardevoir! I love her elegant style XD

Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type? Gardevoir. I like how she learns various moves that are satisfactory. The elemental punches rule! Also, strictly speaking in Gen 3, Abra teleports the moment you encounter, while Ralts doesn't XD (Too young to learn teleport)

Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize? Gardevoir looks female, but her paper-like body doesn't tell anything. She could be male. Alakazam, on the other hand... I never saw a girl with a 'stach in my life. So, This vote goes to Alakazam.

Who is the best, overall?
Overall, I pick Gardevoir XD

I used a Gardevoir in Emerald, and she was a beast who destroyed everything in her path, and she's related to Gallade, so extra bonus points there.
Alakazam gets points for that moustache and the spoons, as well as an awesome base 135 Special Attack.

Who is the best battler?
Alakazam. High Special Attack + Speed vs. high Special Attack + Special Defense. I'd rather have Sp. Atk + Speed.
Who has the dashing looks?
Gardevoir is very elegant~
Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type?
Gardevoir, just because I hate the idea of trade evolutions.
Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize?
Gardevoir. I always catch a female Ralts in RSE (even if it takes forever).
Who is the best, overall?
3/4 questions go to Gardevoir, so Gardevoir.

•Who is the best battler? Alakazam is an offensive powerhouse, but Gardevoir is a great defensive Pokémon capable of using support moves like Will-O-Wisp. I prefer offensive Pokémon, so Alakazam wins this one.
•Who has the dashing looks? Gardevoir. Her simple yet gracious design is one of the best designs that GF has ever made.
•Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type? Alakazam. Abra is a pain to train in the beginning, but it's worth the effort.
•Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize? Gardevoir. Gardevoir clearly resembles a woman, while Alakazam looks like a hermaphrodite species with a moustache, in my opinion.
•Who is the best, overall? Hm, I think Gardevoir is the best. It's one of my favourite Pokémon, and I simply love its design. Its cry is also unique and interesting. It sounds mystic and creepy at the same time.

•BONUS QUESTION: Is there a spoon? Of course, ghaskan.

Who is the best battler?
Alakazam. Gardevoir is dead weight in almost any tier.
Who has the dashing looks?
Gardevoir looks far better I must say.
Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type?
Gardevoir because you have to trade to get Zam.
Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize?
Not sure.
Who is the best, overall?
Alakazam.

My vote goes to Alakazam, better attacking stats, much faster, and good ability. Also, Psychic-type + mustache = awesome. And he can dance Gangnam Style too!

Next, we have the beautiful Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokémon!

OK, here's my question: What the hell is so pretty about Gardevoir?

Oh yeah, and there's a reason why Alakazam is OU while Gardevoir struggles in NU.

I went with Alakazam, because its SATK and SPD are great for ingame! It needs trade-evo, though.

Gardevoir's powerful, yet not as powerful as Alakazam. Its design is more feminine too. I am now more with Gallade.

Alakazam wins it, hands down.

I just realized that I haven't commented on this thread at all.

My favorite among the two is Gardevoir. Alakazam was a Pokemon I never cared too much about, but I fell in love with Gardevoir the instant I saw her. She has become a staple of my RSE teams ever since my second playthrough of Sapphire.

She is, in my opinion, better designed. I like her movepool more (I tend to shy away from offensive Pokemon in favor of bulky and support ones,) and she's ultimately more useful since you don't need to trade to get her. Also, she looks more feminine, which is a plus. As for gender representation, I guess that goes to Alakazam, since 50% of Gardevoir can be male while only 25% of Alakazam can be female. Alakazam is technically the better battler, but who cares? It's not all about who can kick more ass.

I prefer Alakazam. Gardevoir has a nice design, that is a fact, but it looks "too human" for a Pokémon. I dunno...

I am also pretty sure they aren't supposed to represent any sex, after all, both of them can be male or female. And please people, stop calling Pokémon by "she" or "he", the correct is "it", unless you are referring to a Pokémon that can only have one gender, like the Kami Trio.

Who is the best battler?
It's very close to a tie in my opinion, but for both in-game and competitively I have to give the slight edge to Alakazam. Moveset, High Sp. Attack and Speed

Who has the dashing looks?
Alakazam, I don't like the looks very much of Gardevoir.

Who is the most satisfactory early psychic type?
Alakazam, such a asset in the games, especially Stadium 1 and Stadium 2. For both Main and Side games, it's been one of my biggest battle assets in-game.

Who represents better the sex they seem to symbolize?
Gardevoir in this case. Alakazam doesn't symbolize a male all that much to me. Gardevoir really looks very feminine.

Who is the best, overall?

Alakazam in both design and moveset.

Alakazam is a better battler as its Huge Sp.Atk along with speed can sweep almost anything

Gardeviour it looks like a peaceful one where as Alakazam to me looks like a kidnapper

Gardevour it has multiple evolutionary choices and also evolves easily

Alakazam you can see Boys who looks like girls but never girls with 'stache

I like Gardevoir better and I have used it in my teams much more than Alakazam I am not saying that Gardeviour is stronger I am saying I like it better it is one of my favs
