The fact that this Annoying Orange tribute act enjoyed as much support over the course of the election is a sign that the US still has work to do before I can take the country seriously again. Of course the man responsible is on track to become the first unseated incumbent of over 20 years and the new guy is someone with a mental age of at least double figures, but the Trump legacy clearly remains and will perhaps tarnish the nation for the unforeseeable future. I'd be so relieved if this vile beast is somehow unable to run in 2024.

Basic bloody rule of democracy: Loyalty to the office of leadership itself, whatever your country decides to call the office, should always be held above personal loyalties to any holder of said office. No exceptions. The impeachment kerfuffle told me where the interests of the Republican Party truly stand. There's no way they deserve to be called the Grand Old Party anymore.

Sorry for the double post, but I've just heard about the now-deleted YouTube video where Trump's former top advisor Steve Bannon had some very... alarming things to say regarding FBI director Christopher Wrey and leading Coronavirus expert Anthony Fauci. I'm hiding the quotes because they're actually kinda fucked up, even for a Trump ally.

"I’d actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England, I’d put the heads on pikes, right, I’d put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats. You either get with the program or you’re gone – time to stop playing games.”
He then backed up his words with:
"That’s how you won the revolution. No one wants to talk about it. The revolution wasn’t some sort of garden party, right? It was a civil war. It was a civil war."

Whether it's a genuine threat or just nostalgia for the days when a ruler was not accountable to their people, I'd like to take this moment and assure everyone that we in Britain don't condone his utterly barbaric fantasies even though this is the same country that elected Diet Trump in a landslide last year. I would certainly never call us the United Kingdom right now (thanks to Brexit) but at least we're not the United Kingdom of Terrorists. This is an act you would likely see in the, as Trump once called them, "shithole countries".

This is why Trumpism as a whole needs to go. Zero regards for law and democracy.

I find it ironic that he's citing England when the US was founded by gaining independence from Britain...

An update on the NY Times election map indicates that Arizona's counts will be continued tomorrow. I don't know how many more days of this I can take.

Joe Biden is about 1700 votes from taking the lead in Georgia! Also, John Lewis would be so proud of his state. He is 37K also from taking the lead in Pennsylvania.

Edit: 27K in Pennsylvania

Hahahahaha!

In a response to one of Donald Trump's all caps Twitter rants (yes he really is that volatile right now), his climate change nemesis Greta Thunberg has replied with "So ridiculous. Donald must work on his Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill!", reversing what he said about her 11 months ago. It's genuinely one of the best things I've seen all year and also encapsulates just how off his rocker he is.

1200 votes away in Georgia and 18K away in Pennsylvania. Is this it!? Is this really gonna happen!?

Edit: 665. 665 VOTES!!!

Biden is now officially leading in Georgia.

Get fucked Trump. I'm glad Jimmy Carter lived to see Georgia turn blue again.

EDIT: There's gonna pour a lot of money into Georgia now to flip over those two senate seats.

John McCain and John Lewis would have both been pleased to see their home states potentially flipping away from Donald Trump's control, I'm sure. I hope they really do go blue.

If Biden wins Georgia then it's game over for Trump. Just wining Nevada would've been enough, but now that he's flipped Georgia and could potentially claim Pennsylvania on top of Nevada means that Trump's chance to keep the While House has gone down the drain.

That said, the orange oompa loompa will most likely try to pull the Supreme Court card as a last-ditch strategy, but, hopefully, the Supreme Court will side with the facts and not with Trump himself, even if they're so disgustingly conservative. Considering that they have sided against him in a few occasions does mean that they're not blindly loyal to Trump, which is what he would rather have. On a more humorous note, some of Trump's lawsuits against the states that Biden won ended up getting his attempt at dictatorship tossed right out, calling it pointless, so that at least keeps places like Wisconsin and Michigan safe and still within Biden's grip. We just need to wait a little bit longer and it'll finally be over.

Biden just took the lead in Pennsylvania! It looks like this may be the clincher given the overwhelming trends of Pennsylvania toward Biden since the mail-in votes began to be counted.

Big news just happened. Biden flipped Pennsylvania! This is huge! It means Biden has pretty much won the election. Sure, it hasn't been "officially" claimed yet but the fact that Biden now has more than enough electoral votes within his grasp means we can finally rest easily. The day (and the world) have been saved from a tyrant.

Unfortunately, he's still got until January to throw a tantrum. Who knows what he'll think of in his roid rage.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I can actually see him maybe trying to torch the White House under the mentality "If I can't have it, no one can". Grated, that probably won't happen, but I'm very much aware that Dum-Dum Donald will probably try to pull every last dirty trick in the book to keep his "godhood". Let's just hope that he ended up wasting every single remaining day in his rule on trying (and hopefully failing) to temper tantrum his way into keeping power.

If Biden carries PA, GA, AZ, and NV as is looking likely, he'll win by 306 electoral votes - the same amount that Trump won by in 2016.

Since we may not manage to get what we need congressionally from this election, I'll take whatever result is most psychologically taxing to Trump as a consolation prize.

On that note, Twitter has also said that when he leaves office, his account loses all of the special protections it's been able to rely on.

Currently according to CNN, Biden in PA at a lead of 0.1%. That's insane to say. It looks like he's going win every state still counting except North Carolina.

Honestly, while I have a strong feeling and it looks like Biden is going to win, can this just end already? I rather be less racked with worry that the buffoon is somehow going to take the presidency again. Well, we're most likely going to be either more worried the country is going to burn down due to Trump loses and him rallying his terrorist supporters to take the back the win.

Ugh, I heard Antarctica is good this time of year.

Honestly, for Biden to just barely eke it out like this is kinda embarrassing. It just goes to show that yes he won, but another Democratic candidate who actually campaigned on more than just "not being Donald Trump" would have done WAY better.

And even if PA, NC, and GA all flip to Biden after it's all said & done, it doesn't look like the Democrats are going to retake the Senate - maybe they'll get to 50-50 if they win both of the GA runoffs, but in that case, as one person put it "they'd basically be spending at least the next 2 years desperately hoping that Joe Mansion (?) votes with them".
