I am not defending Trump, I just think half of your claims against him are ridiculous.

You're not even bothering to say which parts are incorrect. All you do is accuse others of being biased, a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle.

I think it’s worth pointing out that Cummings’ district is the second-wealthiest African-American district in the country, and well above the national average in terms of education and household income. So even if Trump’s latest comments aren’t racist, they are further evidence of his...ineptitude (to be polite).

Unfortunately, stupidity doesn't excuse racism. And Trump's racism is extensively documented over the decades.

I am, however, glad that both the public and the media are no longer afraid to loudly call it as it is: racism.

I officially declare your post as racist. Therefore, you are now a racist, because I say so. I don't need solid evidence to prove it. I just need to repeat it long enough :p

I want to spend a brief moment describing The Racism Waltz. It’s a three-part program brought to you by Trump and his defenders.

Step one: Say something racist.

This starts off with dog-whistling with “urban,” moves on through “gang bangers” and “welfare queens” to arrive at “Mexicans are rapists,” American citizens should “go back” to where they belong, and other steamboat whistle blasts of the Trump era.

Step two: Deny that it’s racist.

Because there is no color word in there. Urban? That’s just people who live in cities. Welfare queens can be any color, right? Mexican isn’t a race, that’s nationalism! And, of course America, love it or leave it, is just a fine bumper sticker saying. Race? Who said anything about race? Many Republicans have defined down “racism” to saying the N-word. And if when Trump does that, they’ll move the markers again.

Step three: Call racism on the person who said racism.

Who was the first person to say something about race? No, not the person talking about shithole countries, or the person telling women of color to get out, or the person describing a majority black district as rat-infested. See step two. The real racist is the person who mentioned racism. Because they are “the one who brought race into this whole thing.”

With each repeat of this little dance, Donald Trump and his followers feel better about themselves. They get to attack people of color, they get to attack anyone who objects to the attack, and they get to declare themselves the wounded party.

This was an entertaining read.

But Trump's rats/infested comment still isn't racist, though.

It's still racist, as I explained here.

You need to actually disprove what I said. Just repeating an empty declaration like you're doing right now is toothless. It makes everyone else think you have no arguments at all.

That’s the point of a dog whistle; it’s not immediately obvious to people who aren’t familiar these tactics. (It’s a fairly common strategy in the Deep South, where I live)
People are just trying too hard to find racism everywhere.

Just to be clear, I am sure dog whistling exists.

But when it's so subtle that most people don't get it, chances are, it wasn't a dog whistle to begin with.

I feel like some of Trump's tweets are taken out of context on purpose due to peoples' bias. That infestation tweet that he recently made was just him being wrong in general, but people are spinning it to make him appear racist. And I'm saying this as a POC.

That said, I would never vote for him since I don't vote in general because I don't trust politicians, period. I just think that people should find some other way to take Trump down instead of always trying to paint him as the new Hitler or whatever, because personal attacks against him aren't working and it only enables his fanbase.

And I say that he only uses the word "infestation" when talking about POC, and never about white people. Even Fox News has now noticed.

White House acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on Sunday insisted that Donald Trump's smears on non-white members of Congress have nothing to do with their race.
In an interview on Fox News, host Chris Wallace challenged Mulvaney on the president's recent assertion that Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) represented a rat-infested district where no one would want to live.

Wallace brought the conversation back to Trump's attacks on members of "The Squad," four congresswomen who have been critical of Trump.
"Nobody objects to the president defending his border policy but this seems to be the worst kind of racial stereotype," Wallace said. "Racial stereotyping. Black congressman, majority black district. I mean, no human being would want to live there? Is he saying the people who live in Baltimore are not human beings?"

Mulvaney argued that Trump should not be called a racist for attacking members of The Squad because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has also had disagreements with them.

"You say it has zero to do with race," Wallace pressed.
"There is a clear pattern here."

Wallace reminded Mulvaney that Trump had attacked Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and his "crime-infested" district before his inauguration.
"Then, two weeks ago he goes after these four members of 'The Squad,' all women of color, and says they should go back to the crime-infested countries from which they come," Wallace continued. "Then he talks about Elijah Cummings and he says his district is rat- and rodent-infested. It sounds like vermin. It sounds subhuman and these are all six members of Congress for People of Color."

"I think you’re spending way too much time reading between the lines," Mulvaney replied.

"I’m not reading between the lines, I’m reading the lines," Wallace shot back.

People are just trying too hard to find racism everywhere.
The thing is that a number of issues in the US have become heavily racialized over the years, and poverty is one of them. There are a lot of Americans who think of poverty as a problem largely for blacks, even if reality doesn’t necessarily support it.

But I don't like Trump xD And I don't have biases against Marxists. I only pity how deluded they are.

So you're wrong, as usual.
marxism is a far more cogent belief set than whatever you’re trying to argue for right now

Not too loud, or else Lindsey Graham will call you a commie too.

In 2015, Lindsey Graham called Donald Trump “a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot.” In the intervening years, Trump has done nothing to refute this characterization, yet Graham has refashioned himself as Trump’s favorite senatorial pet. In the wake of Trump’s latest racist tirade, Graham appeared on Fox & Friends to deliver a supportive pep talk to the president. “We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of communists,” he ranted, in a performance so obsequious that a delighted Trump tweeted out quotations of it in four parts.

Isn't it funny? That the same people who insist on a very narrow definition of racism or else it will "lose all meaning due to overuse", are also the same folks who throw around terms like "communism" and "marxism" with reckless abandon.

It's almost like folks such as Graham are dishonest hypocrites who can only argue in bad faith.

I think it’s clear by now Republicans just use the term “socialism/communism/Marxism” for anything they don’t like. Hell, Mitch McConnell recently said Puerto Rico and DC statehood would be “full-bore socialism.”

Republicans spent years calling Obamacare socialism - Obamacare was Mitt Romney’s heritage foundation authored healthcare plan, and still, they called it socialism

Marxism is a very dangerous belief system, that was at the very core of the Communist massacres during the 20th century, that killed millions of innocent people worldwide, especially in Russia (Lenin, Stalin) and China (Mao), among many others like Cambodia, South America, and the entire Eastern Europe (which is where I was born, so I know what I'm talking about).

Therefore, Marxism is just as dangerous as Fascism: they're the two sides of the same coin: power-hungry ideologies that only seek for POWER, and should be avoided and exposed.

The real issue though, is that while Fascism and Nazism are very obvious and therefore easy to detect and avoid, Communism and Marxism are harder to expose because they lie to the masses, and fool millions of people worldwide, unfortunately.

I'm not one of those who treats Socialism as a synonym to Marxism/Communism, but it's a fact that nowadays, Marxism and Communism always come disguised as harmless "Socialism", making it even harder to detect them, and separate them from actual Socialism.

Also, @Beer&Nyquil why do you attack my personal belief system, when I haven't even shared it here? How can you talk about something you don't know about? LOL

Your reply is very passive-aggressive.

This is a dumb derail and I expect another thread lock before too long, but whatever...

Can you even define "marxism"? Nowhere does Karl Marx advocate genocides. You might as well blame Jesus and the Bible for the Crusades and the massacres it caused, or capitalism for colonialism and exploitation of weaker nations.

Also, I actually currently live in Eastern Europe, unlike you who was just born there.

Therefore, Marxism is just as dangerous as Fascism: they're the two sides of the same coin: power-hungry ideologies that only seek for POWER, and should be avoided and exposed.

Again, you can't even properly define marxism, so I wouldn't be surprised if you had likewise problems with defining fascism, especially since Trump and his cult is sliding the US down into fascism with every new concentration camp built.

The real issue though, is that while Fascism and Nazism are very obvious and therefore easy to detect and avoid, Communism and Marxism are harder to expose because they lie to the masses, and fool millions of people worldwide, unfortunately.

You wouldn't detect any of those even if they hit you in your face. You're already blind to Trump's racism, and you accuse everyone that isn't Fox News of being "leftist". Your definition of those political terms is complete gibberish.

I'm not one of those who treats Socialism as a synonym to Marxism/Communism, but it's a fact that nowadays, Marxism and Communism always come disguised as harmless "Socialism", making it even harder to detect them, and separate them from actual Socialism.

Jesus, you absolutely don't know the difference between Socialism and Communism. Are you channeling Joseph McCarthy?

Also, @Beer&Nyquil why do you attack my personal belief system, when I haven't even shared it here? How can you talk about something you don't know about? LOL

Your reply is very passive-aggressive.

Pot called kettle. Plus the fact you believe everyone who disagrees with you is automatically "leftist", even though you don't know anything about them.

And you caused it, by bringing Marxism into yesterday's discussion. After the subject was dropped a week ago.

Also, I actually currently live in Eastern Europe, unlike you who was just born there.
I currently live in Bulgaria, Eastern Europe. You should fact check first. :)
Again, you can't even properly define marxism
Enjoy!

I see you really can't handle a debate without resorting to cheap baits and insults. Someone posted something in your Democratic safe-space (aka this thread), and you just can't handle it like a mature person.

You're the one who shouts "leftist" whenever someone disagrees with you.

PragerU video

PragerU releases one video per week on various topics from a conservative viewpoint. It generally does not cover contemporary American politics or current events in the news. For example, until 2019, PragerU had no videos about Donald Trump. Each video costs between $25,000 and $30,000 to create.

Videos on PragerU have defended capitalism, argued against a $15 minimum wage, argued that gun ownership is a constitutional right, and argued that the media cannot be trusted. In one video, a presenter argues that "racism, bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia, and Islamophobia" are "meaningless buzzwords". In a video on the alt-right, a PragerU presenter argues that it is similar to the American Left, saying "the alt-Right has nothing in common with conservatism, and is in fact much closer to leftism... Except of course, the left is much, much larger." In 2018, PragerU published an anti-immigration video by Michelle Malkin, a conservative known for defending the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.

Other PragerU videos defend the Electoral College, arguing that "pure democracies do not work" and that the Electoral College thwarts voter fraud. Still other videos argue against the scientific consensus on climate change, police discrimination toward African-Americans, and the existence of a gender pay gap.

@Poké Boss, you need to do better than posting an far-right and delusional propaganda video about marxism.

So far you're only proved that I was right when I said your knowledge about socialism is straight out of Joseph McCarthy.

I see you really can't handle a debate without resorting to cheap baits and insults. Someone invaded your Democratic safe-space, and you just can't handle it like a mature person.

Again, you've been the one who kept insulting people as "leftists" whenever they dared to disagree with you.

You're the one who shouts "leftist" whenever someone disagrees with you.
You brought Marxism into yesterday's discussion. Now deal with it, and don't act all surprised if the thread does get locked.
So far you're only proved that I was right when I said your knowledge about socialism is straight out of Joseph McCarthy.
I suggest you to calm down, and stop shouting alt-right at anyone who disagrees with you. I couldn't care less about Prager U and their political views, but their description of Marxism in this video is spot on.

As I said, I'm blocking you. Bye!
