One thing that I've noticed about some anime is that the background music is changed for the English dub. Pokemon is a notable offender, especially in the earlier seasons. The original English dubs of Sailor Moon (for the first two seasons) and Dragon Ball Z also changed the background music. This practice seems to be becoming less common, since more recent anime dubs are retaining the original background music. Many redubs of older anime (like the Viz dub of Sailor Moon) tend to retain the original music that the older dubs didn't. Strangely, this seems to mostly be an English dubbing thing, since a lot of other dubbed languages, such as Spanish, German, and Italian, seem to retain the original music.

How do you guys feel about anime dubbing companies changing background music in dubs? Does it ever annoy you?

Are there any anime where you prefer the dub soundtrack to the original one?
