Anime & Manga General Discussion

This is your casual reminder that openings getting constant updates is not consistent between series.

Well...... Most probably that won't happen this January.....

Horrible fans still exist and have become even crueler than before....
I am actually rethinking if I want to attend the Poke-Con......
And at the end I chose to attend, decided to give them a last chance.

The Poke-Con is over, without horrible incidents to my relief.

However the organisers still went ahead with banning anything related to Gou, from merchandising to cosplays.
They even edited official art, and anime screenshots, to remove him and his starters.

And most of the cosplayers went as Kimetsu no Yaiba characters.
It seems that the KnY Mania is not going to end any time soon.

What do you think happens if Team Rocket are such impulsive idiots enough they've overused their Rocket Prize Master Pokémon to petrify Ash's Dracovish into a stone, obliterating it into smithereens because they have amusedly insulted it by mistaking for a "strange big-headed false creature"?

I doubt that'll happen.

That's......never going to happen. Ever.

While I'm glad that the con went without anny horrible incidents, the fact that they were still willing to go that far with banning anything Goh related still makes me think that it isn't the kind of con you'd want to support. If they think that the problem is with Goh fans instead of the bullies who were harassing people for the crime of liking Goh, then the organizers are a big part of the problem.

That’s... weirdly specific

Or maybe instead Giovanni has originally sent Team Rocket off onto their mission to steal both Ash's Dracovish and Goh's Arctozolt to send them to Giovanni to sell them for his profit because Giovanni discovered the ones, think that they're the weirdest Pokémon that he never saw until Team Rocket have failed their mission from Giovanni is because Ash and Goh let Dracovish and Arctozolt, respectively, to send them off fading away on permanent vacation into hiding, rendering them as no longer making their comeback so that they've prevented Team Rocket from their attempt to steal them. What do you think happens if Team Rocket fails?

Ash looks so good in this video, I really love the slight tweak to the original artstyle...

Ash's old look is just so iconic, every time they do a widespread promotion featuring Ash, they always revert to a variation on the old look, they should just take the plunge and use this artstyle for the anime instead.

Edit: Also, there's Ritchie and Casey in the crowd! While the match looks like it takes place in the stadium for the Silver Conference! I really love these references in the video!

Ash looks 10x better here than he does in the current main series.

From the description it seems like that's a teaser for a larger work, though it sounds like said work is going to be held in venues and may not be easily viewed.
Edit: Seems like it's a collaboration between a New York artist and the OS director.

That New York artist is quite skilled, they should hire him/her for Journeys.

This seems to be really interesting, more than anything Journeys has tried.

What a skilled artist; Satoshi looks like himself once again, since the disastrous SM Artshift.

Loved seeing Hiroshi there. I wish that they could have done more with him.

Honestly, my first thought was more about how an animated trailer for a event in Tokyo is legally subbed yet we still don't have that for the main series. Maybe they knew that the more nostalgic designs for Ash and the cameos in the stands would attract attention and wanted people to understand what was being said, but it still seems kind of weird to me.

One minute of this footage is better than the entirety of SM and JN. Can they do this with the XY style? I would kill for more of this.

DANG this looks cool, the animation here is really stunning. I love how this feels both very familiar but entirely modern at the same time. I did notice the Silver Conference stadium, Johto appreciation is always very welcome in my book.

Plus just seeing Casey and Ritchie acknowledged in ANY form is a little bit shocking LOL

Edit: Now that I'm looking at this on my computer screen, I can see that Gary is in the crowd too :bulbaLove:
