I keep changing my mind, but I'm pretty tempted to get it right now seeing as I'm up at 2am on November 19 and not very tired.

I'm not getting either. For the first time ever I'm not feeling any personal excitement for a main series Pokémon game whatsoever, even though the original Diamond and Pearl hold a special place in my heart for being the first main series game I ever owned (Diamond specifically). There is just nothing I feel excited about, since I feel I already played this exact game and the minimal changes and improvements do little to nothing to change that feeling. Add to that that I'm not a fan of the artstyle (to say the least) and I honestly feel it's a regression for Pokémon.

I'm super excited for Legends: Arceus though and I don't think I have been this excited for a Pokémon game in a long time, so that makes up for it and I hope that game at least delivers.

Will buy a used copy in 2023-2024, after Gen 9 games.
There will be some Shining Pearl copies for 35-40$ out there, so I'll just wait.

i think that if you liked the DS games you might as well.

I liked the DS games but some of my favorite features that I wanted a remake for have been cut and replaced with less interesting features which break the pacing on the game.

Probably not. I try not to oversaturate with Pokémon games (I usually play a maximum of one every year) and I want to save my attention (and money) for LoA

Definitely not getting either of these. The only incentive I would have for touching one would be if you need them to unlock something in Legends (like the Shaymin bonus for having Sword or Shield), and... that might be tough, because it seems like all of my friends are also not planning to get them and will just borrow from someone else for the save if they need it.
