hi, canisaries here, i'm a digital artist. i don't draw strictly pokemon art that often (i don't count twitch plays pokemon since people outside the community usually won't get them - and yes, twitch plays pokemon did continue after red and crystal, it's still going), but when i do, it's often fusions, predictions or other designs. as you can probably guess from that, i love pokemon for its character design element.

if you are interested in seeing more of my work, here is my deviantart and here is my tumblr (gore warning). i no longer use my tumblr, but it has some pictures i never put on dA, so i'm sharing it anyway. i'm also on reddit by the same name as here, where my art can be seen in my submissions. (gore warning there too.)

I can see why that Oricorio got so popular, I love it haha. And damn I want that Fletchinder/Charizard fusion to be real.

- learn color theory (and don't shade with black)
- always think 3D
- study photo reference
- DO NOT reference other artists' works (this includes anime. everyone should know the basics before stylization)
- learn anatomy and proportions
- learn composition techniques
- conserve detail: only add detail in parts where the focus is (for both the work's and the artist's sake)
- receive, accept and implement criticism
- draw all kinds of things, not just your favorite things
- experiment like CRAZY: it's the only way to find new techniques
- you'll never be perfect but you'll get closer all the time

also: watch every free video from proko and ctrl+paint

I want to lick that face too. :O

Your lines are quite fluid and your drawings are so full of life and personality with their humorous elements. But you also have amazing coloring. And God, that facial study is... absolutely amazing. It is top notch. Not only that, but you're quite good at designing anthropormophic monster people. Your sense of design is really on-point and unique. I've never seen anything quite like that squidsona, and the colors meld together really nicely. I also highly enjoy the snake Arbok guy and you've even managed to create an actually good anthro version of Omanyte, which is something I didn't think was possible. Absolutely incredible.

i like cephalopods a lot, i think they're really cute and interesting. people don't draw enough squid anthros, which is strange considering how much the internet loves tentacles wink wink
