Ascend the Mountains of Power in Pokémon GO from Jan 7th-13th

Niantic has announced the Mountains of Power event for Pokémon GO, which continues the current storyline from the Season of Heritage. Spark's intuition has lead him to believe that the mysterious door's second mechanism will require the help of Rock- and Steel-type Pokémon to unlock. This event will be taking place between January 7th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to January 13th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The event will feature Timed Research focused on catching Pokémon, hatching Eggs, and earning Buddy Candy that will reward encounters with Pokémon like Mawile and Beldum; and event-exclusive Field Research tasks. Additionally, only 1/2 walking distance will be required to earn hearts with the buddy Pokémon.
