This is the story of a school were students go to learn miraculous powers. Some of them are humans born with traits of Pokemon, known as Gijinka. Some of them are humans who have trained to attain similar powers, known as Aura Users. And some of them have close bonds with Pokemon, enough to be able to take on their forms. The Pokemorphs. This is the story of these miraculous students and their adventures.
The World
The world this RP takes place in is more or less the same as the Pokemon world we see in the games. One addition is the Gijinka and Pokemorphs. These people are accepted throughout most of the world, though some regions stigmatize them. It's rare, but it happens. Most people realize that if nothing else, their talents can be useful to society. There are many facilities for educating Gijinka, Pokemorphs, and Aura Users throughout the world.
Another difference is that Legendaries are much more intelligent and powerful. They can take human form, and sometimes take a direct hand in the affairs of mankind.

The Academy
Aura Academy lies on Lemon Island in the Orange Archipelago. Considered one of the best schools for Trainers, Aura Users, Pokemorphs, and Gijinka, it's easy to see why. The huge facility is well-funded, with luxurious conditions and some of the best of the best as teachers. It's surrounded by forest and lake, so students can go out and catch Pokemon. The school also has watercraft the students can borrow to visit the other islands of the archipelago.
The Students:
Anyone can come to Aura Academy. While it's a private school, they hand out scholarships very often, and getting in isn't all that expensive. The school is known mostly for it's programs on education of Gijinka, Aura Users, Trainers, and Pokemorphs.
Aura Users Aura Users are humans who have trained in the use of the energy known as Aura. Arceus granted Pokemon extraodinary powers. Through the use of Aura, humans can tap into that boon, and gain powers such as flight, control of flames, or the power to summon storms, among others. This training can take the form of meditation, physical exercise, special treatments, or other things. Each Aura User has an element. One of the eighteen Pokemon types, this has much the same effect as a Pokemon type: It determines resistances and weaknesses, and also makes moves of that type stronger. As Aura Users are human, they cannot Mega Evolve. However, after completing a certain ritual, Aura Users can unlock a power called Full Force, allowing them to surpass their limits in much the same way Pokemon can by Mega Evolving.
Gijinka Sometimes, human children are born with traits similar to Pokemon. They may have sharp fangs, or a pair of animal-like ears, or strange eyes, or tails. While uncommon, this is typically considered a blessing. These people are called Gijinka. These creatures have powers much like their base Pokemon. A Charizard Gijinka could breathe fire, and may even have wings that let them fly. Meanwhile, a Voltorb Gijinka might be able to power electronics. Aside from being mostly human, there are other differences Gijinka have from regular Pokemon. Most of them are born as first-stage Pokemon. They can evolve, but it doesn't do much in terms of raw power. Evolution in Gijinka is caused by emotional development. It can be induced by great joy, such as falling in love or learning you won a contest. It can also be brought on by great trauma, such as loss of a loved one. On that note, any Gijinka can Mega Evolve. But in addition to a Mega Stone, they must undergo intense training.
Pokemorphs Pokemorphs are humans who have been blessed by a Legendary with the power to talk to and turn into a Pokemon. This typically happens when a Legendary is nearby and a human does something that pleases it. This is typically something like helping a Pokemon in need. But it can be something more obscure than that: Darkrai may be impressed with a human's ability to frighten others, and grant them the power to turn into a Pokemorph. Shaymin might just decide to grant you power if you have a nice garden. Pokemorphs can turn into different Pokemon. Most of them are granted one form by the legendary to start out with. To gain more, they must serve other Pokemon. Protecting a forest with lots of Pidgey in it would likely allow a Pokemorph to take a form of the bird Pokemon, while helping a baby Buneary find its mother would possibly grant the Pokemorph the form of a Buneary. Individual forms evolve in the same way Pokemon normally do: By battling. They also Mega Evolve normally using a mega stone. However, without special training, a Mega Evolved Pokemorph will go berserk, attacking anyone in sight. Also, Pokemorphs can only Mega Evolve while in the form of a Pokemon that could also Mega Evolve. Finally, between transformations, a Pokemorph has a cooldown period. Most Pokemorphs can only transform once a minute, though very good ones only need a matter of seconds.
Trainers Trainers are just humans that train Pokemon. Many professions also require that one be an adept trainer: Professors, Rangers, all of them need to understand Pokemon. While Aura Users, Gijinka, and Pokemorphs all could have Pokemon, they usually don't have the time to train them to be as powerful as a Trainer's. And while Pokemorphs may be able to turn into and speak with Pokemon, good trainers can understand their Pokemon just as well with intuition. In other words, a Trainer and a Gijinka with equal training could fight, and it might go either way. |
Rules:
-All BMGF rules apply.
-No god-modding, no auto-hitting. Try to keep your character at the same power level as the others. And don't hog the spotlight too much.
-Try to keep things PG-13. No hanky-panky. Hugging and kissing is okay.
-RPing is about having fun. But RPing well is about making sure everyone has fun.
-If you read the rules, mention the name of your character's mother in your SU. You won't get rejected if you don't, but I'll know that you did and I'll think that you're a cool guy.

Sign-Ups:
Put as much as you feel comfortable adding for each category. More is usually better, since these will tell other RPers and me about your character, and also provide a chance for you to get in on worldbuilding. You can either be a teacher or a first-year student. Should you choose to be a teacher, I must warn that the focus will be largely on the students. As such, there won't be a lot of focus on classes.
Aura Guardian:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Personality:
History:
Element: What element does your character use? It can be any Type, whether Normal or Dark or Fire. Your character can learn moves from other types, but moves they use from their own type are stronger. A Guardian can only have one type. They inherit that types weaknesses and resistances. A Fire-type Guardian would take more damage from Water attacks, but less from Grass-types.
Moves: An Aura Guardian can know up to four moves. List each one, and describe exactly what it does here. A single move can do different things depending on who uses it. When one Guardian uses Shadow Ball, they might charge up a ball of darkness and fire it at an opponent. But a different guardian might shoot smaller balls at a faster wait, or use concentration to generate Shadow Balls that slowly follow enemies around.

Example
Name: Joshua Joeman
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Joshua is average height, but nonetheless comes off as imposing. First off, he's pretty muscular. Not huge. He's toned and athletic. He also has a bad case of Male Resting Bitch Face. He rarely smiles, and usually looks pissed off. He has a small scar over his left eyebrow. His black hair is perpetually in a medium-length mop, and it 'so the same color as his dark eyes. Josh's skin is tan, because he spends a lot of time outside, skipping class to train.
Personality: Josh has a lot of anger built up. He's never had a good way of releasing it. He tries to only take his anger out only on people who he thinks are asking for it. He tries to be nice. Sometimes he's good at it, other times he's just not sure how. He enjoys fighting, and he's very knowledgable at combat sports. Josh also has a low opinion of authority figures. He doesn't like being ordered around. If he does something, it's not gonna be because he's asked to. It's gonna be because something he cares about is on the line. He has a strong sense of justice, and he likes to tackle problems head on. Like many boys his age, he likes comic books and video games.
History: Josh is a bastard child. His mom spent most of her time drinking or at work, so he didn't have a lot of guidance as a kid. When he was little his mom sometimes left him alone, and it just so happened that the only thing that was on during those times was usually boxing. So Josh got really interested in combat sports.
Josh was pretty small when he was younger, and the cool kids picked on him because he was poor. It got worse when they found out he didn't have a dad. He started working out at about middle school, and learning how to fight, and eventually he didn't get picked on anymore. But he kept going. Every day, he pushed himself a little farther, until he unlocked the power of Aura. Shortly after, he got a scholarship to the academy. Now he's entering his first year.
Element: Fighting
Moves:
Arm Thrust: Edward launches a series of powerful punches at a much faster rate than any human is capable of.
Endure: Allows Edward to endure attacks far beyond that which a normal person can. In practice, this power means that injuries don't affect him much. They still hurt, but they won't actually weaken him or slow him down.
Bullet Punch: Edward launches an incredibly fast punch, while his aura hardens his fist, giving it a metallic coat for a few seconds.
Teleport: Edward teleports a short distance. He must be able to see where he's teleporting to.
