Bad Ad Reporting Thread

I got this while browsing the wiki. I was signed in and was looking at my edit history when it came up (you can even see the url I was at). Is this considered a bad ad?

If you were signed in, you shouldn't be getting any ads at all from Bulbapedia. I don't suppose you clicked the "Why did I recieve this survey" link at the bottom of it? My guess would be that it's resulting from a toolbar/add-on you have installed, rather than from Bulbapedia.

If it is coming from our servers though, then yes. They shouldn't be in the middle of the page like that.

Assuming you were signed in, then it's impossible for the ad to have been served by our site. Nevertheless, I'll keep an eye on this just in case. We don't have pop-up's or intersitals, so ads shouldn't appear like that even if it was a legitimate ad (say, if you'd been signed out accidentally without you realizing). If anyone else sees it, let me know.

Regarding the Scorecard Research image above. This script (bar the newlines I added) is included in each BP page requested as a guest, so "it shouldn't appear even for guests" doesn't sound quite right.

I can't reproduce the bug - it happened when my girlfriend tried to go from the Vanilluxe page to the Deerling page using the links at the top of species pages. I don't need feedback or anything, but this should be looked into, I suppose...

That's not the IP address of Bulbagarden, or even close to it. It's probably the IP address of an ad. Can @Archaic look into it?

No, they are most certainly not. There should be no pop-ups on the site whatsoever.
