"Yeah, come on, then, little feller!" He readied his arms for the baby.
Sin kissed Ciôn again, proud of Fae and Alex. A thought occurred to her.
"You don't think we're confusing Terri too much, do you? I mean, acting like the married couple we are, she might mistake us for her parents. She might think you're her Daddy!"
Ciôn nodded his understanding.
"Oh, no, you think I'm a freak, don't you?" he said, worried as the Pichu eyed him. "Cry if you're going to, but I'm not going to hurt you."
He rocked Nick gently in his arms.
"We're almost cousins!" he told him.
He looked down at Nick, and started back towards Fae, but he tripped over a wire on the floor and fell forwards. He held Nick clear of the impact, above his head. This meant that Nick didn't get hurt, but Munrö was hit in the face by the floor. He got up and sheepishly gave the Pichu back to Fae, begging silently that Nick shouldn't cry or hold it against him.
Terri fell asleep in the Raichu's arms, and started to purr.
Nick was slightly scared by the creature's fumble, and looked nervous.
“Uh...” I actually hadn't thought of that. “Wait just a sec.” I headed out of the room. A moment later, I arrived with two nicely handmade cots, not yet painted. “What d'ya think?”
Terri squeaked, “Pi!” Nick squeaked, “Chu!” I grinned. They did look cute together, so I guessed that this meant Faere only wanted one cot, so I walked out and put one cot away. A moment later, I came back, the cot painted black and light yellow, a Pichu's colors.
Munrö came over and looked at the twins sleeping in the cot, and lightly tickled Nick's tuft of hair again, not enough to wake him, then leaving the room and going to his own.
Faere picked up the cot, and carried it into her room. She was very pleased with the two Pichus. She pulled the covers over them, encouraging them to sleep. She laid on her bed, and went to sleep herself.
Sin led Ciôn back to their room for the time being as well.
"Fae's had some cute kids," he said to his wife. "But, just like Munrö, they were born before their parents married. Why do I not call them what that makes them? Well...Pichus have large ears, they'd probably hear me and Fae would accuse me of teaching them swear words."
"Funny thing is, I wasn't going to comment. But they are cute, if a little creepy. I mean, one goes 'Pi' and the other finishes with 'chu'. Weheheheird. Plus, that Nick has a strange hair thing going on. I think Terri's my favourite."
"Mine too...but we shouldn't let Alex or Fae know that, or Nick might wind up getting jealous and we'd get the blame."
Faere woke up the next morning. She checked the cot, and the children were still asleep. She quietly got out of bed, and checked to see if anyone else was awake.
