"Maybe it's just the common cold. If so, you'll be fine."
'And besides,' she thought, not saying a word on this subject. 'I don't think anywhere in MoonVille sells pregnancy tests. Still, chances are she's just a little under the weather. Why am I so obsessed with her having a child? She's barely out of the cot herself...literally!'
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, unnerved. "I was just lost in thought! Don't tell me you don't get like that sometimes?" She sidled slowly toward the exit of the room, hoping to get out before Fae said something else.
"I'm not thinking that anymore!" she insisted. Perhaps, for her own sake, she should change the subject. "Fae's not your full name, is it? Remember when Cresselia came here? She called you something else. I won't judge; Sin's not even my name, either...Anyway, I was just curious..."
"Well, okay. I'll tell you my real name on one condition," she said, half-closing her eyes. "Please don't tell anyone else...Right now, in this world, it's between me, Ciôn, Star, and, apparently, Cresselia..."
"When I came to this world, I decided that I'd find Ciôn and marry him like we were going to when we were human, have my child, and settle down for a new life here. I didn't want people to remind me of how it used to be, where I saw very little of Ciôn, and the weather was always cold and we didn't have very much money. Here, it doesn't matter. But I don't want to be reminded of how it used to be every time someone wants to talk to me. Plus, it makes me sound like some sort of doll."
Sin looked at Fae with a 'Me? Sarcastic? Noooo...' sort of expression. "Yes. I was already about nine months gone when I arrived, so the race was on to find Ciôn. Then I did, but only just in time."
"Good thing you did, eh?" Faere said jokingly. She winced again, and attempted to stand up. She walked off unsteadily to the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Sin nodded to herself as Fae left the room, then returned to her bedroom. As was his personality, Ciôn was still asleep, having not noticed Sin had left the room in the first place. He did sense her return, though, and cuddled up to her as she lay back down next to him, although she had no intention of going back to sleep.
