ooc;; it'll just be like one of the normal Hunger Games, starting at the reaping and then moving on to the interviews, meeting the mentors etc. I'll explain what the arena looks like when we come to it along with anything else.

If you could just post some very basic details about your character/s that'd be cool, but if not don't bother.

---

Name; Artemis
Gender; Male
District; 3
Age; 16
Personality; Intelligent, good with his hands, quick-witted, strategic, manipulative, introverted.
Appearance; Light brown hair, hazel eyes, pale skin, lithe figure, fairly tall.
Skills; Electronics, close-range weaponry, stealth.

---

Artemis wouldn't say he was surprised to be chosen as a tribute - after all, his name must've been in there a fair few times with all the additional tesserae he'd been getting for his family.

Nonetheless he was filled with a sort of horror as he stood there, gazing at the rest of District 3. At the same time it was sort of exciting, in a 'if I don't win I'll die' kind of way.

---

Name; Kate
Gender; Female
District; 5
Age; 14
Personality; Fairly harsh, strict, over-bearing, violent, short-tempered, sarcastic, cruel, intelligent, fast.
Appearance; Long, black hair, grey eyes, tanned skin, short, gaunt-looking, delicate figure.
Skills; Traps, long-range weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, speed.

---

Kate sighed, watching Layla walk up, expression grim. She sighed again, raising her hand.

"I'll volunteer as a tribute," she called out, a lone voice among the rest of the district.

Layla; 12 years old, and the sweetest little kid ever. Kate would know - she'd looked after her on occasion. But she had a huge family - brothers ad sisters who would miss her. Kate? She had nothing.

Nothing to lose, either.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak, -Gray- and ☠Woobat☠]

Name: Moonlight
Gender: Female
District:The one with the crops (Sorry been a while since I last read the books)
Age: 15
Personality: A girl that can turn any situation into a joke, sometimes. Easy going but also knows when to be quiet, really nice but has a temper...
Appearance: White hair, bright blue eyes, slightly muscular, and 5'6 in height.
Skills: Track animals, bow and arrow, stronger then most people, and can do acrobatics easily.

Moonlight's heart stopped when she heard her name. Walking forward, some of the kids tried to stop her. Looking at the smiling announcer, she went up there, wanting to rip the person's head off.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak, -Gray- and ☠Woobat☠]

Name; Cole (Hmm... I just now realized that that's a pun, considering his district.)
Gender; Male
District; 12
Age; 17
Personality; Cole has a more... interesting personality than most, as you'll see.
Cole considers himself a bit of a loner, although he has met plenty of people more introverted than himself. He prefers the company of a book or his laptop to the company of a large group of people, and sometimes gets pretty short-tempered when in the middle of a large crowd, so be careful if you see him in public. Cole also has a bit of a silver tongue, and can manipulate people with words. However, this silver tongue turns to lead when Cole is afraid and acid when he's angry, giving the impression of three different personalities.

First, there's cunning, manipulative Cole Jacobson, modest and slightly charming, as well as mysterious. He generally stays away from crowds and stays calm in even the most dangerous situations. He's a good leader and pretty strategic for someone of his age, and can inspire confidence in those around him.

Second, there's quiet, quick-to-flee Cole. He generally tries to stay clear of any awkward situation and diverts attention from himself in any way possible, whether it's changing the subject or rushing into a different room for a few minutes. Because of this, Cole is considered slightly shady, always avoiding conversations when possible. Even when he has to talk, Cole tends to leave the actual talking to someone else, although he listens attentively.

Finally, there's bold, quick-tempered Cole. He gets carried away in conversations, which generally makes chitchat deteriorate slowly into an argument. This personality slightly enjoys conflict, and will listen in and laugh softly at any argument. This version of Cole is the rarest, as he tries to keep out of arguments of any kind.

Cole is mortally afraid of heights, although sometimes this fear drives him to explore the highest areas possible. Contradictory, I know. He is very noble, and will do anything to resolve most fights quickly.
))
Appearance; Cole is slightly tall for his age, enough so that he gives off a slightly commanding aura. He is extremely thin, with no trace of fat anywhere on his body. You could literally count his ribs through his skin, and nearly every bone of his is visible from outside. No matter how much Cole eats, he never seems to put on much more weight or get any fatter. Believe me, he's tried. Cole has a slightly pale complexion that gets even paler when he's afraid. Because of Cole's thinness, his face appears slightly bony and prominent.

Cole has somewhat short dark brown hair. In the winter his hair appears black, although if you look closely you can see that it is still just an extremely dark brown. Cole's hair grows relatively fast in the front, so his eyes are normally covered a little by his hair. Cole does nothing to keep his hair out of his eyes, although as a small child he used to. Cole stopped once he realized how idiotic it looked to have his entire forehead exposed.

Cole has pure brown eyes that are several shades lighter than his hair. It's rumored that a single glare from Cole's eyes can quiet a whole room, although he tries his best to dispel these rumors. He's never said that it isn't true, though. Cole's eyes also almost radiate intelligence, and no one could ever guess how short-sighted he is. Cole normally wears contacts, although from time to time you might see him wearing glasses or neither.
Skills; Cole is amazing at sneaking around without anyone noticing, and is pretty good with computers and a bow and arrow. He's also skilled at knife throwing, but is somewhat incompetent with a knife when someone gets too close. He can run faster than most people and makes no sound or tracks while running.

Cole stood on the stage, gazing around at everyone in the square. He knew it was bound to happen someday, seeing as living on the streets with no family meant he needed a lot of tessera. Plus, seventeen meant that he had an even higher chance of being picked for the cruel murder known as the Hunger Games.

Cole wasn't really known much around town. When he did sneak deep into the woods to hunt every week or so, Cole kept most of it for himself and traded the rest for the necessities. He'd been living in the edge of the woods for more than a year now, ever since a fire started in his house, destroying the building and killing his family.

So now, as Cole looked into the crowd, he felt the gaze of thousands of people who wouldn't care one bit if he died or not. And yet, as Cole held those gazes so boldly, he felt something inside of his stir.

There were no ifs, and there would be none. With his district's support or without it, Cole was going to win the Hunger Games.

Artemis was deep in thought even as the mayor finally finished the 'Treaty of Treason', so he was somewhat surprised when a small nudge from behind pushed him forward to shake the hand of the other tribute. The girl is wide-eyed - clearly terrified, and he shoots her an assuring smile. She clasps his hand like it's a life-line and Artemis ponders exactly how long it'll take her to die.

The two of them turn to face the crowd as the the anthem of Panem plays.

---

Kate rolls her eyes at the dull recital of the 'Treaty of Treason'. She may have been scared witless but she wasn't about to show it. She clasps the other tribute's hands, sharing a knowing look with the boy. She half-hopes she won't be the one to kill him.

They face the audience as the anthem of Panem plays, and in a silent act of rebellion clasp hands and bow mockingly.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

((OOC: A smaller bloodbath at the beginning might make for a longer RP, and it seems that not many people aside form the Careers would stay at the Cornucopia for too long.))

Cole rolled his eyes as the Treaty of Treason was read. To be honest, he couldn't care less about the Capitol or districts, or the war that had gone on between them. All he knew and cared about was the fact that he would probably end up dead in a week or two.

Cole was nudge forward and came to face the other tribute, a short girl with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He'd seen her a few times, harvesting apples at the edge of the woods. She walked silently and, as far as Cole knew, she never spoke a word. Cole nodded at the girl and turned to the crowd.

Now, in this tense second, Cole weighed his possibilities of survival fully. He was fast and quiet, and pretty good with knife-throwing and a bow. However, there was probably a spear-throwing kid from One wondering who he would kill first at this very moment. Cole's only real hope was to find some trees to hide in and hope for the best.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

Artemis only half-realises that the girl (Scarlett, he believes, if he remembers correctly) is still clutching his hand, and roughly shrugs off the contact. She seems to wither under the slight irritation he displays, and he rolls his eyes. She won't last long. Then the Peacekeepers arrive and the two of them are immediately lead into the Justice Building, before each being taken into seperate rooms. Artemis admires the richness of the place, the decor and accessories dotted about the room for a few seconds, before rapidly losing interest as he waits for his family to arrive.

---

Kate laughs, waving as her and Max (he insisted on introducing himself as the Treaty of Treason was read aloud) are roughly escorted into the Justice Building. It is not a happy sound. The two are seperated (he gives her a short nod and a grin as he is taken away) and she is left to ponder. She has no loved ones to say goodbye to - she can't help but wonder how the heck she's going to deal with spending an hour doing nothing.

---
ooc; Eevee Freak hasn't been on for four days, so we'll move on without her.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

(OOC: So just you and me now?))

Cole was escorted into the Justice Building, where he was supposed to be able to say goodbye to his family. The thing was, Cole had no one to say goodbye to. So he just sat in one of the chairs, staring at a nearby clock and wondering when he'd be sent onto the train. Heck, that would probably be the first time he'd have a full meal in months.

So at least there was something to look forward to, considering in less than a week Cole would be left for dead in the arena.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

ooc;; well Chocolate Bones contacted me about joining, but until I get a reply then yeah, it's just us.
---

Artemis raised his eyes from where they had been trailing over the intricate patterns carved into the wooden seat to meet the sorrowful expressions plastered over his parents faces. Their goodbyes were short and sweet (their son was as good as a dead man now), filled with condolences and fake smiles. There is nothing but silence when the Peacekeepers tell them their time is up.

No one else greets him, except for Mina, a flamboyant, eccentric rebel from the factories that he only has an idle awareness of, who shoves a bottle of bright, neon blue hairspray and a similar, white coloured one into his hands with a grin and a reminder to make them remember him. He grins in return and swears to.

---

Kate doesn't expect anyone to turn up, but isn't exactly overwhelmed with surprise when Layla bursts into the room and tells her that the entire district is on her side. The little girl owes her something, at least.

"Don't go for the Cornucopia," she is told, and Kate crosses her fingers as she promises she won't (she will anyway).

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

Cole continued to sit in the chair, now fantasizing about what the arena might be like. A jungle? A forest? A frozen wasteland?

He glanced back at the clock and saw that the hour was almost up. Cole wondered what the girl from his district was doing right now. Probably either sitting in silence or saying goodbye to her family. After all, the girl wasn't exactly built athletically, and most likely wouldn't last past a few days in.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

The journey from the Justice Building to the train station passed in a blur of thoughts and emotions, and Artemis was awoken from his stupor only when the flashing lights of cameras cease to be a minor irritation and instead become a constant annoynace. A glare paints his face with negativity, and as he glances up at the wide-screens overhead he is filled with an almost vindictive glee at how angry he seems. He smirks and if anything his picture (amplified about 10 times on the screen) looks even more menacing.

He is forced to stand next to the other tribute in the doorway to the train station for a few minutes, the reporters running their eyes over his malevolent and Scarlett's terrified expressions. He sighs in relief as they are finally allowed in.

---

Kate spends the journey glaring out of the window of the car. When they finally reach the train station she hi-fives Max, a grin on her face, before the two of the shoot the reporters various irritated expressions and cock-sure grins. They are rapidly rushed intot he train station (apparently the Capitol don't want any kind of rebellious actions publicised), and she is somewhat grateful for the lack of people.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

((OOC: I'm switching into first person, if you don't mind.))

As I was escorted to the train station, I was focused on how he should present himself to the camera. In the end, I decided to try to simply ignore the cameras, but upon reaching the station he found that they were impossible to avoid. On every screen, my irritated face was broadcasted for all to see. I had to force himself not to slap the camera out of the hands of a man who barred his path, and instead boarded the train as quickly as possible.

I looked out through a window. I'd sped up to get into the train faster, and now I saw the girl tribute looking away from the camera as she shuffled forward. Rolling my eyes, I turned away from the window and began wandering the train.

Re: Blitz [A Hunger Games PRP] [Corruption, Eevee Freak and -Gray-]

ooc;; no problem. I'll do the same xD

---
{Artemis}
What is immediately striking is how incredible the train itself is - it can't even compare to the Justice Building. And then Justice Building cannot compare to the way I normally live. It is almost sad how much better those in the Capitol are than us, at least in terms of finance. The speed takes my breath away. I sit in my room and stare out of the window for a few minutes, plotting and planning and praying that I won't be the first to die. I am by no means reassured.

I quickly shake the depressing thoughts off, standing, brushing down my clothes and then staring at the hair-dye. I roll my eyes, smirking as I shower.

District 3's escort (a tall woman called Rayla with shockin yellow hair) calls me to dinner and I follow half-heartedly. I half-wonder where our mentors are (there are three of them, I recall; Terry, a tall, lanky bloke who only recently won with some intelligent use of explosives, Maya, an average-looking girl who won through sheer fluke a few years ago, after a flood killed off most of the other competitors, and another girl called Gloss, who won by sending constant electric currents through the Cornucopia so that everyone who touched it after the opening bloodbath died.

---
{Kate}
I grin as I step on board, immediately heading to the shower. I haven't had one for ages - it's incredibly expensive ad hot water is rare in District 5.

I change, pulling on only the most basic of clothing and am called to dinner by our districts escort, Robert.

((OOC: And I'll start posting in present tense. That should make it easier for both of us.))

As the train speeds up, I am nearly knocked off my feet by the sheer speed of the thing. At this rate, it might only take a day to get to the Capitol. Maybe even less.

As I wander the train, I am directed to my room by a Captiol man and sit on the bed. Locating the bathroom, I take a quick shower - the hot water feels amazing - and pull on jeans and a white cotton shirt.

After a few minutes of lounging on the warm, soft bed, I am called to dinner by Effie Trinket, the eccentric escort of District 12. I consider ignoring her, but decide that it will have more cons than pros to stay, and trudge wearily into the room where I will have dinner.

ooc;; d'ya wanna' just skip to the start of the games? 'Cause otherwise this is just going to take forever.

{Artemis}
Sixty seconds. I have sixty seconds before I can step off the plate, before I can finally run forward, take my chance. Sixty seconds before all hell breaks loose.

I sigh, readying myself. A pair of twin daggers catch my eye, jutting out of a plain black rucksack. The bag is almost overfull; the sheer number of items stufed in it makes it incredibly inviting - but it is so close to the cornucopia that risking it could be fatal. I glance at the other tributes, most of them apparently readying themselves to run from the cornucopia. I frown.

This is...unexpected. The bloodbath that makes the beginning of the games always so memorable seems like it might actually be avoided, fo once; only the careers seem truly intent on heading to the horn.

The gong sounds and my decision to go for the bag is instantaneous, as I sprint full-pelt towards it.

---
{Kate}
I glare at the other tributes, sizing them up, waiting for my chance to strike.

My eyes run over the cornucopia, before I decide it's not worth risking it so early on, instead shifting to glance just slightly in front of me. Perhaps the main thing I spot is a pile of barbed wire, curled into a loop on the floor, alongside a large flask. I grin. I am the closest to it in terms of distance, and if the other tributes are going to bother running inwards it is unlikely they'll go for something so apparently useless.

When the gong sounds I am already secure in my decision.

((OOC: Do you have an idea of what the arena looks like, Corruption?))

As I wait for the gong to sound, a glint of metal shines on the ground. It is then that I notice a line of throwing knives, about eight in total, leading to a camouflaged, lightweight-looking bag. The bag has a first-aid kit tied to it with a short length of rope, and I see several Careers staring at the pack with a glint in their eyes. I'm not too worried, as I could easily outrun almost everyone here.

When the gong sounds, I'm one of the first ones to start sprinting for the horn. As I grab the first knife, the boy from District Two throws a clumsy punch, and I am forced to duck. I begin to run faster, picking up two more knives before facing another problem. The boy from Two has retrieved a knife from the horn, and I drop to the ground as he attempts to thrust it into my head.

I learned a thing or two about close-range fighting during training, and I know how to disarm a larger opponent with relative ease. I swing my legs around, slamming my shoe into the back of the boy's knee and twisting his wrist until I hear a snapping sound and he lets go of the knife. I slide the blade into the small of his back and continue on.

After this, I collect the rest of the knives with relative ease. When I reach the pack, someone has taken the first-aid kit, but left the pack itself and the rope alone. I hoist the bag onto my shoulders and use my last remaining energy to propel my body away from the Cornucopia.

ooc;; nope. If you have one run with it, but if not we'll just improvise. Switching back to 3rd past tense because 1st person annoys me and I can't write 3rd person in present tense.

---
{Artemis}
Artemis' feet hit the ground at a blinding pace, his shoes kicking up dirt and mud and grit even as sprinted directly for the bag. He saw another tribute dive for the bag at the same time (the girl from District 4, he realised), but his sheer speed put him at an advantage. He ducked ever-so-slightly to loop his arm through the bag's straps, tossing it over his back just in time to hit the floor as a spear whizzed over his head, wincing and spitting out blood from where his head had slammed against the floor as he'd dived.

He shot a glare at his attacker (definitely the girl from District 4), pulling out the twin daggers from his newly acquired backpack and roughly shoving the blade into her arm before yanking it out and sprinting in the opporite direction. He didn't bother glancing back to evaluate the damage he'd inflicted, too focused on survivng to care.

---
{Kate}
Kate grabbed a hold of the flask in a flash, gingerly clasping the barbed wire in a hand and then speeding off into the woods, intent to leave as quickly as possible. As far as she was aware she hadn't anyone following her, but then she'd been so close to the flask and wire it was unlikely anyone would have bothered offing her anyway.

She smirked.

((OOC: Yeah, I kind of hate 1st person too. I just thought my first person present tense needed some work, but I'll go back to 3rd person past tense to use more of my writing skill. And I've got an idea for the arena:

Basically, the arena itself is a tall mountain, with foothills and forests at the base. The Cornucopia is located near the boundaries of the arena, with one side headed to a steep cliff, another going into the woods, and another leading up into the mountains. The cliffs, if you can climb them, lead to an easy source of water, although the area is very unprotected. The mountain is very difficult to climb, but leads to an amazing lookout point and source of water at the top. This would probably be where the Careers set up, if they don't stay at the Cornucopia. The woods have an abundance of wildlife, although animals like bears and wolves roam the area.))

Cole sprinted off into the woods, throwing himself over a log and into the foliage. It was a dark, ominous woods. Not much sunlight reached the earth, and as such it was difficult to stay alert. Cole decided on going uphill, getting into a good pace and jogging up through the trees.
