Kai was looking around the store, having grabbed a basket as well as some snack bags and sweets, he had also grabbed some pasta sauce and packets with lasagna sheets, thinking maybe they could make some while they were there. As he walked through the frozen foods aisle he noticed Hazel staring at something for a moment, raising an eyebrow in thought before walking over. "Everything okay?"
"Well now you get to be taught by me," Liza pointed out with a bright smile.
"Right," Kai replied, not exactly sold by her sudden reaction. "Anyways, anything you want from here or should we regroup with the others?" he asked, holding his own shopping basket up.
Everything at the grocery got paid for and they were back at the apartment. Bria had picked up some food that she knew Yui would like as well. Mostly different flavored juice boxes.
"We're back!" she called out to the group.
"Oh, welcome back," Kari spoke as she was waiting for the popsicle sticks. She hoped Kai had gotten them so she could make the frozen treats for the young girl.
Rick quickly left the others to go do his scouting.
Juliet and Nova were still sitting in the park. Juliet was about to remark about the fact they should be heading to Bria's when her phone rang. Picking it up, she talked to the voice in French for a few moments before hanging up. "Merde." She muttered under her breath. Clearly bad news.
"Here ya go," Kai said to Kari, walking over to her and handing her the popsicle sticks he had requested. "They were the last ones, quiet expensive for a bunch of sticks though," he pointed out. "I also got some snacks for everyone and other things."
Nova had taken Juliet on a walk around the park while eating. He had been telling her a story. "So, we ended up having to restock the entire lab by hand. Admittedly, I had no idea the artificial limbs weren't waterproofed yet," he said. "I felt bad."
Juliet laughed at Nova's story. It made her smile, hearing these little things about him that had never come up before. As she went into a story about the time Sakura had enrolled mother and daughter in a pottery class, she was thinking about what she'd just been told. The knowledge she needed to save Nova and Hazel was in her father's library. Which meant she needed to break into his house. Not what she'd wanted.
Juliet chuckled at this. "I couldn't either." She admitted with a sheepish smile. "I didn't have the patience for it. Maybe now I could... but this was... god over ten years ago. If you can imagine nine year old me trying to sit for hours doing pottery..." Juliet smiled. "Turns out I'd much rather write."
Rick enjoyed having his sister's company. He turned to her. "I'm curious. What do you think about all this?" Having never really done an assignment like this before with Ammy, he wanted to see how she approached tactics.
Juliet blushed at this. "A lot of things." She said quietly. "Nothing that's ready yet though. A lot of half finished things, you know, the muse comes and goes." She explained with a sheepish grin. "And with our lives... I don't have as much time to break out the laptop as I used to... before we joined up with Kai, I spent hours in the coffee shops around campus just writing. Whatever came to mind, as practice."
