If there's one thing I love about this city I live in, it's the climate; the temperatures are never as extreme as my homeland in the countryside, and the extereme heat/cold doesn't last long either. There's much less humidity, the air might be slightly more polluted (but still nowhere as bad as it was a few years ago) but it doesn't trigger my allergies, I never get sick, it also rarely rains and when it does it only lasts 2 hours max :D

Man, I live in the northernmost major city in Canada, and it's honestly hell here in the winter. Temperature extremes range from -20ºC to -35ºC, one day last year it even got as cold as -38ºC. It's ridiculous, and when it gets cold, it stays cold for weeks, sometimes even longer than a month. I envy everybody who has relatively warm winters.

I know how you feel. I live in Northern Norway, and one year it reached -40ºC. I didn't even want to go outside. It's usually not too much above -15ºC, though, but it happens.

i live in southern finland, was -5C last night, -2C at morning. our summer this year was pretty pathetic, so much that our plum trees (which usually produce a very plentiful harvest) couldn't finish their fruit. so now they're just full of not-quite-ripe pale blobs. rip

strangely, though, our new cherry plum tree gave fruit for the first time, and a lot. i guess it must be more cold resistant.

It's been -2 degrees lately, which is unusual for autumn. We have apple trees, but they usually don't produce anything. Got a couple of mini apples this year, though.

Hey, nice to see I'm not the only one returning after a long time. Forums don't seem as active as I remember it to be.
Nice theme Scarlet Sky, always love to see your choice of Touhou themes.

Forums everywhere are dying. There more options for people now, so people tend to stick to the one that they have friends on like Farcebook and Twiddle.

Ive always preferred forums myself. The thing is I simply dont get the sense of community on social media that exists on forums. With social media in my experience its more every person by themselves really and maybe someone commenting here and there. I guess here Im just much more comfortable.

I have to go with forums as well, slower pacing and more content per post. Better sense of community too as a result, as SC said.

Social media just has way too many people and they all post too quickly and together, it's harder to be heard there.

I do like both, but I prefer forums as well. It's easier to feel like you're actually part of a community.

Forums might be dying, but I'll enjoy them for as long as I can. The slower pace is nice, as previously noted.

I just see social medias like every single person in their own corner yelling at others across the room and I just cant get into that kinda thing. I want to talk to people more easily and have converations and I just feel like the way social media is set up makes that difficult.

I think they're more oriented towards more extroverted people who want to share their stories or thoughts with lots of people at once.
I'm more introverted and only feel like talking about select things with a select few people I consider good and trusted friends, and even when I'm feeling a bit more outgoing I'm still looking for a sense of community, so I'm more comfortable in forums and other relatively slow platforms.

I much prefer forums to other forms of online interaction. I'll feel very sad when forums become obsolete, much like the sadness I felt when vanity sites, fansites and various other kinds of geocities/angelfire sites became obsolete with the birth of Myspace. (Man, I feel old typing that...)

The only reason I'm on social media is to keep in touch with family. But even then it's kind of pointless because I have unfollowed the vast majority of them for posting things that angered me. I feel like I used to get along much better with them back when the phrase "personal life" actually meant something...

I only really have twitter and tumblr to share things I like its the only use social media has for me. I have never had family on social media. They use Facebook but I dont like Facebook so I have no use for it.

I use Tumblr and Facebook, but I'm not really that active on Facebook. I mostly use it to keep in touch with family and friends.

I've never had a Tumblr account but I did give Twitter a try. I hated it so much. One thing I like about forums is that everyone is involved in a thread whereas with non-forum social media, you are the one who is in control and bringing attention to yourself. They're also shittily moderated so if you have some random douche annoying you, the mods do very little in your favor since they love the ad revenue. I just don't care for that and I just like to be involved with whatever people are discussing where mods actually care about their communities. I do have a Facebook, but I use it to keep in touch with family and offline friends (or online friends that I have known for ages). I also set it to private so if I did post something, it's not like the entire world can see it.

I'm not a fan of the lack of rule enforcement on social media either. It's just a cesspool at times.
