Well Trainers, it transpires that Cara Liss has been up to more than just mixing and matching Pokémon fossils - she's been busy crafting a whole menagerie of Things That Shouldn't Be. Ghastly wings on bodies not meant to fly, terrible talons attached to paws designed for cuddling, and horrifying fangs in vegetarian mouths; all hallmarks of her definitely-at-least-a-bit-unethical experiments. Unfortunately for Bulbagarden, this collection of terrifying hybrid creatures has escaped captivity in her laboratory and is crawling, shuffling and flying straight for the forums...

And that's where you come in! For Halloween 2021 we want the community here to be overrun with very scary Pokémon fusions, like the ones you see in the avatars of some Staff members, and to this end we'd invite you to do the same! Head on over to a Pokémon fusion tool to make your very own beastie; we used this one but there's a range you can use, or even create your own artwork: Pokemon Fusion Generator

Once you've done this, you can update your avatar to reflect your terrifying new visage. We'd also ask that you then head over to the event Spotlight forum (coming very soon), to participate in the activities there - you can introduce your monster, craft a Pokédex entry, and even devise competitive stats!

Elsewhere on Bulbagarden, we'll be bringing you Cara Liss's research notes on some of her favourite creations, as well as a scavenger hunt on Bulbapedia and themed social media content. We hope you like the new skin artwork, too!

We estimate that it'll take two weeks for the authorities to get the situation under control, restore normality and get to the bottom of how all these grisly abominations escaped in the first instance. It couldn't be that Liss wanted to see her experiments in action in the outside world, could it?...

If you should determine the identity of the escaped specimens from Cara Liss's Laboratory from the clues in her research notes and hints on Bulbapedia, reach out privately to the Head Administrator, MetaGROSS Escapee, with this vital information.
