Re: Bulbagarden ORAS Launch Competition: 10 Copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapp

I did that with the Rotom question last Christmas. Just couldn't find what I needed on Bulbapedia, so I started using some Google magic. Took a while, but I got the answer. The strategy actually works really well, but I don't use it often 'cause I'm most familiar with Bulbapedia anyway.

Ambiguity gone. Glad I waited to take my swing. Unless I'm overstepping my bounds here (in which case I welcome the deletion of this comment) I'm gonna help ya out a bit. For most questions, you should not be left wondering if your answer is correct. If you've found the right source, you will know with certainty that you are correct.
Correct. If you're asking to clarify a question, especially if your question is in the format of "For (insert question here), do you mean (something) as opposed to (what the question says)?", you're probably over-thinking things and making the question more complicated than it really is.

I'm kind of tempted to record a video after this competiton is over, to show people exactly how quickly you can get the correct answers. How quick some are might shock some people...

One quick question. If I give an answer that is correct, but technically a gimmick, or a play on words, will it still be accepted as correct? I'm interested particularity in the question no. 5 because the only solutions I came up with are gimmicks and/or answers to a particular interpretation of the question (especially the "worked together" part).
If you need to answer that question with a gimmick, you're probably doing it wrong.

The problem is that I skimmed trough all the pages on Bulbapedia that contain words aqua and/or magma (ie a lot of pages) and I did find the answers that I am fairly certain you are looking for, but one of the answers I consider being gimmick-y.

Since somebody already asked about the ORAS demo, I don't see a problem with me mentioning it again. Is the demo considered part of the games or not? It is not listed in any of the links that you provided with the questions, but ORAS games themselves are.

If I sent an email with my answers with my address, and my father just copy pasted the answers and sent the email with HIS address, will I be disqualified? It was not me who sent the email, so I hope there is not a problem.

I have literally no idea about question 3. I mean this in the politest way possible, but the wording is majorly confusing and if people have to come to this thread to ask you to clear it up, doesn't that kind of signify how confusing it is? Like, you hint that if we can't find the answer on Bulbapedia we're doing something 'esoteric' but that question is just plain hard. Yesterday I was literally googling it for 2 hours yesterday and came away with a headache. I googled (and afterwards checked Bulbapedia articles on) Priority moves, items related to switching out, moves related to switching out, abilities related to switching out, and then specifically looked for things added or exclusive to the Third generation. I can find nothing that fits the scenario in the question exactly. I suspect a lot of other people are having the same problem. It's a shame because I have all the other answers, but there's very little point in submitting 4/5 :/

I recommend looking at the page for recalling, so you can look at all the ways there are to recall a pokemon.

One more question on Q3: Just to clarify, does it mean the player's pokemon switching out, and was not caused by any attack?

For all those stuck on Q3, check the bulbapedia page on recalling a pokemon.

With all due respect, question number #3 is literally the easiest one. The phrase "start to execute an attack" alone pretty much SCREAMS what the move in question is.

Damn it, didn't want to give out hints, but it hurts seeing people confused by that one.

Okay, I'm very, very surprised at how many people are stumped by Question 3. I knew the answer in an instant. (Not trying to brag, just making a statement.) Either I frequent very obscure pages on Bulbapedia, or everyone is massively overthinking this. Just calm down, stop randomly searching BP, and think about the phrase "start to execute an attack". (Now, I would like some help [through PM] with Question 4, if anyone's willing. I'm willing to trade answers [or hints] with someone if they know that answer.)

Um.. Just to be sure regarding no.5.... So if both teams had 1 representatives who are working together for the same goal, does it count?

What did the error message say? You have the right address, so it should've gone through. Mine did. The only thing I can think of (besides the possibility that you had a typo in the address bar of your message) is that your email service encountered some kind of issue. The only way to know what issue that would be is to look at the error message.

Re: Bulbagarden ORAS Launch Competition: 10 Copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapp

Edit: The entirety of the post below this is useless. Your problem is that you missed an "L" in the address. You put "Bubagarden", not "Bulbagarden".

Hm... I'm afraid I don't know enough about the DNS system to resolve the issue off the top of my head... Since the deadline is coming up so quickly, I'd recommend a few workarounds. First, you can try using an alternate email service. For example, if you used gmail this time, get a Yahoo account and try that. If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to send your message using a different internet connection. Try visiting a library, or if you have a wireless device, find someplace with free Wi-Fi. If both of those don't work, then my only thought is to try to get someone else to enter the competition on your behalf, someone that isn't entering for himself as well. Hope it works out!

I think a lot of people got confused on Q3. It's not the move you're thinking of. The question specifically states that your Pokémon being recalled is NOT the result of a Pokémon's attack. If that's not the case, how else can you recall a Pokémon?

Finally Finished it!

For the most part it was easy, all I really had trouble on was 2 and 4, but 2 I found quickly. 4 took awhile, but I'm sure I got it right...
as long as there can be two Pokemon in the same card.

I was about to give a hint on Q3, thinking that entries had stopped. But there's still another 22.5 hours so I won't
