Lol @ Ash becoming Chilli's punching bag. That kind of thing is so expected nowdays....W/e. Poor Oshawot.

Not a bad episode though.

There was a lot going on in this episode!

I thought it was great that the whole reason Pod left the gym in the first place was because he was getting fed up of losing all the time. If I didn't know better, I'd think the Best Wishes writers actually *aren't* making this shit up as they go along.

I also loved Satoshi being a terrible referee, Pod and Baopp having so much in common, Dent's tasting, the Solar Beam training...this really was an excellent episode.

An awesome episode with actual "character development".
The Corn/Pod flashback scenes were so amusing PornShipping FTW! =P

And the brostyle monkeys were so........... exquisite.

I really enjoyed this episode!

The monkeys broing around together was so adorable. That five second montage really paid off, bro. Poor Miju. The battle at the beginning between Pod and Dento was a fun battle to watch.

Beginner trainers would be so royally fucked if the first gym leaders actually used Fire Blast and Solar Beam in battles.

I suppose that's what happens when you battle someone whose Pokémon's fresh out of a training montage, eh?

I know, it's amazing, isn't it?

Okay, for those of you wondering, it looks like Pansage picked up Rock Tomb offscreen at some point. Which is a bit of a shame, as right at the beginning of this ep we saw Ash' Pokémon doing target practice.

Haha, I love how Chili had that plateful of sweets at the Pokémon Centre. Big eater or a sweet tooth? You decide.

God, I love how BFF Pansage and Pansear are.

This episode's good stuff, I tells ya!

Also, they made a Rocky reference.

That automatically makes this episode cool.

That whole scene reminded me of that song from South Park, "gonna need a montage! MONTAGE! Every shot show a little improvement, to show it won't take too long!"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

AAAAAAAAA. I COULD NOT MAKE WORDS THAT WHOLE EPISODE. Does anyone have any idea what was said, or at least the gist, when Chili and Cress were talking? Or when Cress was talking to Cilan over the phone? I'm....a little bit pathetic.

Cilan called Cress to find out what was up. Chili had said he set off on a journey, but Cress said no, he had simply run off without a word and no contact, and he'd been terribly worried. When it showed the two of them in the Gym, Chili was basically depressed about how often he was losing, and when Cress said he COULD change his battle style around to get better, Chili got angry and stormed away saying, then our bond as brothers is broken.

I don't remember exactly how Cress said "well yes you could improve you know", but it was very polite, nonetheless Chili had a tantrum that Cress agreed with him. Kind of like "I look so ugly today!" "Yes." "DON'T AGREE WITH ME!!"

I sensed Chili didn't really want to hear "yes you suck" but "nooo you are the besssst".

Most interesting. I figured that Cress said something that Chili didn't want to hear. The guy can't take criticism well, huh?

Pod beat Satoshi. Is that really some sort of accomplishment? Everyone beats Satoshi and Mijumarugly, kyu.

This episode was really good and interesting X3 I loved the bond that the brothers had...same for Pansear and Pansage x3 soo cute!

I giggled at the sweets Pod was eating xD

Stupid good for nothing writer.
If they wanted Pod to get some respect they could use Clian & Cress.
Why the hell they have to use Ash as a Punching bag ?
I don't know want kind of freaking art they trying to Create by making Ash lose so much But Cut It Out.
I don't wait week after week , Week after Week just to see Ash getting his butt kick various way .
That's why Pokemon start to suck so much , that's why pokemon Anime has 10 year of odd time & still having odd time .
Because Writer tries to show Ash's inferiority too much .Because they never show Ash as formidable trainer . Because they only show Ash as Inferior or Normal nobody trainer for a major amount of time of a series.
Probably because they think Pokemon gonna lose its popularity if Ash become a Formidable & Famous Trainer . They practically never watch anime like Prince of Tennis so they don't know that just because main character is formidable & famous doesn't mean the show is over.
It is hard enough the fact that Ash gonna spend rest of the series trying to catch up to a trainer called Trip who barely start his journey. Now with this unnesseary defect, Seriously Are Writer/Director trying to Add Salt into fire.
Its not like they gonna bring a suitable rival for Ash ,NO,
What They gonna do ? They gonna force Trip on to us by making him Superior & Ash Inferior.
I bet Next time Ash battle Trip ,he gonna lose horribly. Then Trip gonna leave saying ''Kento sucks''.
If they really want Pod to get some respect, there are much better ways. Same thing goes for Kenny.
But oh no, Writer Decide to use Ash as a bait .
May be they want people to dislike Ash so they can replace him & bring a girl so they can write a ''Shujo anime'' . After all AG series was totally like a ''Shujo Anime'' .
I'm totally convince now, Pokemon Anime is written by the most idiotic bunch of Writer & it probably directed by the most stupid director .
I'm so angry & I'm so wish I say all this directly to them .

Argh, I was actually planning on waking up early to watch this live for once (haven't done that since BW008) and forgot. I had a feeling it was going to be a good episode and sure enough, bam, it's apparently freaking wonderful. Cilan-centered episodes rarely disappoint, and I love any opportunity for sibling bonding, so this would be the episode for me. I haven't truly been anticipating any BW episode since Bianca's debut that was what, 35 episodes ago? Gah.

It's really great that they showcased Chili and Cress again, because of all the Unova Gym Leaders we've seen so far, they were the most deserving of extra episodes to feature in, yet they got the shortest end of the stick. And I gotta say, it almost seems like there was foreshadowing in a way because on at least two separate occasions, we've had a recurring character announce that they defeated Chili. Add in that Ash also beat him, and it really does make sense why Chili, being childish as he is, would throw a fit over losing so many times. It doesn't feel like something that's coming out of left field because it's actually been referenced before in this series. What the fuck is this, continuity?! It's amazing!

I'll definitely have to check this out somehow, because it sounds bloody brilliant for a BW episode. I was kinda wondering how the Striaton Gym was being handled with one third of the leaders' gimmick being indefinitely lost. Chili starting his own Fire-type gym in Unova would be really neat; Cress converts the Striaton Gym to be fully Water-type aligned and then there's a balance again. I'm assuming Chili is still going to do this and isn't returning to Striaton City with his tail between his legs? Otherwise what I just said would be null and voided, ahaha. But it still sounds like a very fulfilling episode that's long overdue. Bwah, I knew there was a real reason why I still bother with this series.

While I do find it interesting for Chili to get character development, and for everyone to be all buddy buddy about it, I am frustrated over one thing, and it's the one thing I'm not usually stuck up about, but for some reason, this time, it really burns me up. How in the world could Osha lose? Sure, Chili needed to prove his worth, but seriously? You saw the beam coming, where was your instant block with your shell reflex? Inconsistency. Not to mention this essentially screws Ash's win back at Striaton. You're supposed to be stronger, Osha. Ugh.
