If the Female Pokémon is in a certain type of Pokéball, the egg will be as well, I believe this works with Ditto as long as the Pokémon it's breeding with is Female.
If you don't feel like catching female Pokémon in those Pokéballs it's fine with me.

An egg will use it's mother's Pokéball, unless the Mother is a Ditto. Whether the Father is Ditto isn't important for that though.
