All done! (My character also has a dragon theme, but its different. :3)

Name: Darby Wrangham

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Homeland: Evercombe Drapes

A medium-size island, Evercombe Drapes is shrouded by fog. Though small villages and tribes have formed, the most common form of life on the island is its namesake Evercombe trees. These trees have thick gray trunks and incredibly sturdy roots that make them next to impossible to tear up. The Evercombes form a canopy of leathery black leaves that encompasses more than eighty percent of the mainland. The "Drapes" are the vines often associated with the trees: heavy, interconnected tendrils that cut off swathes of the island like an impenetrable curtain. Small pink berries - known throughout Callisto as Evercombe Beads - stud the drapes and are renowned by assassins worldwide for their poisonous qualities.

Further inland, the earth is gravelly and infertile. What soil remains is dotted with weeds and crabgrass. Edible mushrooms occasionally grow at the base of the Evercombe tree and are harvested by the humans for food. Inhabiting the jungles are a variety of agile feline creatures, whose meat is valued by the tribes for its rough yet rich quality. Some small rodents remain, but those native to the island have largely evolved to be subterranean due to the harsh conditions of the jungle. Insects - very few of the flying variety - can grow quite large but are revered by the humans for keeping dangerous fungi at bay. A copper-brown plant, the Eversprig, is used in Evercombe Drapes and nearby islands as a spice. Described as a "firecracker in the mouth," it is a favorite among those that can afford it and is the island's main trading staple.

Human society is fairly primitive. There are dozens of small tribes in Evercombe Drapes, many consisting of less than ten families. Housing comes it the form of huts constructed with mud, wood, or basalt. Wood is typically reserved for framing the house due to the difficulty of splitting it from the sturdy trunk of the Evercombe tree. Calico furs of the mammalian Razortongue are valued and are used as rugs, curtains, and "doors." Shamans are regarded as the leaders of communities and play strong roles in education, medicine, and religion. Some remains of a past civilization, such as stone catacombs, monuments, and pottery, are still discovered and sometimes repurposed. It is believed that this once-mighty people was eradicated by a Cursedragon, a feared creature that resides in the deep cave at the island's center: the Den Throat. As a result, the tribes keep a special reverence (and wide distance) for the dragons and their home. The fog enveloping the island is said to be the wet breath of one of these reptilian beasts.

Appearance: Darby stands at 6 feet tall, not uncommon for males of the island. He has dark brown straight hair kept neatly at medium length, as well as a thin full beard of the same color that does not fall past his chin. His skin is slightly pale due to the sun shining through the island fog for only an hour each day. On his neck is his Rite of Passage: four cross-shaped scars underscored by blue tattoo. This resulted from his acceptance into the tribe at the age of 15. He has straight teeth that are passingly noticeable and clean nails.

Darby wears a turquoise cotton V-neck shirt underneath his signature brown leather jacket. The jacket falls to waist level and is rarely buttoned. Shallow leather pockets are stitched onto each breast of the jacket; the left side has a broken brass fastener while the right one is functional. The sleeves end half an inch from the wrists to reveal a basic black-leather wristwatch on his left arm. He also wears a cape of Razortongue pelt, fastened around the next of the jacket and draped over the left shoulder, held there with a pin.

Darby wears a necklace handed down throughout his family: a Cursedragon tooth on a steel chain. He stows this keepsake in the collar of his V-neck, except to show it off. His blue jeans have permanent dust marks on the knees and shins and are in stringy disrepair around the flares. They are suspended by a light snake-leather belt with a silver buckle. At the right hip is a leather holster hanging loosely from the pants with a sharpened dagger inside of it. Darby wears hard boots of durable plastic, lined with splinters of Evercombe wood and padded with felt. Tight flax shoestrings lace the boots. Each boot has a small steel toe padded with wads of canvas.

Above all else, Darby's most distinguishing feature is his right arm. An inch below the shoulder, flesh becomes copper-orange scales. The right hand is swollen and reptilian, with scathing yellowed claws in place of fingers, like that of a dragon. The entire arm is slightly thicker than the other, making him a bit lopsided. On the back of the upper arm are two small, triangular pieces of hard tissue protruding from the scales, like the spikes of a stegosaurus. Darby has no trouble moving his arm and fingers like that of a normal arm, however.

Backstory: On a cold April night, Darby Wrangham was born to a wealthy tribe family in a thinly-walled cabin. Throughout the first nights of life, the wind howled through the cracks and fog floated treacherously inches above the cabin floor. Wrapped in layers of fur, the baby was left alone or with a maid while the parents were assigned to forage for firewood. Darby became attached to this cape that kept him clinging to life, and held onto it for comfort into adulthood. His lack of supervision, however, meant that he had less of a relationship with his parents. At the age of eight, when most of the tribe's children were beginning to be homeschooled, Darby's parents had neglected to remember and were busy hosting lavish parties out at town.

It was being left to his own devices that drew Darby closer to nature. Evercombe Drapes was a dangerous place to grow up, for sure, but before he was ten, the boy knew every neck of the jungle within half a mile of the house like the back of his hand. He would mark locations with a stick in the dirt or in the bark of a tree with his trusty knife. He learned to climb trees, to fish, to swim, and even simple tracking without the instruction of a guide or mentor.

It was on one of his innumerable excursions into the wild that Darby was nabbed by a travelling band of thieves. Evening fell, and the men tied him and threw him into the back of a horse-drawn cart. In the darkness of the hour, the thieves ran off course and collided with a particularly wide tree, splintering the cart. At that moment a reptilian beast emerged from above the canopy, pressing one massive claw against the damp ground as its ten-foot neck slithered toward the kidnappers. A raspy voice instructed them to release the child and the stolen goods. When the bandit leader shakily refused, he was violently torn and thrown by the Cursedragon. The other thieves scrambled and fled. The beast slashed the ropes that bound Darby and beckoned for him to climb his arm.

The dragon took to the sky, reaching the Den Throat in a matter of minutes. It turned into a nosedive as it plunged into the labyrinthine cave, insisting that its rider take tight hold. Eventually, the two emerged in a sparkling cave of crystals and goo. The Cursedragon gently took Darby's hand and dipped it into a cauldron. "Now you will not need to fear," the dragon rasped. "You can defend yourself now."

Darby watched in horror as his human arm slowly and painlessly transformed into that of a Cursedragon. He flexed his reptilian fingers, surprised to see how easily they moved. The dragon gave what the eight-year-old interpreted as a rough smile and tapped a claw against his forehead.

Darby woke up in a clearing, the thick fog circling around him like a halo. He regarded his right arm. It remained large and scaly. He stood up and began to wander. This was an unfamiliar part of the woods to him. Eventually he found his tribe's Shaman meditating on a small boulder. When he approached the Shaman, he propped a single eye open and recoiled in disgust. Clearly, he thought, the boy has been cursed with this unsightly limb. The Shaman, recognizing him from the Wrangham clan, banished him forthwith from the tribe. When Darby pleaded with him, the Shaman resumed meditation and refused to budge.

Outcast and downtrodden, Darby wandered many miles, living off the land as he went. In one bout of severe hunger, he considered eating a handful of Evercombe beads to put himself out of his misery. He trudged onward though, and for two long years he endured cold summers, harsh winters, and hostile wildlife among the Drapes. Eventually, the boy stumbled upon a small tribe. At first put off by his unusual appearance, the tribe grew to accept him as he provided gifts of nature under the veil of night. A family willingly took him in as their own. At this time, he was eleven years old.

At the age of 15, Darby Wrangham was inducted into the tribe officially. His passage into manhood occurred without incident, the necessary scars being inflicted on his person. He grew as a much-loved member of the society, being among the most skilled hunters and navigators the island had seen. His draconic arm began to be seen as a blessing from the revered dragons rather than a curse. The Shaman began to train Darby in the art of the Agagrimoir, an ancient text that had been in the possession of his lineage since the dawn of civilization. Darby was quickly familiar with the lessons and became adept at the book's powerful spells and techniques.

Shortly after Darby became 22, however, his life turned around. One evening the tribe gathered around the center of the town to indoctrinate a young boy into their ranks. Seeing the pain the boy suffered as the knife touched his flesh, Darby was reminded of the trials he had suffered. He used magic - a tight beam of dark energy shot from the palm of his clawed hand - to subdue the officiant. Shocked by this unprecedented misuse of power, the Shaman was bound by the edicts of the Agagrimoir to banish Darby from the tribe. Providing a vessel and several weeks of rations, a guide led Darby to the black beaches of the island, where he was to leave and never return.

As the dinghy floated away from the shore, Darby let out a small laugh. He untied his knapsack to reveal two valuable documents: a copy of the Agagrimoir, and a map to Solitaire Island. Though crushed by the betrayal of a second "family," the half-dragon took pleasure in knowing he was still one step ahead.

Ability: Darby can conduct a special brand of magic through his cursed limb. The Agagrimoir, when used and learned properly, can be used to seamlessly channel anger, rage, or hate into tangible dark energy that is able to be harnessed and transmitted. Darby, one of the most skilled practitioners of the tome's secrets, can fire this energy as a beam, a sphere, or a barrage of arrows. He can also form a broadsword of dark energy with some concentration. Though too heavy for an average human, the strength of his dragon arm allows him to swing this sword single-handedly.

Talents:

Survivalism: Darby can survive for extended periods of time in the uncharted wild. He is resourceful, attentive, and spry in a crisis.

Strength: With the heft and dexterity of his cursed limb, Darby holds the upper hand in a one-on-one fight more often than not. If the sheer club-like force of the arm against bone doesn't hurt, the dangerously sharp claws will.

Channeling: One of Darby's most potent abilities. Through the teachings of the Shaman and the gift of the Cursedragon, Darby has the unique ability to leech from the life-force of the organisms around him and harness that force to enhance his physical and magical abilities tenfold. Channeling has no adverse effects on the supplier, allowing strong allies to essentially share their power with Darby. This effect goes both ways, making Darby's combat abilities much weaker in the context of a city or desert, while most at home in the luscious, life-filled folds of a forest or jungle.

@Midorikawa, accepted.
@Vubberth That's quite the sign-up. A few things before I accept you. First off, this is kinda my bad, 'cause I didn't mention it, but Dragons are one of the few concepts I have really planned. In this setting, dragons are extinct. So your island could have something similar to a dragon on it. But no dragon. A unicorn or Phoenix would work. Also, how strong are these energy beams? And tenfold seems like quite the increase to his powers from just being near another living thing.

your island could have something similar to a dragon on it. But no dragon. A unicorn or Phoenix would work.

I can't really see this working with the character concept. Would you care if I just took down that sign-up and made a new one? I wouldn't mind at all; I have fun writing them. (You should put the dragon thing in the OP for future signer-uppers.)

Also, how strong are these energy beams? And tenfold seems like quite the increase to his powers from just being near another living thing.

The idea behind this ability was that the character would be cripplingly weak without support or the jungle backdrop. To answer your question, not that much stronger than, say, a born wizard's magic (whatever that means in this universe). I will be more straightforward about any such powers in the future. :)

Name: Alexander (Alex) Chispa
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Homeland: Raitika Island

Unfortunately while Alex was born there he never actually got to know the island itself, his family moved to his current city. He's never been able to go to the island but hopes to one day be able to explore the world and visit the island he was born in.

Appearance: Alex has messy blond hair with green eyes and a slightly tanned skin. He stands at 6'4 with an athletic built and broad shoulders. Alexander's main outfit consists of a blue jacket he usually wears opened up. The jacket has a raised neck though a piece on the left side of it is missing. There's lightning designs drawn on the back of the jacket that extend and go down his sleeves and go up to the neck.

He wears a white shirt underneath his jacket and has a small necklace with a small silver eagle on it that he usually carries around. He also carries a black backpack strapped across his chest. He wears black combat boots along with a matching pair of black trousers.

Background: Alex was born in Raitika Island an island famous for housing a rare species of horse monsters. From unicorns to pegasus to other kinds of creatures based around horses. These creatures are rare and are constantly hunted down and sold on the black market. However, what people don't know about them is that they come in two ways. These monsters are originally born as humans who are given the name of Riders. Riders go through life and grow up with specific abilities to them. During adulthood Riders go to a phase in which their body determines whether they'll stay as Riders or assume the form of a horse monster, this is mostly decide by which world the person feels more close to whether it's the world of humans or the world of the beasts. Those that stay as Riders will keep their abilities and become able to draw out more power as they have managed to conquer their beast side.

Shortly after he was born Alex and his family moved to a different island though. Babel Island is a large Metropolitan island, known as the most modern and one of the more populated islands of all. This island offers commodity and advancements in terms of technology, finance and entertaignment, bustling and priding itself on being an island of success and innovation.

Through all of the buildings, businesses and sky scrapers is one of the largest bodies that can be found in Callisto. The Tower of Babel, a large tower reaching into the sky that goes up to 400 floors. The tower occupies two functions, one is working as an airship station where people can ride Babel Island's famous line of airships to other parts of Callisto. The other is being a place for those that want to test their strenghts. Magicians, people with abilities and other humanoid species come to the tower from all around the world to challenge each other and those that win not only go up in the tower but also in the world as they become more known and famous. This all culminates with Babel's own Reach to the Sky tournament where the best of the best go to the island once ever 4 years in order to see who is the strongest.

But enough about that. Alexander's life in Babel was pretty good, his father had established himself as a powerful contender in the Tower of Babel and as such became wealthy enough to afford moving his family there. His mother on the other hand started to work as reporter, always going around the world trying to get her next big scoop. With this Alexander lived a pretty comfortable life, never paying attention to anything that went on around him and just doing what he liked. He also enjoyed his heritage cause of the powers it gave him and always kept taking his father down from the tower as his main goal.

Alas the world isn't that simple. After Alex finally convinced his father to let him enter the tower he lost miserably merely 10 floors into it, he kept trying to climb higher but instead started to decrease in his progress. This allowed Alex to realize that he was still too naive and didn't really know anything about the world beyond what he had grown up with. This made him decide that if he really wanted to know more about the world that he had to travel and know more about the world.

Luckily his mother was invaded to the king's ball in Solitaire Island, giving Alex his first chance to explore the world beyond Babel Island.

How long do you think it'll be till you start it? I'll try and have my second character ready by then.

Abilities: Alex has control over electricity. He can do multiple things with it such as firing out lightning bolts or enfusing his body with electricity to fight. He can also absorb or give power to electronical objects or really anything that relies on electricity to survive.

Talents: Dexterity and Agility: Alex can react and move quickly, he is able to think well on his feet and usually tries to find the best outcome.

Direction: It might not be much but Alex is also someone that always knows where he stands, ever since his curiosity for traveling rose he has done his best to memorize as many maps as possible, trying his best to learn where everything is. Of course, he still keeps a map or two just to be sure.

Cooking: With his parents being out of the house for multiple periods of time Alex was able to learn how to cook, it's no something to brag about but he's at least able to make something to keep people alive, with this he's also gathered knowledge on different plants, fruits and animals.

I'll likely start next week, though I am pretty bad at keeping to deadlines for starting RPs.

Also, gonna need you to put down what your characters powers are.

Because I'm a terrible person and I take way too long to do things. >_>

Name: Venn Lorik

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Homeland: Venn comes from an island called Roshaan, a large forest island covered in dense trees that tower over the landscape, and populated by viscious fauna. All manner of wild beasts, from the smallest of insects, to terrifying ten-foot tall Sayo beasts, roam Roshaan. In addition, the flora can also prove inhospitable, as many of the plants and shrubs are covered in thorns and thistles, making the island a literal pain to traverse to the unexperienced traveler.

The trees of Roshaan stand mighty and tall, some reaching hundreds of feet high and several feet thick. The very tops of these trees contain some of the only non-toxic fruits on the island, but climbing the trees is an incredibly risky task, as one fall can lead to one’s death from the sheer height. As such, the biggest source of food comes from the meat of the fauna. Hunting is a skill learned by most, if not all, of the inhabitants, and the beasts of Roshaan put up quite a fight.

While the island may prove inhospitable to the ill-prepared, one species, the Rynn, has managed to tame the island to their will. The Rynn are best described as a species of humanoid people with vaguely reptilian features, and they have managed to carve a life for themselves on Roshaan. Large stone cities, built as such to withstand damage and decay, are dotted across the island.

Since the Rynn are mostly dependant on hunting for their food, all Rynn are trained in this art from an early age. They make excellent hunters and agile explorers, having adapted to their island’s forest landscape with ease. They possess a heightened dexterity that allows them to perform great feats of acrobatics and climbing.

Appearance: Venn is a member of the Rynn species. In terms of build and physique, he is comparable to a standard human male, but with some differences. Most notably, the Rynn’s hide is covered in large, grey scales like those of a lizard, with a slender, scaly tail to aid in balance.

Venn stands around 6’1”, with dark brown eyes and short black hair. For clothing, Venn prefers lighter material that allows for ease of movement, wearing a simple white tunic and baggy pants.

Backstory: Venn grew up in a relatively normal life on the island of Roshann. His family made a living as merchants, traveling from the various cities on the island and trading goods like food, weapons, and armor. Like all Rynn children, Venn was taught hunting and wilderness survival at an early age, and like most Rynn, he developed a fondness for hunting. Venn lived for the thrill of the hunt and the excitement of exploration. No matter what beast he felled or what location he discovered, it was never enough. He was always on the move, looking for bigger and better things.

Once Venn had reached the age of 21, he had grown bored of live in Roshaan. Hunting and exploring could only provide so much for his restless spirit. He decided to do the next logical step for someone bored of their home; go somewhere else. After raising enough money through hunting and trading to secure passage off Roshaan, he bid his family and friends farewell, and left his home to pursue new sights and experiences.

Utilizing what skills he had from his time on Roshaan, Venn quickly found employment as a bounty hunter. With his agility and hunting skills, he found that tracking criminals and thieves was not so different from hunting wild beasts and animals back home. He took on many contracts against criminals and scum, and managed to net some cash in the process. Currently, Venn resides on Solitaire island, where one of his contracts has supposedly fled and is evading capture.

Ability: Venn wields a powerful ceremonial sword, called a Sayosaan, that is passed down to most Rynn children once they have proven themselves capable of it’s use. To most outsiders, it looks like a simple katana, and for the most part, they’d be right. It is built with an incredibly sturdy mineral from Roshann that make the blade nearly indestructible by conventional means. While Venn is trained in it’s use, it is mostly a ceremonial relic, and is rarely used. Should the need arise for it’s use though, the blade is sharpened to a deadly point, and can cut through many materials with ease. Supposedly, the blade possesses certain magical properties, but that is mostly rumors that Rynn tell of their legendary war-heroes who have wielded the blade.

Talents: Venn’s thick scales give him a slight resistance to bludgeoning and scraping attacks, though he is by no means invincible. Hand-to-hand combat and small blades might have a harder time hurting him, though.

Due to his species’ training on Roshaan, Venn has incredible agility and dexterity. He can climb most surfaces with ease, and can perform great acrobatic stunts.

If there are any issues let me know and I'll go back to fix them.

Name: Blake Edge (Lightning)
Gender: Male
Age: 22

Homeland: Solitaire Island

Appearance: Blake has long black hair that goes down to his neck, with bangs falling over his forehead. He has violet eyes and white skin. He stands at 6'5 with an athletic built along with built and strong legs, despite this he still keeps a slim figure, something that helps him out in his line of work. When working as an Assassin he wears a completely black long sleeved sweather and pants that hug his figure. He also wears combat boots and carries a pair of knives strapped to his waist, the knives themselves are linked by a small chain.

Personality: If you see Blake as he is you'd think he's just some punk who always does or says what he wants. He really doesn't care about what people think and lives life as he wants to, or at least that's what he wants people believe. Acting like a playboy and like he's an idiot are just excuses for him to get closer to people, in truth he's always searching for people's weaknesses whether physical or mental. He's also not above lying to anyone, even his comrades if it means it'll help him.

He's also very wild, taking enjoyment in trying something different and he's not above deciding to climb a mountain one day just because he wants to see what it's like. This is the reason he loves his job as an assassin, the thrill he gets from not knowing what his missions will result in excite him.

Background: Blake was born and raised in Solitaire Island. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him so he was raised by his dad for most of his life up until he was 15. His dad wasn't bad, he didn't abuse Blake either, in fact he always strived to teach him about life and how the world works but also that while there are many bad things in life he should always strive to enjoy it.

When he was 15 he found out that his dad ws part of a famous assassins guild and after convincing him he was finally allowed into the guild, he had to travel to other parts of Callisto for training though. This was around the time when he first discovered his ability of super speed, something that helped him gain more experience and skill quickly.

Unfortunately once he was done with his training at 18 Blake found out that his father had died during a mission. After finding this out he strived to become a great assassin, one better than his dad, eventually coming to find enjoyment in the work and raising his ranking in the guild. However, part of his mind has always wondered who could've killed his father and if he could kill him himself once he met him.

Ability: Blake was born with a special ability that grants him super speed. He doesn't know the basis of how he got it but knows that he can move faster than the speed of sound in a range of 10 meters, that means that as long as his opponent is ten meters away from him or less he'll be able to strike at a great speed, something that has earned him the name Lightning from his fellow Assassins due to how fast he moves.

Talents: He's an acrobat, something that results from his job along with great eyesight, he's also a skilled knife fighter.

Name: William Tepes (Will for Short)
Age: 14 (Physically, his true age actually spans centuries)
Gender: Male
Homeland: Scarlet Rose Isle (A small island very few have spotted, let alone left alive. It is shrouded under eternal night, and it's only settlement is Moonlight Castle, a gothic looking castle where Will resides. The only other inhabitants being the manor's servants)

Appearance: Will is a vampire boy, who stands at 5,5 and weighs 110 lbs. He's slim and slender, with slender arms and legs that are perfectly proportioned to his body. He has pale white skin with dark blood red sullen eyes. He has pin straight chestnut hair with bangs that come to his eye brows, and a small pair of fangs that are only visible when he opens his mouth wide enough. His attire resembles that of a young victorian era boy, choosing to wear a dark black petty coat with a large red ribbon tied into a bow under his collar. He also wears a pair of black trousers and brown leather loafers with a pronounced wooden heel, and finally, a black top hat with a scarlet bow tied across the base of the brim.

Backstory: Will is the head of an esteemed Tepes Family, a long line of Vampires. Will is the sole remaining heir in existence. Will has passed tedious decades watching the world with growing apathy. As a result of his blood line and time on earth, he has mastered sorcery which primarily consists of lightning, wind, and teleportation. Will roams the world seeking a purpose to live. He left the safety of his castle, with the simple phrase "I'm Bored." And seeks something that immortality cannot satisfy.

Ability: Will's main ability is in his vampiric life line. It grants him superb regenerative abilities, and he could even regrow limbs if they were cut off. It also prevents him from aging, and dying from natural causes. Will's only real weakness is to holy magic, which makes him completely mortal. Holy relics such as talismans and holy water can also prove to weaken his abilities. Holy Water actually causing a great deal of pain for him. While not Lethal, Will is also prone to sun burn, so he'll often be seen carrying around an umbrella.

Talents: Lighting: Will utilizes magic to conjure bolts of lighting to strike with beams of electricity to smite his foes.

Wind: Will often uses wind to increase the speed of his movement\

Spacial: Not exactly used for combat, but Will possesses the ability to travel great distances through teleportation.

@Flaze, accepted.

@Naoto, neato character, but I'm afraid you need to tweak your talents a bit. While your ability can be multi-faceted, your Talents should really be more one specific trait. For example, you could keep the beams of electricity for Lightning, the speed buff for Wind, and hte hammer space for Spacial, but you'd have to drop the other things. If you do that, you're accepted.

Also, we'll prolly start Monday. I was gonna do it tonight, but real life got in the way.

So, a fantasy-themed RP? I'll ignore the geological dissonance of a discworld, as long as it's not structurally supported by giant elephants riding on a space turtle's back.

Name: Hajime Aikawa
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Homeland: Solitaire Island

Appearance: Standing at 5'10", Hajime weighs about 154 lbs. with a simple appearance, a physiognomy so typical that he ofttimes goes entirely unnoticed even when people he directly knows are looking for him. He has unstyled dark brown hair and maroon irises. He's quite tan, and tries to maintain physical fitness by exercising routinely. He usually wears collared shirts and jeans, and, with less frequency, t-shirts, with plain grey being his shirt's color trend in both cases. He has no preference for clothing, save for how one should dress for the sake of pragmatism. Throughout the summer, he has an inclination for t-shirts and swim trunks during the more temperate days. He wears ordinary black-limned white running shoes.

Backstory: Hajime was born on a rainy summer night on Solitaire Island to a woman from Bloodmoon Isle and an overprivileged father with ties to nobility. His mother chose his name. His parents divorced while he was at the young age of 12. He has a family, but he seems to have almost entirely forgotten about them (or, rather, repressed his commemorations of them). He's been raised on Solitaire Island for his entire life; the closest he's ever gotten to getting off was being on his father's undocked ship. For the most part, he lives alone; throughout his life, as he worked and studied extensively at school, he and his father both agreed that he should remain secluded. He has several friends, but never actually tries to establish an earnest relationship with any of them. They've sought to console him by claiming him to be quick-to-wit, although he has always known they were merely patronizing him to sate his ego and compensate for his inability to associate with people with whom he could have actually been quite dear friends. He doesn't value himself any more than another person's life, and he has done some things with his spare time to aid other people at the expense of himself, which is precisely why he has so many loose friends. He raised himself as a cynic, and lives in an apartment afforded by his family on the coast, away from other people. His father's association with the current state of royalty has become more direct; since the recent rearrangement in Solitaire Island's regal status quo, his father's position as royalty has risen even higher than before (naturally, his father's not the king, but he does hold a position noteworthy of being close to the concurrent king). Hajime typically isn't willing to disclose his family's involvement with the newly arranged governing structure, even to the people he does know. With the past year of reclusive, copious study gradually approaching a close, Hajime is resolute to do something he deems worthwhile with his life.

Ability: His mother was a shapeshifter who dropped out of college, who belonged to a prestigious family, yet, disappointingly, had little talent for it herself. Her ability was very limited; she didn't have the diversity or volition in her use of the ability that normal people had, and she nearly always failed to use it herself as her situation requested whenever tested. Unlike most people who have this ability, his comes in response to a need, and, while he can't physically alter himself in accordance with his will, it functions more effectively, suited perfectly for whatever environs he may find himself in; for the sake of example, if he was drowning in seawater, he'd develop certain modified attributes of a fish.

Talent: He has tremendous physical resilience; he's never broken a bone, and, given due time, his flesh injuries will recover with remarkable speed. He can understand an extent of a person's intent simply by looking at them or feeling their potential motives behind an action, which rises with the experience he has with them; this could be used to his advantage in precognition during a fight, or in large-scale strategy. He's also skilled in several practices of medicine, and studies in his spare time to be able to use them more adeptly; more than simply having expertise with types of drugs and herbs, if he ever learned for himself how to perform some kind of healing magic, to say his proficiency in it would be exceptional would be an understatement.

Initially I wasn't going to sign up for this, but after reading the sign up my mind wouldn't stop working. Sounds like a lot of fun, though! Hopefully my character's okay.

Name: Lucinda (Lucy) Lotus
Age: 10
Gender: Female
Homeland: Unknown
Appearance: Despite her age, Lucy stands at 6'2" and gives off the appearances of a young adult. She has dark brown hair which she keeps in a ponytail. She has a lotus flower that attaches to her hair right from where her ponytail forms. Her eyes are green, though she normally covers them with a pair of her favorite black sunglasses. She likes to wear sweaters or anything else that's cozy, and wears jeans to accompany them. On her feat, she wears sandals. She has no special features, though her skin is abnormally pale with a tint of green.

She always carries a green bag around with her that she keeps over her shoulder. It's used to carry sticks, as well as any other items she may need.

Backstory: Lucy is the descendant of a plant and giant, coming from way up in her family tree. Her powers originate from them, though more on the plant side of her family. She is not aware of why she has her powers, so she has always gone with the assumption that she has a special connection with nature, which she indeed does. She is one of the few in her family to have this ability.

Her childhood is mostly a blur, and she has never met her family. The first of her memories are that of when she traveled on ships, which she still does today. She has become a sailor in trade, making a living from working on various ships. Unfortunately, this has really been the only thing she's been doing for her entire life. She discovered her abilities while one day exploring an island her ship was ported at. Her curiosity grew, and she eventually decided to train herself. Though she doesn't often, she has to as it's her only defense.

Recently, however, she decided that she was tired of life and sea and was leaving at the next island she arrived at. This island just so happens to be Solitaire Island, where she is attending the King's Ball.

Ability: Lucy has the ability to turn sticks into deadly weapons. Though her skills are mediocre at best, her latent abilities are extreme. The weapons she can creature range from swords, axes, hammers, guns, maces, and the like. The length of her weapon is the same of the stick she chooses to transform, which can sometimes be a hindrance to her ability. The weapons she can make are not something out of the ordinary (or at least, at the moment) and are truthfully nothing too special. For guns or anything else that needs ammo, she can transform a blade of grass into a single piece of ammo to supply her weapon. They always come fully stocked, though. The weapons she creates last forever, unless they break, which they then turn back into a broken stick.

Note: she cannot transform just plain old wood. It must be sticks from any plant or plant-bearing animal.

Talents:
> Being a descendant of a giant, Lucy does have abnormal strength. She can't go picking up buildings and whatnot, though. At best, she can snap a small tree in half.
> Another ancestral gift she attains is a vast knowledge of plants and their uses. By taking just one glance at foliage, she can recite their name, medicinal use, and any other factoid she wants.
> Lucy gains energy from the sun, and can heal wounds more efficiently from it. Her injuries don't go away instantaneously, but the sun can speed up the power and rate at which the healing occurs. The darkness does not drain her of energy or anything like that, she just doesn't gain anything.
