I had Pokemon Sword and I am planning on getting Pokemon Shield in the future, can I get the DLC for both versions?

SwSh Can I get the DLC for Pokemon Shield?

You'll have to buy the DLC for both versions separately (unless you just want the update, which won't have all the new content but will have the expanded Dex, in which case that is free). But, yes, as long as you buy the DLC for both versions, you can pick up Shield at any time and play the updated content when you get it. Hope that helps.

You can, but you have to buy them separately. It's basically two separate dlcs for each version, even though there are only slight differences like the rivals
