A Mass Outbreak of Delibird
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are celebrating the holiday season and the new year with a selection of Mass Outbreaks and Tera Raids over the next two weeks.

Mass Outbreaks of Dratini, Jangmo-o, and Duraludon

Mass Outbreaks with Delibird and Dragon-types!
Starting this Friday, December 23rd, at Midnight (UTC) and ending Sunday, December 24th, at 11:59pm (UTC), mass outbreaks of Delibird will be more likely to appear across Paldea, Kitakami, and at Blueberry Academy's Terarium.

This will then be followed by Mass Outbreaks of Dragon-type Pokémon from Monday, December 25th, at Midnight (UTC), until Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, at 11:59pm (UTC). Dratini will appear in Paldea, Jangmo-o in Kitakami, and Duraludon in the Blueberry Academy Terarium.

While these events do not require the DLC, players without it will only be able to participate in the Mass Outbreaks of Delibird and Dratini appearing in the Paldea region.

To participate in these mass outbreak events, players will need to download and install the latest update data; and to download the latest Poké Portal News. If players have connected their Nintendo Switch system to the internet while playing Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, this should happen automatically. Players can also manually download the Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Check Poké Portal News. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required.

Water Tera-type Walking Wake and Psychic Tera-type Iron Leaves
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves return to Tera Raids!

Also starting from Monday, December 25th, at Midnight (UTC), and running through until Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at 11:59pm (UTC), Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will once again be appearing in 5-star Tera Raid Battles.

Walking Wake will appear exclusively for players with Pokémon Scarlet, while Iron Leaves will be appearing exclusively in Pokémon Violet. All Walking Wake and Iron Leaves encountered during this debut event for the Pokémon will have the Water and Psychic Tera Types respectively.

Similar to the Pokémon from the 7-star Mightiest Mark Tera Raids, the Paradox Pokémon from these special raids can only be caught once per save data. Players who already caught them back in the original events in March and May, or who catch them during this latest appearance, may still participate in additional Tera Raid Battles against them together with other players in order to earn additional battle rewards. The two Paradox Pokémon may appear again in other events, or be encounterable in different ways in the future.

To encounter these Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, players will need to download the latest Poké Portal News. If players have connected their Nintendo Switch system to the internet while playing Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, this will happen automatically. Players can also manually download the Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Check Poké Portal News. After that, players will be able to start a Tera Raid Battle simply by walking up to and interacting with an appropriate Tera Crystal in-game. In the overworld, the Tera Crystals associated with these raids can be differentiated from other Tera Raid crystals by their aura, which is mostly clearly visible when looking at crystals on the map. While players can freely engage in local Tera Raid Battles with other players, a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to join up with other trainers online for Tera Raid Battles.
