Celebrate the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl with Pokémon GO

Niantic has announced that Pokémon GO will be holding an in-game event to celebrate the release of the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games on the Nintendo Switch later this month. Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will be appearing more often in Pokémon GO during this time. The event will begin on November 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, and runs through to November 21, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The Pokémon that players can encounter will be split into two parts, each celebrating a different game.

The following bonuses will be active during the event:

• ½ Incubator Distance
• ⅓ Super Incubator Distance

The following new avatar items will be available in the in-game shop starting on November 15, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8), and will continue to be available after the event ends:

• Turtwig Costume
• Chimchar Costume
• Piplup Costume
• Sinnoh Hat
• Sinnoh Top Set
• Sinnoh Pants
• Sinnoh Shoes
• Sinnoh Backpack
• Sinnoh Skirt
• Sinnoh Boots

The following bundles will also be available in the shop throughout the event:

• Event Box (one-time exchange): 20 Poké Balls, one Sinnoh Stone
• Great Box (300 PokéCoins - one-time exchange): three Super Incubators, two Incubators, one Lure Module

Players will also be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

Costumed Pokémon wearing the hat of Lucas and Dawn will be available, including the Shiny variants. A Collection Challenge will be available that requires players to catch all of the costumed Pokémon. Players completing the challenge will earn 1000 XP, 3000 Stardust, and an encounter with Froslass. The Pokémon are:

• Piplup wearing Lucas's hat
• Turtwig wearing Dawn's hat
• Chimchar wearing Dawn's hat
• Piplup wearing Dawn's hat
