There isn't an appreciation thread for this cool ice monster yet, but it definitely deserves some love. Discuss the walking whale here!

Not sure if a whole thread was necessary (they're a bit cringeworthy), but I like the design and its lore. I will use it.

I love whales so I naturally like it too, and its beluga and narwhal inspiration is very nice. It's so far my second favorite Gen 9 Pokemon after Fuecoquito. I recommend Lockstin's video about its origins, I got stunned after he mentioned why its mouth was shaped like that.

To be fair, while Lockstin's video is fun (as they usually are), it's wrong on some parts: Cetitan has true teeth, not baleens (it is shown to bite down). The part about Thor's rondels is also farfetched.

Bowheads, belugas, narwhals and sperm whales are probably still the main source of inspiration, but a lot of Pokémon aren't really tied (at all) to their regions in our world.

The Grafaiai video is somehow worse. He tried to reason there being aye-aye in Spain had to do with menageries which focused on capturing ringtailed lemurs and other cute and fuzzy lemurs then a weird gremlin creture that has a 50% chance of being cursed.

But he did make a point about Cetitan about how whales have vestigial limbs and fingers. That's probably one of the reasons why it has legs and mitten fins. I mean other than to separate it from Wailmer and Wailord.
