Champion League Online Competition open for registration in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield - Battles to commence from September 22nd

Registration for the Champion League Online Competition in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield started earlier this week, and will remain open until September 22nd, at 4:59pm (PDT). The competition itself will then run from September 22nd, at 5:00pm, through to September 25th, at 4:59pm (PDT).

Battle Teams for this competition may only consist of the following Pokémon, all of which were used by past Champions from the Pokémon video game series:
Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sandslash, Ninetales, Arcanine, Alakazam, Tentacruel, Magneton, Cloyster, Exeggutor, Rhydon, Gyarados, Lapras, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Aerodactyl, Dragonite, Heracross, Skarmory, Tyranitar, Ludicolo, Aggron, Wailord, Altaria, Whiscash, Claydol, Cradily, Armaldo, Milotic, Salamence, Metagross, Roserade, Gastrodon, Spiritomb, Garchomp, Lucario, Rhyperior, Togekiss, Seismitoad, Archeops, Vanilluxe, Escavalier, Haxorus, Accelgor, Druddigon, Bouffalant, Hydreigon, Volcarona, Aegislash, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, Hawlucha, Carbink, Goodra, Gourgeist, Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, Mr. Rime, and Dragapult.

Only Pokémon obtained in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Sword, or Pokémon Shield games or those with the battle-ready symbol are eligible. This competition will be conducted in Single Battles format. Check in-game for more information on the competition rules.

Trainers who participate in at least one Battle, regardless of whether they win or lose, will earn 50 Battle Points.

To register for the competition, follow these steps:
  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.
To view your rankings after the competition has ended, follow these steps:
  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.
To receive your participation gift after the competition, follow these steps:
  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select Mystery Gift.
  4. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
  5. Select Get Battle Stadium Rewards.
