I'm a little lost on the items thing. What are they for exactly and how do they work with the game?

Items will be randomly given to players at the beginning of the game. They can be passed on at any time unless otherwise specified.
These items will have different and limited uses, most of which are vague or unspecified.

@Sword Master; sorry, RMafia will be my last game for a while. I've got a slew of holidays coming up, and it's not fair to other players that I'll be gone for ~50 hour blocks, in addition to my usual ~25 hour block off every week for my Sabbath.
