Charmander is the featured Pokémon for the next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic, running this weekend on September 2nd

Niantic has announced that the next Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event will feature the Lizard Pokémon, Charmander. During this event, Charmander will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and its Shiny variant also available to be encountered. The event will be held on September 2nd, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time.

Community Day exclusive Field Research will be available during the event, awarding an encounter with Charmander, which rarely may be Shiny. A Community Day Special Research story: Charmander Community Day Classic, will also be available for purchase at US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). This Special Research can also be gifted to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

PokéStop Showcases for Charmander and Charizard will be running throughout the event at different PokéStops. During the event, Trainers will also be able to receive event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts. These stickers will also be available for purchase from the in-game shop.

The following event bonuses will be active throughout the event's 3-hour period:

• 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon
• Incense (except Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
• Trainers can receive a special surprise by taking a few in-game snapshots during the event period

Additionally, Charmeleon that are evolved into Charizard between 2:00pm and 7:00pm local time on the day of the Community Day Classic will learn the Fast Attack Dragon Breath, and the Charged Attack Blast Burn.
