Contest Chikorita vs. Totodile vs. Cyndaquil

Chikorita first and fo'evs. Plus, she makes you put in the work in the games by being at a major disadvantage in relation to all the gyms. Worth it though!

What is a supporter?
I believe a supporter is generally someone that isn’t very strong offensively and mainly supports their team, allies, etc. with non-offensive moves that heal, buff stats, and so on. Meganium isn’t the most powerful offensively, but it is decent defensively and does have access to supporting moves like Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, Aromatherapy, etc.

Ok cool. What kind of circumstances would such a pokemon be useful?

Honestly, I can’t really think of anything specific outside of competitive play against other people. I’ve never really found anything other than straight offense useful during in-game playthroughs; support just wastes turns you could use on taking out your opponent with supereffective attacks.

So how would you use them in competitive play? Like in double battles? Also how do you do competitive play (I have Alpha Sapphire)?
(Like, literally how do you get to where you do it?)
