Sonic and his friends were enjoying a party together, celebrating their latest victory over the mad scientist Doctor Eggman, having thwarted his attempt to conquer the world with the Phantom Ruby. Everything was peaceful and all seemed to be well, until suddenly the festivities were interupted by a loud explosion. The air filled with black smoke and the sound of the partiers panicking was abruptly broken by the sound of maniacal laughter and the blurry vision of a shadowy figure holding aloft a glowing gem. The gem suddenly burst into life emitting flashes of enveloping light in all directions and a distinct crackling sound as the world around them melted away.



As the light and sound dissipated and the world reformed into existence the partiers found themselves separated from one another and in a different but familiar location surrounded by Green Hills, Waterfalls and Wooden Bridges...

First introduced in the spin-off game Knuckles Chaotix for the Mega 32X/Sega 32X in 1995, you are the most serious of the Chaotix team and being a Chameleon are able to blend in with your surrounds and appear invisible, combined with your training as a ninja you are able to move around undetected and gain intelligence on opponents.

Given your ninja intelligence gathering abilities, you are the Tracker. Each night during the game you may submit the action Track: <player> in order to follow the targeted player during that night and find out if they visited any other players.

Espio glanced around at his new surroundings trying to work out what may have happened, how did I get here and where are the others he thought. It was at this point he notices some movement in the distance, something was headed his way, quickly altering his pigmentation to camouflage himself and hiding on a ledge he was passed by convoy of Moto Bugs speeding their way off to another location, the Moto Bugs were then quickly followed by a swarm of Buzz Bombers. Realising something must have happened to gain the bots's attention he stealthily decided to pursue the hoard of bots in order to gain some intelligence on the situation. From a distance he followed the bots to a clearing and perched on a high vantage point on a wooden bridge spanning a river he observed a hooded figure meeting with the army of bots whose number had just been supplemented by a joining platoon of Crabmeats and Newtrons. Struggling to hear Espio focused intently on the gathering when heard a loud slashing sound close when suddenly the bridge beneath him gave way as the bridge's support ropes snapped. Screaming, Espio plunged into the river below and the jaws of the waiting Choppers.

The Phantom Ruby bursts into life once more and in a dazzling display of light reality dissolves away and reforms into a new setting of Neon Lights and Slot Machines

You are Ray the Flying Squirrel, one of Sonic’s lesser known friends from the past who made a recent reappearance in Sonic Mania. First introduced in the Arcade spin-off game SegaSonic the Hedgehog in 1993, you are an excitable and friendly albeit somewhat scatterbrained Flying Squirrel who is able to glide on the wind using the skin flaps under your arms.

Given your friendly and eager nature you are the Friendly Neighbour. Each night during the game you may submit the action Befriend: <player>, this will result in the targeted player being sent a message informing them that you are town aligned, you do not get to find out their alignment however.

In short, you are Ray the Flying Squirrel, Friendly Neighbour, you are aligned with Sonic’s Friends and win when all threats to the Town are eliminated.

Looking around at the neon lit metropolis he now found himself in Ray jumped around in excitement. Making his way up to a high vantage point Ray leapt off and began to glide around above his new surroundings to see if he could spot any of his friends. As he soared above the illuminated landscape below he notice a particularly bright flash as a bolt of electricity struck him out of nowhere causing him to fall out of the air. Curling up into a ball Ray fell into a large slot machine which activated once he was inside, the reels spun before stopping on three images of Dr Eggman, a load of sharp metal spiked objects appeared out of nowhere and flew into Ray, stripping him of all his protective rings. “Help” Ray screamed before being answered by a Weasel sporting a pop gun who was sitting atop the machine, “Why, what’s it worth to me” he replied. The reels spun again, this time stopping on three rings prizing Ray with some rings. “Well doesn’t look like you need my help kid” remarked Fang as he sat watching the events unfold. As he laughed coldly he had not noticed a shadowy figure who had snuck up behind him, surprising him the shadow figure showed Fang into the machine too, the reels spun again once again stopping on three Eggmans, the spiked objects appeared again stripping the two of their rings. The machine suddenly disengaged and the two fell out of the bottom of the machine and came to an abrupt end upon land on a bed of spikes that had just been laid out by a team of Crawls.

You are Mighty the Armadillo, one of Sonic’s lesser known friends from the past who made a recent reappearance in Sonic Mania. First introduced in the Arcade spin-off game SegaSonic the Hedgehog in 1993, you later made an appearance in the spin-off game Kunckles Chaotix for the Mega 32X/Sega 32X in 1995. Your story is kind of one of what could have been as you were one of the initial designs for the main character in what would become the Sonic series, ultimately losing out to Sonic himself, perhaps in an alternate universe right now we could be talking about the Mighty series and your role in Classic Mighty Mafia. Personality wise, you’re generally a peaceful guy but are willing to fight to protect others that you care about, you’re strong and durable shell is particularly useful in protecting you from spikes and projectiles when in danger.

As your hard shell protects you from most hazardous objects and attacks you are the Ascetic. As a result of this all roles that target you during the night will always fail, this does not protect you from night kills however.

You are a Flicky, one of the mysterious birds that live in different dimensions and can travel anywhere through large rings. First appearing before the inception of the Sonic series in the 1984 Arcade game Flicky, Flickies have been a staple of the sonic series since Sonic 1 as some of the animals that can be rescued from being trapped inside Dr Eggman’s army of Badnik Robots. One of the Flickies most notable appearances however was in the 1996 Mega Drive/Genesis spin-off game Sonic 3D Blast/3D Flickies Island which was also later ported to the Sega Saturn. In Sonic 3D, Sonic had to save 5 Flickies in order for them to open a large ring portal to transport him to the next area.

You are Miles “Tails” Prower, a two-tailed fox with the ability to fly and Sonic’s best friend and sidekick. Although famed for your appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in 1992, your first appearance was actually as a non-playable character in the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Master System and Game Gear. You are best known for your ability to fly by spinning your signature tails like a helicopter rotor. You are also a skilled mechanic and pilot, often assisting Sonic by flying his plane, the Tornado and have a genius level intellect rivalling that of Doctor Eggman.

Your best friend and hero is Sonic the Hedgehog who you admire and look up to as an older brother type figure. As your such good friends it’s only natural you should team up to take on Eggman together, as such you are Masons, you know each other’s alignment and share your own private chat.

You are Knuckles the Echidna, the last of the Echidna tribe and protector Angel Island and the Master Emerald. First introduced in Sonic 3 on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis in 1994, you are the solitary guardian of Angel Island who zealously guards the Master Emerald from anyone who would harm it or intend to misuse its powers, setting traps and coming into direct conflict with intruders in order to fulfil your role. Although dutiful and loyal to your cause, you are also somewhat gullible and mistrustful of others which has been taken advantage of by villains such as Dr Eggman, tricking you on numerous occasions to believe Sonic and his friends are the enemy and causing conflict between you whilst plotting to steal the Master Emerald behind your back during the distraction. Upon discovery of being tricked however, you’ll soon switch to Sonic’s side and are willing to work together to fight the real villain. Though time you have come to regard Sonic as both your rival and friend.

As you are fairly susceptible to being tricked by Dr Eggman into fighting against the Sonic and his friends, you are the Miller and will show as being aligned with the Mafia if you are checked by a Cop.

You also keep a watchful eye on Angel Island in case of intruders seeking to steal the Master Emerald, because of this you are the Watcher. Each night during the game you may submit the action Watch: <Player> in order to see if the targeted player was visited by any other players during that night.

First introduced in the original Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis back in 1991, you are famed for your supersonic speed, running loop de loops and foiling the evil schemes of the mad scientist Dr Eggman who likes to kidnap your animal friends and place them inside robot badniks as part of his plans for world domination.

You’re best friend and sidekick is the two-tailed fox Miles “Tails” Prower, as your such good friends it’s only natural you should team up to take on Butnik together, as such you are Masons, you know each other’s alignment and share your own private chat.

You also have several abilities which help you to progress though zones in the games, two of these are the 1x Spin Dash and 1x Super Peel Out. During the night you may choose to use either of these abilities by submitting the words Spin Dash <player> or Super Peel Out <player>, however you may only use one of these abilities per night and they can each only be used a single time during the game. Spin Dash allows you to charge up power and attack your opponent by rolling into them at high speed, if successful this will kill the intended target. Super Peel Out allows you to take off into full running speed head off into the horizon, as you are so far away from the other players no one will be able to target you this night.

You are the Tails Doll, a somewhat creepy lifeless-looking doll/robot with a resemblance to Miles “Tails” Prower. Your first and only appearance in the series was in the Sonic R racing spin-off game for the Sega Saturn and the PC in 1997/1998 respectively. Seemingly powered by the mysterious red gem that sticks out of your head you float around in the air and hover around when chasing after your enemies. You are fairly infamous within the Sonic Fandom due to the Crepypasta known as the “Tails Doll Curse” which suggests that you are some kind of demonic entity that can escape from the game under certain circumstances and hunt down those who summoned him. You are also apparently fond of the song “Can You Feel the Sunshine” which appears as the soundtrack for the first race track in Sonic R, Resort Island.

Due to your ‘alleged’ demonic and murderous nature, you are the 1x Bulletproof, Ninja, Odd Night Serial Killer. You are both difficult to kill and track, you can survive one attempt at killing you during the night and will never appear in a report if someone attempts to watch or track you. You are Doctor Eggman sometimes known as Doctor Robotnik, the evil genius scientist with an IQ of 300 and an aspiration to conquer the world. First appearing in the original Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis back in 1991, you are Sonic the Hedgehog’s arch nemesis and the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Your nefarious schemes often involve you capture small animals to power your army of badnik robots to conquer the world and coming up with inventive new traps and weapons to finally rid yourself of that annoying blue hedgehog. You are also known for making numerous attempts to obtain the Chaos Emeralds or Master Emerald in order power your most powerful weapons or drive forwards your plans.

In addition to the role detector, you also have the 1x Silencer and 1x Rolestopper at your disposal. During the night you may choose to use either of these abilities by submitting the actions Silence <player> or Rolestop <player>, however you may only use one of these abilities per night and they can each only be used a single time during the game. The Silencer allows you to prevent the target player from speaking during the next day phase, with them only being able to post in order to vote. The Rolestopper allows you block all night actions from working on a targeted player for that night.

You are Charmy Bee, one of the members of Team Chaotix. First introduced in the spin-off game Knuckles Chaotix for the Mega 32X/Sega 32X in 1995, you are the youngest and least serious of the Chaotix team, a hyper energetic and playful Bee you have a tendency to get on the nerves of your fellow team members Espio and Vector but still regard you as an important and invaluable member of the team.

When threatened or in danger you can avenge yourself with your trusty stinger, because of this you are the Vengeful. If you are lynched/killed during the game you may choose to avenge yourself by stinging one of the other players, as a result the targeted player will die at the end of the next phase. Upon being lynched/killed you may submit the action Sting: <player> in order to target the player you wish to revenge kill, the targeted player will not be informed that they have been stung.

First introduced in the spin-off game Knuckles Chaotix for the Mega 32X/Sega 32X in 1995, you are the leader of the Chaotix team, a natural detective who examines the evidence to find the facts, you are expert at tracking down suspects and determining guilt.

Given your detective abilities it’s only natural that you are the Cop. Each night during the game you may submit the action Cop Check: <player> in order to check the alignment of the alignment of the targeted player.
