Clever Pokémon Nicknames

I think I'll train a Gardevoir, but it has to be male so that I can name it "100% Man" or "I'm a guy."

And I recently named a Zebstrika Zebray. I think it sounds better.

In my current Sapphire Nuzlocke Challenge, I have 5 Pokémons, all lvl 16, before even taking on Roxanne. Here are their nicknames :

Mudkip (M) = Ike. Since one of the aspects of the Nuzlocke Challenge reminded me of the Fire Emblem series (when your partner dies, you don't see him/her again), and the fact that I prefer Ike over Marth in Brawl helps it, I guess.

Beautifly (F) = Annie. I was listening to "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson when I caught her. She had 1 HP left when I captured her, which fits one of the lines in the song "Are you okay, Annie ?" 8D

Zigzagoon (F) = Lucy. I named her after a character from the anime "F-Zero Falcon Densetsu". Click this part to see how she looks like.

Shroomish (M) = Stuan. Actually, I did not name him by myself, I let an unreliable name generator I have in my PC giving a list of 100 names that contains between 4 and 10 characters (the settings that were put at the time). I then choose 2 numbers (one for the line to choose, the other for the column) and Stuan was chosen. Actually, it is one of the more decents names that generator gave me (when you see a generated name like Ljifnifleyd or Klefuplyf, you wonder what the creators of that name generator were smoking XD).

Taillow (F) = Jarona. I named her after the character I currently have in Dungeons & Dragons. That is all XD

Mine are just stupid.
Samurott- Sea Otter.
Zangoose- Claw Dude
Karrablast- kilshelmet (Kill Shelmet)
Pupitar- monsterbro

I called my Snivy Saladzar. It has three potential "puns":

Salad. Made up of vegetables. Vegetables/plants = grass-types stereotypically.
Salazar Slytherin. Connection to snakes in the Harry Potter series.
Tzar/Tsar. Russian royalty, I believe. Serperior has a connection to French royalty or something.

The best nickname I ever came up with on my own.

As a naruto fan, this would be awesome

Ninetails: Naruto
Shiftry: Jiraiya
Snorlax: Choji
gardivoir: shikamaru (because it learns shadow sneak and when evolves into gardivoir, its pokedex entry says it will protect its trainers life. just like shikamaru did/does.)
Lopunny: Ino?

So I've saved one of my eggs on my Golett shiny hunt and I'm thinking of giving the hatchling one of these names:
Riker
Crusher
Data
Imzadi <-- Really leaning towards this one.

What number egg is it? Number 1,701. XD

I see i'm not the only one who's done that. Although i got one more for you: Octillary- Killer Bee. The funny thing is if people don't know the reference, it can be funny watching them try to figure out why i named an octopus after an insect.

Delcatty(male)- Drag Queen
Voltorb- Pokeball?!
Gulpin- MileyCyrus (in 5 years she will be a gulpin >_>)
Buneary(female) Bunni(creative i know)
Gardevoir(female)- Mah Bitch ( no explenation needed >:3)
Whismur(....Male)- Bubblez(now an exploud so its funny)
Wigglytuff- Jell-o
Bidoof- Sex Slave
Machoke-Date Rape
ect....:3

I understand it!

You could also nickname lucario Neji?

hey guys i'm an avid digimon fan as you may have guessed by my username
some of the nicknames you're about to see are based off of what digimon i think fits said pokemon description
btw if i play as the male character (more often than not) i name him Tai if i play as the female character (rare but then again only when i feel like playing as her) i name her Kari
Gardevoir/Angewomon (just because gardevoir is my fave pokemon and angewomon is my fave digimon)
Garchomp/Azulongmon (because they're both dragons)
Infernape/Meramon (both are humanoid fire-types)
Charizard/Greymon or GeoGreymon (because they look alike)
Blaziken/C.Falcon (mainly because Blaziken reminds me so much of Captain Falcon)
can't think of anymore at the moment i'd have to go through all my pokemon games lol

So, you play Brawl too and using Ike huh? My four best characters would have to be, in order: Pokemon Trainer (mainly because of Charizard's Rock Smash), Ike (no explanation needed there), Lucario (the phrase what doesn't kill you makes you stronger applys for him, and my best character from both Melee and 64 Captain Falcon!

When I finished my shiny Golett hunt, I head to the Daycare and find that the parents had produced one final egg. So I grabbed it, Mama Ditto and Papa Golurk and for the heck of it, hatched it. I named the newly hatched normal colored Golett "Laster", since he was the last Golett born from those two parents. It seemed fitting enough.

Most of the time I'll give them names that don't really match the Pokémon's appearance, like "Charles" for my Mewtwo in Red or "Jules" after Jules Verne for my Gengar.
I haven't nicknamed any of my Pokémon in Black, but once (hopefully) my Tyrogue evolves into Hitmonlee, I'm going to name him "Bruce". :3

In my latest playthrough of Black, I'm naming them all after songs by either Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, or Slayer. Going pretty well.

@We'reBlastinOffAgain; Funny, I named my Castform the same thing.

i call my growlithe based dog even though that's not really very funny. i had a few really good ones that i've since forgotten. lickitung = fellatio is obvious but not that good. starmie = in a porno is fun.

naming your pokemon sex jokes is somewhat puerile, but it gets the job done. also, if you want to see amusing nicknames, fisdunction's youtube channel is an excellent place to start!!! fidelgastro (i know that doesn't fit, but i forgot what he truncated it to) is an absolutely perfect name for a gastrodon, and it only gets better.

tauros is lt. daniels (my rationale behind this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7iOGfUdn0o)

I'll usually give my Togepi the name 'Aisuta', as I've heard it meant 'love star' in Japanese. Gave my Lapras 'Nevicate' since the ever-accurate google translate said it meant 'snowfall' in Italian.
