We'll most likely get evolutions of the starters roughly around the time the games will be released in Japan. It happened back then, and I highly doubt it will change.

Re: CoroCoro Discussion Thread (Current Issue: July 2010)

Yea, I'd agree that generation 1 was minimalistic but it's hard to call it uncreative. That generation was the first attempt to make a creative style of creatures that isn't comparable or considered a knock off of/to other brand. And they passed with flying colors and created a worldwide sensation out of it. They didn't know what they were doing so they didn't want to go too out there and create things people couldn't relate to.

It's best shown in Hoenn that it's easier to take chances later on in a saga of games when people are expecting something and go above and beyond that. But to say even pikachu, an electric rat, isn't creative for coming out in 1996 and starting a new type of video game that's been attempted to be replicated mutliple times is just silly as is assuming that the creators just jumped into a new game series knowing exactly what they're doing. If you can come out of nowhere with an idea that's never been done and have the success that R/B/G had in it's time, it's just trademark original.

I think it's time for a cool picture.

I seriously lol'd at the Gyarados one, but I feel guilty about it :/.

True that. You get a cake, no lie, for putting yourself in GF's old shoes.

Oh hey, that's exactly what I put.

I appear to have beaten you to the punch, Mr. Faction.

EDIT: Oops, wait, never mind, the source where I got that picture from was down.

*I saw* (My apologies.)

I think it works either way... something like "I seen that dude over there" and "I saw that dude over there" sound okay either way.

Re: CoroCoro Discussion Thread (Current Issue: July 2010)

so am i the only person that thinks the girls pokedex looks like an iPod and the guys looks like a Zune?

cuz that was my first reaction

i'm just surprised that other people know what a zune was. i have one and nobody seems to know what it is.

actually it looks like it slides up like a slide phone, but in the picture a the girl's is in the closed condition and the boys is open.

I think it's pretty cool how the Pokedex's almost look like some sort of cellphone... and it fits, especially since the protagonists are supposed to be teenagers or pretty close to it. Teenagers and their cellphones... FFFFFFFFFFFFF.

i can see where you're coming from (where's it sliding from though, the back? in the pic the girls looks thicker)
and judging by the little dot things on the bottom, a phone doesnt seem like too far a stretch...

oh well, i guess we're just gonna have to wait and see

Re: CoroCoro Discussion Thread (Current Issue: July 2010)

I never said they did look alike. I was saying it's been branded a Starly clone, but personally I don't think it is. The last thing it needs is a similar name to Pidgey to get all the haters complaining about it looking like Starly and having a name like Pidgey. And then it will end up "THEY'RE RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS". And that's just getting annoying.

Will we see the starters evos before release in a future Corocoro? Or do they leave them till people evolve them in-game?

I know I was pointing out they don't look alike to the people who say they do..

It pisses me off as well... I'm a vetern player... my first game being yellow. But to be honest Gen I is my least favorite Gen... It is just so bland... I know it's the start of the franchise and I respect it for that but ?

The Graohics were terrible The types... god Psychics in Gen I! No Dark or Steel which fixed the Psychic problem. No SpA or SpD just Special... The region was tiny Plus it's hard to level up okemon since there is no rematch feature... Gen I isn't perfect it has many flaws all Gen's do.

Also, we revisted the CoroCoro scans and need to make a few corrections as well as add some info we overlooked:

* Zorua and Zoroark are event-exclusive Pokemon. They do not appear during normal gameplay, at least in Black and White. Therefore, you can only get the two if you preorder a ticket to The Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark and trade over one of the shiny Legendary Beasts (to encounter Zoroark) and if you download the movie Celebi from the theaters and trade it over (to get Zorua).
* Zoroark can learn a new attack called "Night Burst," which lowers the opponent's accuracy. It learns the attack at a high level.
* The event Zoroark you can obtain will know Fury Swipes, Faint Attack, Scary Face, and Taunt.
* Zorua has Scratch, Leer, Pursuit, and Fake Tears.
* The new ability of Meguroko, the Desert Crocodile Pokemon, should be translated as "Overconfidence" rather than "Earthquake Spiral." The ability increases its Attack stat when it Knocks Out a Pokemon.
* Zekrom's ability is named "Teravoltage," not "Terra Voltage." "Tera" is a prefix that means one trillion. Does this mean it can generate a trillion volts of electricity with its tail generator?
* There is a new indicator that shows you the status of the weather, such as if it's raining.
* The gold building in the Reshiram scan (that looks honey-covered) is described as being shaped like a bee's nest.

Oh, Teravoltage.

Terra Voltage didn't exactly make much sense.

The name is Coolcroc.

When your crocodile Pokemon has eyes that mimic sunglasses, there's no other possible name to give it.

What is going on with that last picture. Other two are okay.

Oh, and about the cake...

The cake was NOT a lie. It was shown at the end of the game, before Still Alive.

To me, it looks like it slides open then compresses, like this:

Any good fanart of Chiramii? God I love that Pokemon already.

I think it works either way... something like "I seen that dude over there" and "I saw that dude over there" sound okay either way.

Well, it may come as a shock to you, but what you think is wrong. =/ Sorry. I guess people think this is right because the masses say both. And those that say "I seen" are wrong. 'Seen' should be used with words such as have/has/had/be/being/been. When left alone with the subject, it is "saw".

A lot (and trust me, a freaking shitload) of people say I seen. They don't know any better, because it's almost acceptable in society. But to say it correctly and sound at least somewhat intelligent, it should be said "I saw".
