Correct, I believe that is the right interpretation. Passive Abilities are now "actively" displayed, so that their effects don't go unnoticed.

After seeing the high quality picture of the honeycomb and a trainer in it, I guess we are having another bug gym in the fifth generation. :embarass:

Okay, I don't think this is going to happen at all, but I just had an idea.

What if the starting town is all the way in the east, and you're really travelling to Huin City to get your actual starter. So your mother gives you either Tsutaaja, Pokabu, or Mijumaru.

Then maybe once you reach Huin City, Dr. Araragi will give you the real Isshu starter Pokemon, with them being the Dark-Psychic-Fighting types.
Like I said, I honestly don't think this will happen at all! I just thought about it.

No, Fighting-Psychic-Dark is not a type triangle, the reason being is that Psychic doesnt do anything to Dark.

Flying>fighting>rock>flying is proper triangle though.

Why haven't I seen those yet?

Looks like a honey comb, so it's most likely a insect gym.

Well if it's modeled after a honeycomb...you think there'll be a male Combee evolution!?

I highly doubt there will be an Male Evolution. but since there is honey in the gym, Combee might be in the Isshu regional dex.

So what, Giratina doesn't count? (When I first saw it, I thought it was some sort of strange centipede.)

And I'd love to have a centipede Pokemon.

A local centipede species in Japan is known as Gejigeji

Betting 5 bucks that something like that will be (one of) the "Weak early route bug-type(s)"

OMG! That picture startled me.

And Zekrom, Giratina is different. He doesn't have >9000 legs and he's not creepy.

Re: CoroCoro Discussion Thread (Current Issue: July 2010 | Next Issue: August 2010)

The typical reaction of a Westerner finding a Gejigeji on their arm:

:scared:: OH GOD, JESUS, ALLAH, BUDDHA, WHAT IS THIS

:mail:: Gejigeji! Common in Nippon!

:scared:: SOMEONE HELP ME. OH GOD. OH GOD. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING.

:mail:: What American-jin call Centipede!

:scared:: THIS IS NO CENTIPEDE. THIS IS NO FUCKING CENTIPEDE.

FUN FACT: The Japanese keep these spawn of Elder Gods as pets.

I think you're mixing terms. The word you're looking for is 'creative', not 'original'.
Yes and no. Saying something isn't very original is one way of commenting on a lack of creativity, it's an equally valid term, and the context of my post was clarifying that while the first 151 were THE original Pokemon of the franchise, that does not mean each of their designs were original, in the 'creative' sense.
