Man Kibago really had me thrown for a loop. I did not expect it to have the dragon typing. Also what I thought was his mouth all this time turned out to be part of his nose.

Wow. We got lots of information! I'm so excited now!!

The dream world thing interests me. You can play minigames and get Pokemon while you're in it. I'm going to be sure to try it out as soon as I get the game.

So it seems that Gochiruzeru and Rankurusu are version exclusives. (Hopefully Gochi is in White. I want it since I'm not to fond of the green blob.)

But varying city appearences! Tha's amazing!! :U

NOW Triple Battles are a bit more interesting. Especially seeing how you can change positions mid-battle and the middle Pokemon that uses mass-hitting attacks gets a boost. Cool, cool... I figured the Pokemon on the sides would only attack the ones opposite them rather than adjacent to them. I'm no meta-player but this would imply that a tank or sweeper would take the forward/middle position, right? Because they would get boosts from using attacks like Earthquake or Surf. Especially Surf, because of more common STAB.

Dream world excites me and worries me. It isn't going to be, like... Pokemon as virtual pets, is it? Because I don't know if I like that or not...

I want green blobby in Black. ^_^

Pokemon as virtual pets... That was basically what the Pokewalker was, no? Like a Tomogatchi/Digimon kinda thing. Dream World is just expanding on that I guess.

Wild...Eeveelutions? 0.0

That whole Dream thing is both adorable, and epic. Triple Battles are looking fantastic now too.

Dream mode, huh? Very interesting concept. And this is all through your computer? Excellent. I also love the fact that you can catch outside Pokemon easily.

Locations varying depending on game also sounds really fun. I wonder how they'll handle that for the third game? They're really driving the point home with the nature vs technology theme.

I'm glad to see that triple battles will actually involve some degree of strategy. Anything to make the game more challenging is welcome.
All I need now if for Pokemon to evolve during the battle and not afterward and all of my Pokemon-related wishes will have come true.

There's a picture of Mijumaru smiling.

MIJUMARU. SMILING.

SMILING

Pfft, yeah, a happy Mijumaru. In it's dreams!

In any case, some of those dream screenshots are mighty interesting, particulary the ones that look as if they're using some large, rather nice looking sprite artwork. I'm really curious as to whether that's only for a select few pokemon or if it's available to all.

Seeing that Gothic thing's official art makes it look even more weird and clunky, and for that reason I now think it's awesome. Real shame it and the blob dude are version exclusives, as I rather like both. Ahh well, online trading, ho!

Re: CoroCoro Discussion Thread (Current Issue: August 2010)

Pokebeach CoroCoro update
In 3-on-3 battles, if your Pokemon is, for example, on the far left, it won't be able to hit a Pokemon on the far right. There is a button on the bottom left hand corner of the battle screen which is called "Move" and allows you to swap your Pokemon's positions. Thus, a Pokemon on the far right can hit the opponent's Pokemon that are on the far right as well as the middle. The magazine also says that if the Pokemon in the middle uses an attack that hits all Pokemon, then it will be very powerful

Thank goodness that you can switch position between teams, I guess I'd be wanting my Pokemon with the most coverage in the centre.

Rankurusu (the green cell) and Gochiruzeru (the black humanshaped Pokemon) are both version-exclusives, but it doesn't say which is in which version

As much as I want Lady Gaga, I want Homunculus more, so I'm going where Rankurusu is.

There will be cities that look different based on the version even though they are the same city. In the bottom two screenshots on the left page, you can see one city that looks different in both versions of the game

We complained, Game Freak answered and they provided. Now they are giving us a reason why the games should be split into two versions. I'm guessing the more techno one is the one with Reshiram just to screw with us.
Kibago (キバゴ) is the Tusk Pokemon, a Dragon-type. Its abilities are Rivalry and Mold Breaker. It has a new attack called Double Chop (ダブルチョップ), which hits the opponent twice. It is 0.6m tall and weighs 18.0kg.

More evidence towards being pseudo-legend? I was so hoping it wasn't another Dragon, mostly because I want more common dragons like Altaria.
Rankurusu (ランクルス) is the Amplification Pokemon, a Psychic-type. It knows a new ability called "Dust-Proof" (ぼうじん), which prevents your Pokemon from taking damage from weather effects such as Sandstorm and Hail, as well as Magic Guard, which was previously exclusive to the Clefable line. It stands 1.5m tall and weighs 44.0kg
I am loving how Rankurusu have abilities and moves that negate things. Definitely going to be Father on my FMA team.

Wargle (ウォーグル) is the Valor Pokemon, a Normal/Flying type. Its name derives from "war" and "eagle." One of its abilities is Keen Eye and the other is Encourage, which boosts the power of its attacks but prevents any secondary effects such as Poisoning or Burning (Hihidaruma has the same ability). It can learn a new attack called Free Fall (フリーフォール), which involves the Pokemon grabbing the opponent, lifting it into the air, and then on the next turn throwing it to the ground. It stands 1.5m tall and weighs 41.0 kg.

Yeah, I doubt inflicting secondary effects is part of this bird's strategy.

In the World of Dreams, your Pokemon have their own rooms that they can play in and they can play mini-games with other Pokemon. Pokemon that your Pokemon becomes friends with in the dream world can be taken back to the real world, being your game; you can capture Pokemon not available in the Isshu PokeDex and transfer them to your games in this fashion. To transfer Pokemon to the computer and thus to the World of Dreams, there will be a new Game Sync option available through the C Gear, which allows you to choose one Pokemon to send to your computer.

This sounds interesting. Now hopefully people have enough common sense that those calling Munna's evolution a fetus will realize that thing coming out of its head is a damn dream bubble type thing.

The two different cities sorta puts more credibility to my Past-Present idea.

And trading from boxes? Epic win.

Except they use the same characters, so alternate universes are probably a better description.

Not like it matters, the cities will probably merge in Gray version.
