So, if Dawn's returning to the anime, and there's this new World Tournament thing, does this mean we might get to see Misty and Brock in the anime again?
It's not impossible, especially with what we're getting right now.

I had some time to think, and I get the feeling they are going to change the name of "Pokewood" for the English release.

Is it me, or did Bianca take Cheren's glasses because they look just like the ones he had in B/W and now he doesn't have them.

I'm also wondering what Dawn is doing in Unova.

I just looked at the artwork for B/W Cheren and Bianca from the CoroCoro scans, the glasses are different. So it's just you.

Re: CoroCoro reveals new information on Black 2 and White 2: New Black 2 White 2 info

Bianca's new design looks damn awesome and Cheren is looking like a gentleman.
I second that.

According to what Cheren says in BW, i wasn't surprised much that he became a Gym Leader. Sadly, i can't read Japanese but do the pages confirm he is the first Leader you face during the course of the game? This would surprise me, since he beat the Elite Four during the last games. I also wonder if he will be a pure Normal-type trainer or will use different types like Blue in Generation II/IV.

Pokéwood looks interesting. I wonder if walking/overworld sprites will make a return, i think i spotted a Leavanny in one of the scans. The Mecha-Godzilla reference is also nice. I would appreciate it if the "movies" could be shared, like battle videos.

The World Tournament looks great, it is probably the place Cynthia mentioned earlier. But i do wonder about the ruleset, will it be open level or more akin to the Battle Frontier of past games.

The Kami-Trio's new formes? At first, i was a bit surprised, but they still look great. I would support the Aztec myth theory brought up somewhere earlier, which compares them to Quetzalcoatl(Voltolos), Huitzilopochtli (Tornadus) and Tepeyollotl (Landorus), respectively.

Also, haters gonna hate but they do remind me of Digimon Frontier for some reason : ).

All in all, those games are getting better and better. I am so going to import them this time.

Even if i followed Best Wishes! only peripherally, Best Wishes 2 sure looks interesting.

It would be a fitting name even for international audiences, since many people are familiar with Hollywood, so why should they change that? Since Unova draws inspiration from various places in North America, Pokéwood would fit in well.

I agree with the Kami Trio second forms being based on Aztec gods rather than the four celestial beings of Chinese myth that was assumed on the forums yesterday.

It would fit and expand on the 'american'-theme of the previous games.

Well, I viewed Tornadus's Sacred Beast forme to seem more like something from Native American folklore...

Anyway, I have a question regarding the Aztec theory. First, is there a relation between the current theme (wind, lightning, agriculture) and the proposed Aztec legends? It's one thing to note similarities in animals (it gets pretty vague with such popular creatures like birds, serpantine dragons, and big cats), but its another to have them thematically match up. Failing that (since they may get a different theme in this forme, though they don't change types so I doubt it), is there a relation between these Aztec legendary creatures? Fujin and Raijin were, after all, connected.

I'd like to think there was another basis to this other than matching up animals. I think the main argument is that those creatures were previously human?

The same crest for the tourney is seen with Achroma's appearance. I full and well believe this thing will be wholly important in-game.
Maybe i missed something, but who the heck is Achroma?

This guy.

He is a scientist researching Pokemon strength. His affiliation is currently unknown. He is seen many times in the trailers, and he is featured in the opening of B2/W2.

Aztec/Maya myth fits also well into the "America"-theme of the games, i think. The Kami could be considered the Japanese counterparts to them which further supports the assumption. As for relations, that is somewhat difficult to tell, as many Aztec deities (and their myths and legends) are often confused with others and, therefore diffiult to tell apart. Huitzilopochtli (Tornadus, green hummingbird) is associated with the left, and also has a sister (Note that the Kami are all male.), Malinalxochitl, who is associated with snakes, and was also Huitzilopochtlis rival. So she could serve as inspiration for Voltolos Sacred Beast Forme. There is also Tetzcatlipoca, who is depicted as Jaguar (Landorus), may be also mistaken for Xipe Totec (who represents agriculture). Tetzcatlipoca is also a rival of Quetzalcoatl (who could represent Voltolos).

There is nothing for sure, and the important flaws of this assumption are that the Maya/Aztec gods are horribly different to tell apart, and the ones which are believed to provide inspiration are not related in the way with each other like the Kami are. Also, the elements don't match in most cases. But GAME FREAK may be also pretty creative here.

edit: Wait, where the f*** did you get the idea from BW is 10 years after gen IV anyway?
The whole thing about the speech-impaired TR guy from GSC/HGSS settling down in Unova and starting a family. Before I heard about that, I had assumed that BW took place about 1-2 years after Generation IV.

Interesting that people are bringing this up about the Kamis; for a while I've been imagining that Game Freak would use Aztec/Mayan mythology as a basis for the Generation VI legendaries to expand upon Generation V's America theme. Maybe the Kamis' new formes are a hint at this?

Well that's just pure speculation. Maybe the dude already had a wife and kids. Maybe he adopted his kids. Nothing is sure. For all you know BW only takes place 4 years after RSE. In which case it makes sense for Steven not to get new art, it's only been 6 years later after all.

They gave new art for three years but whatever. I think it's just the sheer amount of characters they'd have to redesign. They didn't even give the Seven Sages any artwork (and I doubt they're getting any now either), so I don't think they'd be worth giving new art if their role is essentially limited to a feature made to pander to the bases.

Well of course that's the real reason, but Quagbert wanted an in-game explanation.

OMGOMGOMG!!!!!

I actually died when I saw this!! Cheren and Bianca look so awesome!!

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed that Bianca's wearing Cheren's glasses??

She's not, though.

She clearly is. They have the exact same design.

Take another look.

I'm still a bit annoyed that the older gym leaders are using the same exact designs they had in previous games. I mean, didn't they age at all? Also, where the heck did Hilbert run off to? I wonder if Cheren and Bianca will even acknowledge him. After all, they are childhood friends, so it'd be weird to have them ignore the fact that he went missing.

Holy crap. First Metagross and Excadrill in the same Pokedex that's not the National Pokedex, but now the tournament Cynthia mentioned in B/W actually being accessible in-game?

Please note that the only reason I'm not using my Caps Lock and a blizzard of exclamation marks is because I actually want to seem sane, despite my overwhelming excitement over all of this.
