Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

Another thing that people seem to be ignoring is the possibility that perhaps there's no new type--maybe they're just redoing how typing works. And perhaps Sylveon, instead of being that type, is the "poster child" for this new typing mechanism. If this were the case, I would not be surprised (in fact, I would expect) the legendaries to have it, too.
What do you mean by that?

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

The official Japanese website is updating with XY news tomorrow (I imagine, to coincide with the developer round-table).
Tomorrow? Not for most people outside the US.
Yeah, I originally got the time wrong. Initial reports stated that the round-table will be taking place directly after the Nintendo Direct - further digging revealed it was later.

Will be 2am on Wednesday for the UK which is...not far off being tomorrow xD

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

I'm hoping for the first time that CoroCoro doesn't leak overnight, because tomorrow will be exciting enough with the Direct and E3 coverage. If I have to deal with leaks before breakfast I don't think I can physically make it through the day.

Between this and AC New Leaf release on friday...wow. I'm going into fangasm overload.

Oddly, I also don't want Corocoro to leak before the E3 roundtable. I think my reason is because we don't know when Corocoro is going to leak; whereas, we know the roundtable will start at 6pm PDT. I can't waitttttttt!!!!!

Why is it important what will come first!? It will be probably the same information so the more earlier we get it I will be more happy.

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

To be honest, I doubt CoroCoro will leak tomorrow. Unlike Smash, which is supposedly only watched in Japan, E3 and Nintendo Directs are streamed live to all the world, and E3's Directs are going to be Nintendo's biggest events in the whole year, so E3 HAS to be the first time and place where Nintendo reveals this information; if any big news is leaked internationally before its intended announcement, the Direct (and by extension, Nintendo's E3 performance) will be ruined and Nintendo will fail to catch the intended attention, hindering its perception in the media. Therefore, Nintendo can't take risks to let that happen. I bet Nintendo and the Pokémon Company are taking every measure to prevent any leak of information to happen before E3, even if such measures mean that this month's Coro Coro wil not contain new information (or at least not all the information planned to be revealed tomorrow in the Direct).

I agree that CoroCoro getting leaked today would steal the presentation's thunder. But I don't see what can be done to prevent a leak, and it would be odd if CoroCoro didn't cover the information from E3 since the official release day is the 15th. CoroCoro promised a big XY scoop, and I can't see it being much different than the E3 content.

It is important to bear in mind that the number of people who visit Pokémon fansites frequently is minuscule compared to the overall number of players, so for most people the E3 announcement will be big news either way. But I'd think that at least some of the journalists attending the presentation would know about a leak.

As I said in my original post, what could be done is not to give CoroCoro the information they'll reveal tomorrow morning, but alas, CoroCoro already promised a big scoop, something I had completely forgotten about, so you're right, the magazine will most likely feature the same news Nintendo will reveal tomorrow. Luckily for Nintendo, CoroCoro rarely leaks on the 11th, generally leaks around the 13th; and as you said, fortunately the people on these sites is a minority.

Last month's scoop was leaked on the 11th, as were most of the Black/White leaks.

Really? I swear it happened on the 12th, anyways, given the time (we're only a few hours ahead of the Direct), even if it does leak tomorrow, I highly doubt it will leak before the broadcast.

The presentation, which isn't part of the Direct, won't start until 6PM PT (which is almost 17 hours from now).

I know, but I thnk the Direct will still give the basic outline of the Pokémon news, while the presentation will properly enter in detaill about it.

I doubt it. TPCi will be live-tweeting the Nintendo Developer Roundtable, but they haven't said anything about the Direct.

I'm going to be irritated if the Direct doesn't give us the bulk of the news. The Q and A thing doesn't start until like 2am my Time! Sadface.

The Direct is focused on Wii U, right?

The Direct just started, and the first thing they talked about was Pokémon and the confirmation of the Fairy Type.

It was, but they showed some stuff about Pokémon in the beginning, including the confirmation of Fairy-type and some new features of the games.

Now if only they'll reveal the types of the Legendaries already.
