Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

Oh, I really like the panda Pokemon! I've actually *REALLY* wanted a panda Pokemon for awhile now, so it's great we're finally getting one (not counting Spinda, which really doesn't look much like a panda at all imo).

Gogoat is pretty cool, too. I like how you can actually mount him and ride him around town. Pretty nice!!

As for the bird and lizard... thing?
They're fine. I don't love them, but I don't hate them, either.

As for the trainers... hmm. I'm really not sure what to say about the male. I mean... I like him, and he's probably one of my favorite male trainers now, but... he does look quite similar to the Gen V guys... or at least, Hilbert.

The female trainer, though, is really cute. I love the black and red, and her blonde hair~ what good color combinations!
...yeah, I prefer her over the male trainer~

I can't say I care a whole lot about us finally getting customization, though.
I suppose I'm in the minority on that one.

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

So there's a picture of a car, which means they likely have public transit in that city.

PC: Public transit? No thanks, I'll take my goat.

The goat definitely has a saddle. I'm willing to bet HMs are now replaced with key items.

I will die from excitement if the HMs are replaced with items. I've found the HM function to be annoying since Gen 1. It was less so in Gen V, since you didn't need them for the main storyline, but I still have to either give them to a party member or run to the pc if I want to get all the items and do post-story activities.

Ah, finally a decent shot of the boxart! Looks wonderful, as does the art of Xerneas & Yveltal used in the magazine. I hope they use it more often.

The region looks pretty interesting as well.

I'm slowly warming up the female player character too. When I first saw her I was a bit stand-off ish but I'm liking her more and more.

New page; serebii just updated

And what does the text says? Anybody knows? (Sorry, I can't read Japanese)

When you're (presumably) too young to drive, you have make do.
You don't need to be able to drive or be a certain age to take public transit.

Also, the new protagonists seem to be at least 16, so they probably already reached the legal age to get a permit.

We should be getting information every month from now on. We've made it the through the early dry patch that always comes with new generations at this point.

At least we got some clearer scans today and it all looks neat. I'm even warming to the goat, though I still don't love it. ^_^

The boxes for the games look even better with the higher quality image. Elikiteru is still my favorite and it looks even cuter in some of those shots from the games, but Yancham has grown on me. I liked it fine before, but its toughness makes it look kind of cute to me the more I see it. I'm quite happy that they'll have more news next month. I figured that they would when we're getting closer to October and not having any information for a whole issue at this point doesn't seem like the best idea, but the confirmation is nice all the same.

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

The boxarts looks amazing! I wonder if they'll have holographic covers? That'd be a really nice touch.

You know, I wish the English covers would experiment more with the Pokemon logo. I know the Japanese doesn't have a set logo for the Pokemon franchise (when it comes to the main series, they seem create a new template for every/every other new generation) and they always match the logo's color with the background/mascot Pokemon/name of the game, while the English uses a consistent logo with the same blue and yellow color scheme.

While I want the international games to continue using the same logo, I wish they would be less consistent with its colors. Why can't we use color schemes that matches the Pokemon/name of the game too? I think it'd be a nice change from the usual (and in all honesty, ever since BW I think the yellow and blue color scheme of the English logo has ruined the covers a bit. I just think they look odd, compared to the Japanese covers).

I was finally about to see clear screenshots of the boxart, as well. And I must agree with everyone that it looks amazing. I really like how they incorporated an X and a Y to the respective boxarts.

Although I'm not a fan of how the boxarts utilize an X or Y in the background (there are fakes that do the same thing and those look ugly), I like how they appear to be windows or cutscenes into a forest or mountain range. Aside from that though, it's a plain black or white background. Although, this really reminds me of the HGSS boxarts, which are the only other ones that showcase a landscape. In fact, as a random sidenote, Xerneas and Yveltal themselves remind me of Ho-Oh and Lugia, respectively. Xerneas and Ho-Oh share the rainbow theme while Lugia and Yveltal are both avians with appendages on their wings.

I see a luminous forest in the X boxart, but I can't say that I notice a mountain range behind Yveltal. It looks like a cloudy sky to me, but it isn't very clear.

It actually isn't clear to me, either. I should've specified that I assume there are mountains due to a slight brown tinge below Yveltal's left wing. There actually isn't much of a shape to it, though.
