Anyone else dislike the English text?

Speaking of which, Pancham's French names breaks the character limit for the roman alphabet games (10), just like Parabolic Charge broke the Japanese character limit for moves. So, maybe we'll get Feraligator and Victreebell finally. :0

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

I got excited when I saw the guy sitting on a bench! Literal ingame people-watching! :D

It's nice to see that they have a bunch of cute little European cars around. (that you can ride by on a Gogoat)

Feraligator and Victreebell
I in a way hope those don't change, it is kind of interesting to have names like that.
I second this. Even if they were shortened due to character limit, I don't see them retconning names.

Although the possibility of over 10 characters makes me so happy. Better nicknames!

This picture of Miare was in CoroCoro and on the official site.

Look at the two characters in the middle...Looker and Colress?

Woah. Most definitely. That's actually spooky.

The tie with Colress could make sense, and subsequently Looker. But why would they be walking together?

I don't see the blue hair thing, just a blonde guy in a white coat.

I'm not so much into sticking to old things all the time, so I actually hope this happens. Feraligatr's name has always bugged me.

Not sure if anyone else saw this on the official site, but they confirmed the whole 'habitats' or '3 areas of Kalos' theory that was floating around:

Nice. Hmm, both the habitats/areas and the Pokémon names rumors were confirmed, so I guess the other rumors are legit as well.

Looks more and more likely that Fairy-type will be confirmed, that's just awesome. Probably super-effective to Dark and what not.

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

The screenshot where the player sits ontop of a Gogoat makes it look like the game will have free walking, since the nearby house's edge and the player's line of sight face different directions, but other screenshots suggests tile-based movement so oh well, I'll just wait and see.

In a way I'd like to see free walking, cause imo it looks a bit weird for fully 3D characters to move along a grid. They moved away from sprites, so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we got free walking as well.

Probably we'll get free walking for cities and towns (where there are no wild Pokémon, and thus, no random encounters; thus the grid is not needed) and tile-based walking for routes, forests and other assorted locations. Somebody posted a few screenshots that proved diagonal walking in a rouite, however, it still looked tile-based (the character moved on a 45degree angle, a perfect diagonal instead of something more loose and organic).

The most exciting part is that we now finally know what Sylveon's type is.

Not yet. WPM's souce claimed that Fairy is a new type, but they didn't say that Sylveon was Fairy; also, I don't remember WPM's source claiming that Fairy is the only new type, so there is still the possibility of being many new types with Fairy being only one of them. Furthermore, the hints that were revealed on Smash about Sylveon (being strong against Ice) do not correspond with the source description for the Fairy type (neutral damage to Ice Pokémon), which hints towards Sylveon not being Fairy, which in turns opens the possibility of more new types where Sylveon could fit in.

Actually it did say Sylveon would be Fairy type, however to be fair it didn't mention anything about ice so it's possible it was overlooked.

Re: Official CoroCoro Discussion Thread

Looking at the Pokédex screen here:
http://www.serebii.net/corocoro5138.jpg

Trying to figure out what the buttons on the bottom of the right screenshot say. This is what I'm thinking so far:
しんか(Evolution) タイプ(Type) タイプ2(Type 2) わざ(Moves)... can't really tell the rest at all.

I'm thinking it's possible that the Pokédex's capabilities might have increased quite a bit for this gen.

Edit: Oh, um... nevermind: http://www.serebii.net/xy/47.jpg

I guess it's just sorting options then. Other side, just because: http://www.serebii.net/xy/46.jpg

Edit: Is this the first time they've used an accented upper-case e?

Edit: It appears that Chespin is in all three regional dexes, but this contradictions with the number seen in each one.

What makes you think Chespin is associated with all 3 areas of Kalos? Sure it lists all 3 areas, but I'm sure that doesn't mean he's associated with all 3. Perhaps because he's a starter he's not actually associated with any of them. I'm not sure, but I doubt he's associated with all 3 areas.

Well, in one of the shots, it shows 9 for central, 0 for coastal, 2 for mountian. If starters were all three, then there wouldn't be a zero. [edit: oh, that's what you were saying] Those numbers also might hint you pass near a mountain in the first couple of routes?
