There are quite a few episodes with a darker atmosphere. For example, one of the episodes I remember watching when I was a kid made me feel very unsettled and even gave me a few nightmares.

It was the episode from Diamond and Pearl where Ash and friends get trapped in an illusion from Mismagius after taking shelter in an old shed in the woods from a nightly rainstorm. In the illusion Ash defeats Cynthia and becomes a Pokémon master, Dawn wins the Grand Festival and becomes Top Coordinator and Brock gets a harem of Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys. However, when they try to leave the stadium, they find themselves right back at the opposite as in a loop. All the people disappear from the stadium and only Ash and company are left. What's worse, they are attacked by a purple Rayquaza, who turns out to be Mismagius. The claustrophobic and terrifying feeling of running away but always ending up at the same, abandoned site was very scary for me as a kid.

Have you ever gotten frightened or uncomfortable watching the Pokémon anime? Do you have any episodes that scared you or creeped you out? Let's discuss!

I can think of one really creepy episode that creeped me out as a child. The episodes about Sabrina in the anime and when Ash fought Sabrina. Her Kadabra was lethal. She was so creepy and the fact she could evolve an Abra was really weird. Anyway, those episodes were very dark and pre-teen Lucy didn't want to think about this sort of stuff. :ROFLMAO:
